Version:
11.5.0.1207
Important Note: This version of the Intel® Rapid Storage Technology (RAID) has been temporarily removed from our website.  Please use version 11.2.0.1006.  Please contact Intel® Customer Support for additional information.

i doubt why they did it ? and will there be any issue for the modded bios ?

anyone was able to figure out if trim is going on Raid 0 with this driver/modded BIOS  ? or the SSD toolbox optimization tool is working ?

Intel removed the official 11.5.0.1207 due to a memory leak in the service that gets installed with the software. The driver itself works just fine.

Sorry, no ISO. I guess I could do it if there is a demand, but you could also just use something like 7-Zip to replace the BIN file inside the original EVGA ISO with the modded one.

Re:New RAID ROM 2012/08/06 15:11:56 (permalink)
i've updated the bios with the new irst rom and installed the new drivers, the crappy windows performance experince index for storage went from 7.8 to 7.9, performance increase confirmed

i've also note a slightly fast booting / windows startup, consider the bloated task bar i have

still ssd tool box won't run optimization on raid.. wonder if trim is going beneath it by windows it self..

thanks guys ! you rock !

Glad it worked for you, but you should not have to join Google Drive. It should just let you download without having to be logged in.

I've been using the modded E757 BIOS without any issues. The rest should be the same. What kind of issues are you having and with which RAID controller?

EDIT: Nevermind, I read your other post. I'd say try the updated ROM and see if you get better speeds with your Raptors.

Has anyone noticed 770 is posted as having JMicron ROM when, in fact, it has Marvell Controller?
Is this just error or really has the wrong Option ROM?
Concerned , but not ungrateful...thanks so much for this...anxious to try!

I had the same concern a while back about the 768 for the same reason, and I was told the Jmicron is the actual IDE controller...

Not sure if that's accurate or not, but that is what I was told, and for the record, I've been using these modded OROM bios's for a while now and everything is flawless for me...  (knocks on wood)...

I use my onboard RAID heavily on this board with 4 1tb western digital drives in raid 0 for storage, and 2 vertex 3 drives for the system...  Works like a charm...

Re:New RAID ROM 2012/09/02 11:06:34 (permalink)
For some reason, EVGA decided to include the JMicron RAID ROM with every X58 BIOS, whether the board has the controller or not. It is not being loaded if the board doesn't actually have it.

As far as the Marvell RAID ROMs, they have to be flashed externally, and not as part of the BIOS. I'm sure you guys are already aware of this.

FYI folks this is a beta rom and no trim support. Some have reported better performance though. I would wait til the 1724s come out..

Re:New RAID ROM 2012/10/08 14:41:20 (permalink)
@henryvits,

I was wondering when you mod the bios file your using cbrom.exe and was wondering do you first release the old pci rom raid file and then add the new one with the same 8086-2822_ prefix infront of the rom version? Does what order the module is matter?

Thanks.

Edit: I tried my hand at it and first just added the file 8086_2822_v11601624.bin but the position in the bios dump had changed down one slot. So I started over and released the rtegpxe and then released the 8086-2822_v115XXXXX.bin then added the new 8086-2822_v116XXXXX.bin file followed by the rtegpxe file such that the order listed is the same as before. Did I do that right?

Thanks

Hey guys,

I will upload modded BIOSes with the new RAID ROM as well as a new Realtek PXE ROM tomorrow morning when I'm at work. I've already modded my LE board, and it works fine.

@dmoheban

No need to release existing modules first. I simply replace the existing modules with "cbrom [BIOS name] /pci [module name]". The order of the modules shown with "cbrom /d" is irrelevant. The last one you update will always be at the bottom of the list, but what's important is that the letters A, B, and C still correspond to the correct modules. CBROM does that automatically. Also, the name of the module does not matter at all. It does not have to be the same as the previous one.

Oh I see. Ok but you still have to rename the raid rom file? About the PCI list order I guess my OCD was acting up. Still I'm too chicken sht to try flashing my own mod. Will wait for 11.6.0.1724 with trim support first before I take the risk..

Thanks!

See my edited post in regards to the renaming. Don't get your hopes up for TRIM support in anything older than 7-series chipsets. Intel doesn't seem to care much about us "legacy" users

Thanks for the bios modding tips. About the Trim support I've read on Overclock.net that its coming to older chipsets soon maybe. Its a big Maybe. Rumor is that the 11.6.1.XXXX roms will bring it. I don't have my hopes up though it would be awesome if it did!
