Cool GTX
CPU can fold, but Poor PPD @ a much higher energy usage  ---- most believe it is not worth it  PPD/KW

^^+1 Hey welcome to team EVGA, NxtGenCowboy!! Glad to have you folding with us. 1080's are really nice folding cards.

New to folding here.. Started a little bit ago.. Let it run 24x7 on my 1080 FTW.   Wish I could get a few more hertz outa it but doesn't seem stable above +100 to the core.
Either way, happy to join it, just hit 8Mil last night!

Welcome to the Team

I see 9 Million  http://folding.stanford.edu/stats/donor/1859553

Your FTW is factory OC, so no surprises about lower additional OC.  My EVGA 1080 FE fold well around +200, have lower factory MHz.

I can OC my cards higher, but as you probably noticed, on occasion the WU will fail -- even after Days of good work ---- so Folding is not tolerant or Any error

You should also post in Milestone thread

Thanks! I'll do that!   Yea apparently it did hit 9M, maybe I'll hit 10M by tonight.  I'm pretty impressed with the 1080 and how well it can fold.  It literally has been folding 24x7 since 12-13-16. I need to read up and see if I can add my media server as well except it doesn't have a GPU just to quad core cpu on Ubuntu server.

Welcome NxtGenCowboy, great points with your 1080.

You could Crunch nicely with the server.

Thanks!  I'll look into crunching now.. They are older CPUs but I'd be more than happy to add 2 E5506s to the mix.

What I find "nice" or "enjoyable" about Crunching Is there is no point loss if you decide to pause the WU for what ever reason, there is still an expiration date that it needs to be turned in by though. (that's unless your only in it for the points) I also like the fact that when you are in a challenge for the Team and the challenge comes to an end. They prefer you abort the WUs and not let them time out if you are not wanting to finish them. Unlike Folding where even mentioning "dumping" a WU will get you posted on a wanted sign.
I also found out there are also GPU driven Crunching projects too, some with the right setting you can do 2 @ a time on one GPU. I went to the Crunching side seeing that they needed help in a challenge- GPU- been hooked ever since (Bcavnaugh warned me it would happen and it did) Great group of folks on the Crunching side as well as the Folding side that will help whenever help is needed!!
I too have older CPUs (rigs built for folding) but they do their job and assist the team...............never know the WUs you complete might just help the team bump up 1 more notch in the Challenge!!! I Fold and then swap over for Crunching challenges now, then back to Folding since Folding has a project I like to devote my GPU time to.

TLDR; Check Crunching out it's pretty cool

Hey everyone,
Another new guy checking in. Currently folding on a GTX 1060 which I will try to have running 24/7. Might switch back to crunching for SETI after hitting monthly goals, however this is my first month of folding and we'll see how it goes.

Folding rig: Celeron J1900, GTX 1060
Old rig: Phenom X2 1055T, GTX 760

Welcome banshee4711,
Be sure you are not using the latest driver, lower points than 272.90 driver.

I just joined you guys last month.  I had heard about this earlier, but before last month, I was still running a 512MB GeForce 9800GTX from 2008.  I would have been lucky to finish a work packet at all.  I saved up for a long time and I finally picked up a GTX 1080  Night and day difference.  Now I can be a productive part of the team..  Glad to be with you guys.

Disabling CPU,
open the Advanced Control, right click mouse on the FAH icon in your notification task bar (right next to the clock, bottom right hand corner)
Once open, click on Configure,
click on Slots tab,
click on cpu, then remove at the bottom of the window.
click Save.

You are then good to go with just GPU Folding..

Hi all. I have recently discovered about this folding community and am excited to become a part of it. I have been folding for about 2 weeks now but am struggling getting my points to show on evga my folding page. It must be the name mismatch thing so I looked into changing the name on evga profile but no luck. Could someone please point me where and how can I change it on evga profile? Or alternatively folding app (ideally without losing points)? Thank you!

Andriusst, check the stickies for info on getting passkey. Make sure your evga member profile under Members has a folding name that matches your Stanford client. Forum name does not have to match, but the profile must to get credit.

Hi ipkha,
I have been looking through stickies but I must be blind as I could not find the answer I am looking for. I have a passkey already entered into Stanford client. Do I also need to enter that somewhere in evga profile? I am sure my evga profile name does not match Stanford client. So back to the original question how do I change my evga profile name? It does not look like it can be changed. Or am I looking at the wrong place?
