New Updates for X299 Motherboards today. This updates the ME for an Intel security vulnerability: BIOS 1.29 (E299 Dark) / 1.29 (E297 FTW K) / 1.22 (E296 Micro ATX 2) /1.30 (E295 Micro) Updates
- Update ME firmware to 11.12.90.1962v10 for Intel security vulnerability.
Windows Installation- Download the correct .zip file below for your motherboard:
151-SX-E299-KR - EVGA X299 Dark - v1.29 142-SX-E297-KR - EVGA X299 FTW K - v1.29 121-SX-E296-KR - EVGA X299 Micro ATX 2 - v1.22 131-SX-E295-KR - EVGA X299 Micro ATX - v1.30- First go into your BIOS and load defaults, save and exit
- Close all open programs.
- Go into the folder where you unzipped this package and double-click update.bat
- Press Y to start the flash process
- DO NOT TURN OFF POWER OR RESET DURING THE FLASH PROCESS
- After the flashing is finished, the system will automatically shut down. Then power on again and go into BIOS to setup.
- NOTE: If flash box immediately closes after flash attempt, the flash may need to be ran from a CMD prompt with administrator privileges or DOS version.
BIOS Installation- Extract the contents of .zip file to USB flash drive (must be formatted as FAT32)
- Reboot the machine and go into the system BIOS
- From the BIOS, navigate to the Save & Exit tab and open "Select BIOS File."
- Select the .bin file you wish to flash.
Please let me know if anyone runs into problems with this update. Thanks!

Oh my God!!! What the heck All Mobo Lights are staying on including Memory after Power Supply Unplugged!!! Holding the PWR Button not seems to be discharge electricity. Alright after some digging, I found out RSHTECH USB 3.0 Powered Hub causing Mobo Led Lights to stay on.

Guys, I am having trouble with FTWk v1.29 I've received the MB with an old bios version and it did not work with i9-10940x so I've used a 7900x and updated the bios to 1.29. Everything seemed fine until the PC died out of nowhere. Now sometimes it starts and sometimes it does not. When I am lucky, I turn on the PC and in 10s or so it shuts down and after 2s it turns back up and boots Ok. After some time using, the PC dies again. I've switched the power supply from a 750W one to a 850W and it still does the same thing. I've switched the RTX3090 for a GTX 1080ti with the same behavior. Could it be a bios bug? Please be a bios bug so that I can just update/downgrade it and do not have to take it to the store. i9 10940x 256GB 2933MHz 8x32GB RTX 3090 24GB nvme 960GB corsair RM850 EVGA CLC 240mm

You can try to reflash the BIOS, make sure to loads Default before and after. Or you can Flip the BIOS Switch while you are in the BIOS then try to Update the BIOS.

How safe is that? Do I have a chance of bricking or rendering the motherboard not usable?

I believe something is shorting your Mobo. Take it out of the Case and turn it on with minimal Components are attach to it like Graphics Card, one Stick of Memory, Keyboard and Mouse......

Are you sure your CPU isn't overheating? If you swapped CPUs in order to update the BIOS, is it possible your CPU cooler wasn't mounted properly?

Please keep supporting this mobo. Just bought a new one. I love this chipset because I use a bunch of pci lanes. Still dont understand why newer cpus dont support more lanes.

Lol, new bios... I even can't run the new system because 10920x is "recent" for the bios of ftw k. And I finally received "Unfortunately, there is no available stock for BIOS in the stock" after 3 weeks of formal replies because I don't have an older cpu for mb update... I will never buy such a damn motherboard again. Only with a possibility of "usb no-cpu update"

you can download the current BIOS and update from a USB drive within the current BIOS. if you're unable to get in BIOS. send your MB back to EVGA and have them update the BIOS for you.

He doesn't need to send the board in, support can ship a CMOS chip like they did for me and my X299 FTW & 10920X back in Oct' 2019 while I was waiting for my CPU to ship. Edit: nvm I just saw where he said he can't get the chip, sending in would be only option as no cpu flashing will not work and why I had a chip sent out early...

dustingg you can download the current BIOS and update from a USB drive within the current BIOS. if you're unable to get in BIOS. send your MB back to EVGA and have them update the BIOS for you.
He doesn't need to send the board in, support can ship a CMOS chip like they did for me and my X299 FTW & 10920X back in Oct' 2019 while I was waiting for my CPU to ship.
I believe he was trying to state that EVGA doesn't have any CMOS/BIOS chips in stock or available and since this is a discontinued MB they probably wont have any available again.

Ofc I can download the new bios but I can't use it (df post code, the current bios is too old for the cpu, all hardware are brand-new). Find a repair service to pay ~$100+? Average, but not the best idea. Buy *non-evga* mb and sell this one? Great idea but it was the gift from a friend (the main reason). But. The only problem for me is - I spent 3 weeks to get the real answer.
