The ppd does steady out by about 25%, but if you use he PPC for other thing during the process it will of course lower the aily production

Sorry for the misunderstanding, I meant something in direction of wasting electricity on benching. I find folding more productive. (but hey, I like benching too lol )

benchmarking is like using all the power consumption without the joy of playing a game... wonder what happened to the folding points under our names?

Hello everyone. I just started folding yesterday. I'm not really sure if I'm doing everything correctly or not, but things seems to be happening. My folding name and my forum username are different. Is that a problem? I do have a question regarding the EVGA bucks. Are they really obtainable for a smaller system? Folding name = Dirtytrickster

Welcome jwimsett.. Glad to have you on board. I believe the answer I got was to have my name match my Folding name? That was you'll be able to get your EVGABucks? I'm not positive on that but that is what I believe I read early on when I started a few months back. It's a great program and glad to have you on board. :)

Ok. So you're saying that my username and folding name need to match? How can I change my forum username? Also, how can I configure my system to work most efficiently? 3770K 670 sli Win 8

I can't speak to the user name, as mine has always matched the login. It would be much easier to change your folding name, as you would only lose a couple work units' credit at this point. That part is up to you. You have a very good system for folding and will make your bucks and beyond easily. For setting up the client in the most efficient way possible, first, if you haven't already, make sure to be using the v7 client found here. (Scroll down to "Start Folding") Secondly, you will need a passkey to earn bonus points for QRB (quick return bonus). Details on the passkey can be found here. The link to get one is also there. Once you complete 10 WU's, you will begin getting bonus points. Thirdly, you will need to set your GPU slot to client-type advanced in your client options. This will allow you to get the QRB work units on your GPU. The simplest guide I know of is found here. It is up to you if you want to fold on the CPU as well or not. It is not as efficient as the GPUs, but it still will do good work. Outside of the client, you should shut off SLI when running folding, as it is much more effective. You can track your points and your meteoric rise at http://folding.extremeoverclocking.com/user_summary.php?s=&u=646675. These are the basics to getting your system running effectively. Welcome to the team, and feel free to ask any questions you have! There are a lot of people willing to help!

It seemed that way to me at first too, but you will be running the 2 cards separately, and SLI seems to interfere with that. SLI is generally for gaming and not for computing tasks, in my experience.

User name does not have to match folding name- however to get EVGA bucks you need them to match or get an exemption from EVGA staff - ie ROB at EVGA once you get an exemption - then they know that a user name is tied to a particular folding name (and you have it in your user profile) (this is to get people from stealing folding accts or faking point tallies or misrepresenting yourself) mine does not match exactly - a lot here have changed letters - missing letters/numbers - underscores the main thing they know that folding name is for your account - hence exemption...specially if the name is drastically different. close calls like an underscore between your first and last name -don't need it as for your system keep one cpu thread for every 670 - so if you have 3 670 you need three free threads for the new gpu core to work on (once you run them) the thing is is you cpu fold odd number thread counts have a habit of failing sometimes so that means using even number cpu thread counts for your SMP folding ...2 way sli - 6 threads SMP ... 3-way sli -4 threads on SMP.... single gpu - smp 7 or smp6 other than that see about having a stable overclock for the CPU and fold

Welcome, and yes, you should leave one core free for your GPU.

Hello EVGA forums. I think this is my first post. I fold on a team over at overclock.net, but I have a new 780 FTW in my gaming rig that I would like to fold on sometimes, and since I can't use it on my OCN team, I thought I give it a go here. I set my client to team 111065 and I got a new passkey (which I know I will need to complete 10 WUs on). Is there anything else I need to do to fold for EVGA? What do you do to get the EVGA bucks? Thank you.

Make sure that in your Member Home->My Profile page you've entered your folding name so you can earn Bucks. It helps a lot if your folding name is the same as your EVGA account name, otherwise you'll have to PM a mod (EVGA_Rob, I believe) about it. After that, check Community->Folding@EVGA->My Folding. Once you've hit the 250k and 500k marks each month there'll be a button to request your Bucks.

Thank you Zagen. Can you use a passkey you've used before (but aren't currently using with another team)? Also my EVGA account name is valkeriefire and my folding name is Valkeriefire, do you think the capital V makes any difference?

The Bucks program doesn't care which passkey you're using. If that's a general question about passkeys, you can always re-use old passkeys. The only issue with re-using them is that if you've changed your name you'll have to qualify the passkey with that name. The capitalization might be an issue since folding names are case-sensitive, but I'm not sure.

thank you Texinga. I tried to Pm Evga_Rob, but I can't since I don't have 10 posts yet. Can someone else Pm him and request he look at my questions regarding my profile name and my folding name being different by the letter being capitalized? thank you

OK, Rob has already answered me (what a guy)! Here's a copy of his reply: "Hi, Thanks for checking for the new folder! Capitalization differences will not cause any issue with the EVGA Bucks. He is all set. Thanks, Rob"
