Today I updated BIOS on my X299 Dark from 1.28 to 1.29. If I am correct BIOS’ hardware monitor reports NXP MCU temperatures are approximately 2C higher after the update than they were before. Has anybody else observed same?

I installed this update, and updated my GTX 1080 with this software:
I was attempting to install windows 11 and this driver allowed me to disable CSM, I had no video output in BIOS until I installed that driver. I installed it and I was able to disable CSM and still have video output. I booted into windows to make sure everything was ok and it seemed so. So I went back into BIOS to enable Secure Boot and my problems returned, only this time I couldnt bypass BIOS Setup into Windows to flash the BIOS. I am stuck with no video and a POST code of D6, No Console Output Devices are found. Tried another GPU and the same issue is present, D6. So my motherboard just doesn't detect GPUs anymore? Its fans run and it lights up. Any suggestions? Thanks!

EVGATech_LeeM New Updates for X299 Motherboards today. This updates the ME for an Intel security vulnerability:
BIOS 1.29 (E299 Dark) / 1.29 (E297 FTW K) / 1.22 (E296 Micro ATX 2) /1.30 (E295 Micro) Updates
- Update ME firmware to 11.12.90.1962v10 for Intel security vulnerability.
Windows Installation
- Download the correct .zip file below for your motherboard:
151-SX-E299-KR - EVGA X299 Dark - v1.29 142-SX-E297-KR - EVGA X299 FTW K - v1.29 121-SX-E296-KR - EVGA X299 Micro ATX 2 - v1.22 131-SX-E295-KR - EVGA X299 Micro ATX - v1.30
- First go into your BIOS and load defaults, save and exit
- Close all open programs.
- Go into the folder where you unzipped this package and double-click update.bat
- Press Y to start the flash process
- DO NOT TURN OFF POWER OR RESET DURING THE FLASH PROCESS
- After the flashing is finished, the system will automatically shut down. Then power on again and go into BIOS to setup.
- NOTE: If flash box immediately closes after flash attempt, the flash may need to be ran from a CMD prompt with administrator privileges or DOS version.
BIOS Installation
- Extract the contents of .zip file to USB flash drive (must be formatted as FAT32)
- Reboot the machine and go into the system BIOS
- From the BIOS, navigate to the Save & Exit tab and open "Select BIOS File."
- Select the .bin file you wish to flash.
Please let me know if anyone runs into problems with this update. Thanks!

Not sure what issues you're having with the phone system. We did restart our phone system a little earlier today, but support is still in the office and answering calls for another hour today.

hi, this might be a weird place to ask but is it possible to have a bios that allows disabling of HT on only specific cores?

Thanks in advance. I bought a x299 Dark and a 9820x used awhile back and the Bios had already been updated for the 9820x. Everything works great. Came across a 10980XE recently, and bought a new old-stock x299 to put it in, but it's unlikely that it shipped with the Bios updated, so I came here to order a Bios chip, but apparently, there are none left. I do not have a 7th Gen X cpu lying around. My question is, can I use the Bios chip off of my 1st x299 Dark to update my 2nd? I intend to keep both of them in service, but I can temporarily take my 1st rig off-line to accomplish this. If it's possible, how can I get instructions on how to do it? I'm not a noob, but I have very little experience with removable Bios chips.

I just updated the x299 to the latest BIOS but now it won’t boot past the new EVGA bios screen where you have 4 options (enter setup, gamer mode, default mode, EVGA of robot). I setup all my options, so how do you get back to my damn Windows 10???

I bought a samsung m.2 nvme ssd 980 PRO and my FTW K recognizes it but out of nowhere the partition doesn't appear anymore and it shows size 0 Mb, I took it to the technician and as he has another card of a different model, the m.2 works normally with it. The technician formatted and installed windows, but when I put it in my board it only worked for a few moments and the same thing happened. I already updated bios to 1.29 and followed all steps in bios configuration. Is it incompatibility of the m.2 because it is pcie 4.0 and the ftw k is pcie 3.0?

First, this is a wrong thread for your question, you should've created your own thread. Second, I strongly doubt this is because your drive is PCIE 4.0 while slot is 3.0. PCIE standards are backward compatible and your number of lanes is same, so something else is likely going on.

Looks like everyone left town. No more bios, and support for these boards, as with ones. With all the other AIv's, EVGA was the only one that can put out solid boards. I am holding on the this one, and with 1.29, its all good here with 10980XE.

PINKTULIP Flip the BIOS Switch while you are in the BIOS then try to Update the BIOS.
How safe is that? Do I have a chance of bricking or rendering the motherboard not usable?
I believe something is shorting your Mobo. Take it out of the Case and turn it on with minimal Components are attach to it like Graphics Card, one Stick of Memory, Keyboard and Mouse......
Yes this could be the issue, if the postcode LED doesn´t show any C unusualy often. Something in which he wrote reminds me on this maligne bug, some of the FTWK motherboards have had. If it is the case that it is this tragic C postcode error, there is no longer any hope to fix this board somehow, this was what i experienced. In this case there is some kind of corossion in the power connection between the CPU, and a power connector( maybe one, or both 8 pin 12 volt CPU connectors) which is in the pcb, to support the CPU with electricity. I believe that this "lanes" or connections, are more for the communication between the CPU and the chipsets on the board which support the single functions. Could imagine that a little lack of voltage causes a command to shut of the whole funktion of the mainboard???! This is what i experienced, and once startet showing this behaviour, it will happen more and more often, till ones are no longer able to start the mainboard. In between there is a time when it starts, starts not, works without any bug till it suddenly shuts of, or ones need 25 times of trying to start the board, it starts and is a minute later allready dead again. After all, this bug becomes worser and worser and i fear, that if the postcode LED showed a single C more than 2-3 times a day, for more than a few seconds, without any failure at the 8 pin 12 Volt CPu power cables or connectors, which can also cause this errorcode, there is no longer hope .

Is your Mainboard still in function, do you still use it? Do you mean the LED in this position, or other functions, too? If it is only the LED that " burned out" it would be possible, that i send you a new one, of this single LED. Because i have this LED twice. So why not helping you, when there is the coinsidence of having one of this single LED´s and especialy exactly this one, by sending you a letter with this spare part in it. Hard to believe that the letter which is needed to transport this LEd, costs more than a few Euro, which you would send me back over pay pal, when the letter arrived at your home. In this sad time this LEd could be the little light of hope and faith, which got lost in all of us, in the last few years, perhaps? Don´t know.

Not any usual bios, and creating a moded bios which allows doing that would not be easy. Even not for EVGA or Intel, i could imagine.

In this case i would start the mobo and turn it off at the psu. Would make a hard reset and take out the card out of the slot and put it in again. Than i would switch the psu on and the mobo would start without using the start switch, normaly. And this i would do again and again while trying to boot into the bios every single time, till there is a picture again. Or i would try to use the bios switch to get into the second UEFi overlay. Maybe there this behaviour isn´t shown. And if this would not work i would try both options till it works again. There were moments i could not imagine that my X299 Dark could ever show any picture again, i thought "Now it is dead", and after trying and trying, putting the card from slot to slot, trying to boot just with one ram module and only the boot device, making bios resets, in every single case the moment came when i saw the clear picture of the bios menue again, and was able to activate every single function of this mobo again, working as being taken outof the box a few minutes bevore.
