hello guys, how do i get a stats ID # to register at hard folding? (is this what everyone uses?) And how do I find a link to add my stats to my signature? thanks guys!
almost finished my first protein fold! cool.
I'm guessing your asking about the stats ID to add to HFM? If so you can't get that until you have turned in work and it shows up on the EOC page once that is done use the link I left to search for your name and it will give you a list/link click the link for your name. The numbers on your page link at the end are your stats Id number. Here is the link to make and add your own stats badge. http://piro.pirocast.net/badges/badgemaker.html No since in making that until you have the stats ID number from your EOC page, since it needs that number to get the stats to update the badge. Welcome to the team! Have any other questions ask away, we will try our best to help.

New to the team, though certainly not new to the project, which I've been with since the PS3 client came out. I finally decided to leave my former college's team because I have been the only one folding for it for the last year+ (and I'd only ever gotten a couple of my friends to fold when we were still in dorms and didn't have to pay for electricity). The allure of those EVGA Bucks was too much to ignore. I get somewhere around 120k PPD.

no... this is the client to use v6 is being discontinued and FAH GPU tracker will have no future support (it runs on v6) you PPD will vary in an ideal situation you'd use 7 day avg but since you want to join the contest you'd probably take a couple of days of PPD then avg them and leave a margin for Lower PPD work units (because you could be getting High PPD WU's)

So i should use the version 7.3.6 from stanford? and I have a good base number I think. I decided what this one computer can fun, but I might have more computers i can get up. not sure tho. might just have a friend run them during the contest so I don't mess the numbers up.

Whats up Evga folders! I have a quick question and didn't fell it was big enough to start a new thread, so here it goes.I am building a new rig entirely dedicated to crunching/ folding and I was wondering if there is a major difference between a 470 and a 570 gpu? I would prefer to just pick up a used 470 that is strictly for folding (rare gaming use), but if a 570 performs more efficiently, faster and cooler, I could save up for that instead. Thank you for the help in advance, T77-

Welcome t77snapshot! To answer your question, the power consumption of the gtx 470 and gtx 570 are roughly the same. The 570 does run cooler and is faster at the same amount of power draw. Both cards are excellent folders, so it mainly depends on how much heat/noise you are willing to deal with.

So I think I will go with the 470, get myself a gpu block and add it to the loop! Thanks for the reply Teyko5

Just started folding last night as I have a spare box that isn't doing anything atm. It's only 32k PPD with an i7-965 and a single GTX 560, but I have a couple of GTX 680's that should be here this week, which should perk it up a bit. I did fill out the form on the first page. It's my first attempt at folding. It has managed to raise the temperature in the room a few degrees...
