I have the hp p6-2003w
I put a GTX 560 TI graphics card into it awhile back and just recently I put in the z68 sli with a new i7 2600k. Everything powers up fine. I am getting "No signal" from the monitor. I tried both the VGA and DVI plug ins but its not detecting either. Have tried putting the card in both slots but still getting no video and no beats. I use a 750W PSU. All the Fans are powering up. all LEDs are on but i'm just getting no signal to the monitor. I tried to connect it to VGA on my tv but still got no signal.

EDIT: Tried taking the Ram out and putting it in each of the slots. ( I only have one 4gb ram stick) And none of that worked. I tried putting the graphics card into the first slot instead of the second and that didn't work either. Could it be I dont have something plugged into the right spot? such as the hard drive or disk drive? The graphics card worked fine on the other motherboard . I also see that my motherboard is for DDR3 240 pin Ram. I'm not entirely sure if my current ram is 240 pin. on the specs it just says 4gb DDR3-1333. I don't know if it is DIMM or not but could this be the problem?  This mobo also has no on board video. Do I have to hook up my old setup and download the drivers for the new motherboard then switch back? I'm just lost at what to do at this point.

First - make sure your card is seated properly.  Secondly, I would suggest that you check all the slots to make sure you don't have a bad PCI slot (and no - you can have any of the PCIe slots filled - it's just what performance you will get from it - x16, x8 or x4).  Third - it shouldn't really matter that much - but I would disable any other video.  Lastly, make sure you have all the latest drivers/BIOS.

Card should be seated in the top slot, make sure it goes down till the connector locks in place. Also don't forget to plug in the 2x 6-pin power connectors into the card.

I can't get into the BIOS or anything because i'm not getting any display at all. Everything seems to be working right except I have to power the motherboard from the power button inside.. ( button on tower doesnt do anything) and the graphics card isnt sending any signal. its fit in nice and tight with both 6 pins connected. My dad said I couldn't hook it up I wanted to prove him wrong -_- not doing too well so far. I had this problem with the graphics card when I first got it. I don't remember what I did to make it work back then.

Are you certain the monitor still works, have you used another video source to check (like another computer or change the video signal in the monitor's menu)?

For Intel processors, 0.122 x TDP = Continuous Amps at 12v [source].

Yeah it just says DVI / VGA :DETECTING --- NO SIGNAL. It did this when I first got my graphics card on the other motherboard.. Don't quite remember how I fixed it but I also tried plugging my VGA to my tv and the tv got no signal. Not quite sure what the problem might be..

Do you have your monitor set to the correct input?  can you try a different way of connecting it? ie VGA vs DVI?

Well I tried DVI then VGA then both at the same time. I believe the monitor is set to auto detect both.. because it swaps between both of them a few times saying "detecting" then "no signal" on both. The monitor worked fine before the processor / motherboard swap. The motherboard is the z68 sli and the processor is the i7 2600k. Everything runs fine in the cpu just getting no video.  Graphics card worked fine also before the change . I also use a 750W PSU

There isn't really a whole lot you can do; 1. some may say there is no plarity when connecting the power wires to the motherboard (there is) 2. don't touch anything in the computer unless you are grounded (by touching the metal case) and unless the main power is disconnected from the wall. You may have shorted something. 3. you can look at all of the capasiters and the condition of the motherboard itself when capasiters are damaged they leak and bulge all of the metal cylindrical capasiters should be flat on the top.
I never run into problems because of the tip I got a long time ago don't adjust anything in the computer unless the power is off and the cord is disconnected.

well I definitely took precautions before working on the parts. I had kept touching the metal multiple times and had the cpu on a workbench with no plug ins what so ever. The board has no onboard video or any slots for vga/dmi.. so do I have to put my old mobo in and download the drivers for the new one?

What is the POST CODE that you are getting on the motherboard LED?
Is it a "C" or what number shows up on it?
Do you hear any beeps at all?

How do I obtain the latest driver/BIOS when i can't get video? Do I need to hook up my old mobo and download the drivers for the new mobo?

Sorry for the late post but I've been really busy.

Anyway, for the EVGA Z68 SLI Post Code 22 is most likely related to the memory,  22 is not listed here but it would fit in the area of this manual below on page 29 I think.

    http://www.evga.com/suppo.../files/130-SB-E685.pdf

Post Code "C" means the motherboard will not boot and is the first code to show up. This normally is related to, but not always, the CPU, Power Supply and/or motherboard being bad. For the CPU it could also mean not slotted properly.

Since you are getting Post Code 22, I would tend to believe your Ram or the memory slots will be the cause of your board not booting properly. You're original post stated that you aren't sure if the RAM you are using is 240 pin or not.
Quote "I also see that my motherboard is for DDR3 240 pin Ram. I'm not entirely sure if my current ram is 240 pin. on the specs it just says 4gb DDR3-1333. I don't know if it is DIMM or not but could this be the problem?"

Hopefully you didn't ruin the motherboard, if it is not the correct RAM modules to use. Best thing that I can think of is to go out and buy the proper RAM module and test again. Your video card may not work tilll after the RAM modules have past the POST test.

Don't worry about the BIOS as of yet.

well I contacted evga support and they also asked me for my post code, they also told me that all ddr3 is 240 pin so I shouldnt worry about that.

After using google by searching my model ram "hynix 4gb pc3-10600" I found that it might be 204 pin.. which my motherboard isnt compatible with.. and I got the post code "22" which is memory related.. And after running barebones "Cpu/heatsink, Power connectors, and only ram I still got "22". So I believe it is my ram.

Hopefully it's not your memory slots that are bad, so you won't have to RMA the mobo.

    good luck

Not sure if you've solved your problem yet but if your memory stick fits into the slot it is a 240-pin DDR3. The 204-pin DDR3 is a laptop DIMM (although you can get a converter to 240-pin for it). The DIMM has to be in slot 1 if it is the only one you have - I think that is the slot nearest the CPU. It may be that the memory is not compatible with the motherboard though so you may have to buy new memory.
Also try your graphics card in different PCI-E slots - again the slot nearest the CPU is usually the preferred slot.
Hope this helps if you haven't already resolved the problem

Something no one suggested which is what should have been done before installing the new cpu was to reset BIOS to default.
No one asked or even mention or checked for CPU compatibility with the mainboard or the ram.
