"NVIDIA official close to the HPC vendors, "GF110 is the new flagship will be, Graphics Processing Cluster (below, GPC) which consists of four groups," he said. Because GPC is composed of 4 SM, which is by design GF110, 16SM has been made, 16 × 48 = 768 CUDA Core group means that the chip. "But how do we enable a group of them at the product level remains to be seen" (He said)."

I want Maxwell already.  Is Nvidia's GPU based on single layer PCB process or have they already moved to multi-layer?  IBM has been doing it for several years in their stuff.  They have to use a lot of rare Earth metals to make it happen though.  Will Nvidia do the same or will they keep chasing die shrink?

Yea 768 CUDA cores would be GF104x2. Rembmer GF104 is actually 384cores, just limited to 336 to improve yields.

It's a possible card to come out, but might be a little hard to stay in PCI-E power spec.

nope. its a single chip design. but 576 is the more likely number.

Not to sound like a jerk or anything, but as a Mod, I thought you could not comment on anything that hasn't been released yet. Please don't be mad at me, I just thought I may be helping you not get into any trouble from your superiors. If I'm wrong, I will apologize. Thanks!

there wasn't anything signed when becoming a mod. So they could talk about all they want. Just it isn't a reliable source

official evga reps can't. AFAIK nothing stops mods from sharing what they're thinking. Plus mods don't get new information about anything. There just you with a fancy title.

The rumor (charlie lolz) is a paper launch around the time AMD launches the 6970 next month. But who knows, we may not see the card until AMD goes to the 7000 series.....

no matter what ati provides i will never go down that path i had ati once it was the worst thing i ever had the next day i got rid of it and wen't for the 8800GTX since then i've been a hardcore nvidia supporter

the 8800GTX should be ina  muesum for the most lasting graphics card in gaming i mean the card was made like 2007 and it can still take games at a resonable setting i use a 8600GT now in my replacement pc and wow what a card too bad the pentium 4 puts it down

the way i see it when you go for ati you get what you pay for no matter what they do it just dosn't sit right with me for example the looks all red with pictures of monsters etc to attract younger buyers thats just me thou im sure ati is good but i would never get it nvidia drivers are amazing no question about it

call me a fanboy but i just don't trust ati to take care of my pc life

my buy will be the 580 im sure it will blow my mind after what the 480 did even thou i never got to try the 480 i seen benchmarks and how stable it is ontop of that amazing nvidia drivers never had any problem with there drivers the only problem was dreamscene crashing back in 08 on my 8800GTX

but thats it

this is what i wen't thru constantly with ati back in 08 i even bought the card to play crysis and the cut scenes lagged

im gonna hope the rumours about the 580 are true as that would make me really happy maybe it can max out metro 2033 who knows i don't know why i want to max it out as i will probably not play it over and over again but i still want to be able to max out every game out

I'm pretty likely to commit to this card.

If it can be cooled by a Prolimatech MK-13, it'll end up in my box.

OH MY GOD NVIDIA WHAT DID YOU DO :(

the point of a stronger card is to make it look nicer not the other way around this looks like a 470 :(

evga you got alot of work to do PLEASE put back the extreme heatpipes what made the 480 so beastly i don't want to go from beastly monster to plastic regular i sure hope this is not accurate as it sure looks ugly compared to the 480 atleast according to me i loved the 480's look don't take that away from me i hope evga fixes this if it is the actual look

let's hope this is not true i love nvidia because there unique they don't care what others want they do it there way i hope they don't try to get ati fans "redding" out the whole thing and going from reliability to the plain ati toy plastic he 5870 really looks like a toy space ship or something please nvidia don't do this to us DON'T DO THIS TO ME!

Let's hope it still as long as the 480. If it is, then the EVGA GTX 480 Fansink might still fit.

Re:GTX 580? 2010/10/28 12:29:53 (permalink)

"On this topic, Chiphell has some speculation/rumors on GTX 5XX series. Napoleon generally has decent info and got quite a bit right about the 6XXX and 5XXX launches. He is saying there is expectation NV is releasing what they're going to call GTX 580 and GTX 570 at the end of November to try and offset the 6970/6950 launch. GTX 560 is claimed to be next year. He has pegged GTX 580 clockspeed at 772core/1102memory with 80% the power draw of the GTX 480.

Estimates per his rumors are GTX 570=GTX 480 and GTX580=GTX480+20%. The rumor has some sense to it over the 384sp 460 rumors. That card will hold no water against 6950 and 6970 which is expected to perform as 6950=GTX 480, 6970=GTX480+20-30%. NV will probably prefer to move all the 460 stock they can before they release a replacement as well and I can see why they will delay that card's replacement until next year."
