Xavier Zepherious check out the contest in the folding contest forum or here You using the tracker? guide and tracker do you have a passkey? to earn bonus points in SMP you need a passkey passkey here if you have further question on Bigadv you should post your system specs and let some seasoned Bigadv folders set you up..if you are interested welcome aboard Hmm, I don't seem to be getting bonus points on bigadv. I am running v7 with -bigadv and correct passkey . (SR-2, X5670@4.32) Slots are configured as SMP with client-type bigadv and max-packet-size big and I get bigadv but only standard points I do not run GPU folding (the GTX590 is for gaming, not cooking)

What is bigadv folding you ask: It's simple. Bigadv folding is folding smp -bigadv WUs (work units) on your PC. The advantage to folding bigadv WUs is that they net much higher points for the folder and thereby for the folding team. What is needed to fold bigadv WUs: -A cpu with 8 threads (e.g. an i7 with Hyper Threading turned on) -A minimum cpu overclock of at least 3.6ghz Who should fold bigadv WUs: -Someone who is able to leave their computer on and folding for at least 19 hours a day Bonus Point: Bigadv WUs (without bonus points) net approximately 8-9k points per WU. These WU's take on average 2.5 days to complete (note: time to WU completion depends on your cpu, overclock, etc.). However, with bonus points a Bigadv WU will net approximately 70k points per WU. In order to qualify for bonus points you need to have folded at least 10 SMP (e.g. CPU) WUs with a passkey that you get from Stanford. You can obtain a passkey from Stanford here ( http://fahweb.stanford.edu/cgi-bin/getpasskey.py). for you - 4 cores - no do regular SMP to get in a bigadv you seriously would have to OC the CPU (and barely get them in) when you get a bigger system (all folders generally do eventually go to BIGADV ) further reading http://folding.stanford.edu/English/FAQ http://folding.stanford.edu/English/FAQ-Configure

I can't post links (POS forum) but if you look at my F@H profile you'll see I have folded many bigadv and bigbeta with bonus (during may/june/july). So why did I lose my bonus? Just for switching teams??? That's f-ing lame I can't believe that so I hope it's a bug?

Its not a bug, when you switch teams you have to reprime your passkey with that team. If you can switch over to regular smp and complete the 10 wu's shouldn't take too long with your system.

it's not that you have to reprime every time you switch back and forth just that you have to prime the key with each team you join

I have learned something new today edit: 10 show up, going to run bigadv or bigbeta which one do you recommend? I have disabled NUMA but are there any other tweaks to be made? Is the 7 an improvement over FAH6? TIA.

Hello all, I'm still getting things figured out. I just started this week folding on the EVGA team, using my 1GB GTX460 Superclocked (01G-P3-1372-AR) to fold away using Stanford's GPU3 client. I'm going to fire up my PS3 tonight and get it started on doing the same. I may download the FAH GPU Tracker V2 . That would let me use both my GPU and CPU to fold at the same time? Though I assume my CPU won't do much as it's only an E6550 Conroe OC'd to 2.93ghz. UPDATE: I may already be folding on my home machine using the GPU3 client, my PS3, and I tried last night to get two of my Dell workstations to run overnight, but I ran into some issues. I'm not sure why I never looked into F@H earlier, my friend mentioned it to me last week which prompted me to delve into it a little deeper.

Hi Guys,
I just started folding about a week ago. While my current rig isn't contributing much, my build in progress will be able to put up some good numbers as soon as its up an running. EVGA's community is so awesome and I'm stoked to be a part of this team!

A wee bit late (ugggg..... work......) but welcome all new folders!!! Hope to see you around for the next challenge which every little bit helps. Don't let the other teams get you down, they are just jealous that they don't have folders like team EVGA :)
