Tried this long time ago but now just getting back into it, just a few days now. I think I need more power to get to 150k a month xP well maybe cause my card is sitting on a 1.0 slot FTL

Welcome to the team

with the 560 ti you should have no problem reaching 360k in a month

with a 570 with SMP on my q6600... I can get 500k per month
running 24/7 (I can make 350k without the CPU running SMP)

when you get the 2600k you can make as many points if not more than your 560 (running bigadv and by OC'ing)

Thanks,

Well i don't run it all day long but maybe enough to do 3-4wu a day now, takes me 3hrs each. I only did 11wu but I notice my points earned is getting lower per wu. Is this normal? Cause my first wu was almost 4k. With 11 done I'm only floating around 14k. This is why I think its gonna take forever lol. But I'm pretty sure since my card is only running at half the speed it should be because of the 1.0 pci-e slot n not the 2.0

watch out for the downclocking issue with newer drivers
266.58 is the best for folding

pcie1.0 is fine for the card
a 580 just maxes out a x8 pcie2.0 slot
pcie 1.0 x16 is equivalent to pcie2.0 at x8

Downclocking? hmmm.. My memory clock is running at half the speed @ 2106Mhz than 4212Mhz. I thought it was cause of my 1.0 slot. But the other two, core & shader clocks are normal at 900Mhz & 1800Mhz.

LZ_Xray saying hi.

I fold with:

Machine 1:
i7-920 @ 3.4 GHz on EVGA X58 LE mobo (does amazingly well considering the low OC)
EVGA GTX570 at stock clocks (when I'm not around to hear the coil whine)

Machine 2:
i3-2100 on MSI Z68 stock clock
XFX Radeon 6850 @ 825

Usually only folding SMP on both to maintain quiet.

Nice to meet you all.

New folder checking in... I just built a new rig with an i5-2500k and a gtx 580. I figured I would do something useful with it when I'm not gaming :)

I have a gtx 260 not in use now so I may set it up to fold 24/7...

hi everyone , I`m not exactly new but i am with this rig.
well i have an asus p8p67 ws revolution board
i7-2600k
 g.skill ripjaws x ddr3 2200 mhz 2x2 gigs
evga gtx 580
silversrone raven black case corsair H50 ( little on small side for OC )
and a kingwin lazer 1000 psu

ok now the question is . it seems that all its folding is alzeimers DI. now is this normal ? it takes 2 hrs to fold it. but thats all it does is alzeimers DI. and looking at some peoples score . theye might have alot of wu units complete but hardly any score , the otherway around. so im just currious if im doing good with the alzeimers DI or is there away to change it so i get a wu that gives me a higher score .

Welcome to the team

it will switch WU types now and then so you just don't do one type of research

what do you use to fold with? the standard clients?
or do you use FAH GPU tracker?

if you can use the FAH GPU tracker it's easier to use

The guide and tracker
http://forums.evga.com/tm.aspx?m=219556

if you don't have a passkey get one here
http://fah-web.stanford.edu/cgi-bin/getpasskey.py

for CPU(smp & bigadv) folding you have to complete 10 WU with 80% completion to earn bonus points

Re:New EVGA Folder Check-IN 2011/10/04 04:51:11 (permalink)
Hello,
switched from PCGH to EVGA because of the events and bonus stuff ;)
I'm folding 24/7 (no energy costs -> student :D) with
1x Q6600 (will be replaced once BD is out)
1x GTX 460 (2nd one ordered)
1x 8800 GTS 640Mb (mainly because i had an unused PCIe slot )
-> around 21k PPD with 550W power consumption.

But i need to fold 10 new SMP WUs because of the new passkey -.-

I'm good to go if forum account name and my f@h name are the same , right ? Could i use my old f@h name with a different forum account name ?

Greets from austria ;)

Re:New EVGA Folder Check-IN 2011/10/04 05:30:37 (permalink)
account name and fah name have to be the same for evga bucks

I believe you can still use the passkey you already have(if you had one), but it has to be qualified for the new team (10 smp at 80% again)

don't be shy to post the folding points from the other team in your sig either

you can design a sig here

check out the TZC threads in the contest section for some folding fun

Alright , should work then ;)
The Bucks are usable in Austria , right ? Haven't found any info on that so far ^^
As far as i know 1 Buck= 1 Dollar , but how many € would that be ?

I need a new passkey , because i need to use a new username for evga.

Thanks for the link , will make a sig when i get some time !

Hello, checking in as requested!

I assume that my Folding@home username and my Folding@EVGA name are the same and mystically, magically connect in some way? There seemed to be little confirmation involved from either side....
I just want to make sure I am doing this right

Intel Core i7 930 2.8GHz ::: ASUS P6X58-Premium mainboard ::: Dual EVGA GTX460 FPB GPUs in SLI ::: Triple Dell 2005FPW 20" widescreen monitors ::: Corsair HX1000 PSU ::: 4GB Corsair XMS 3 1600 RAM ::: CoolerMaster HAF932 chassis

Re:New EVGA Folder Check-IN 2011/10/05 22:26:17 (permalink)
just make sure your profile name and you folding name in your profile are the same

if you folded before on another team you points cannot be moved over or added
just post them in your sig like I do

when you generate points for the team it will show up on the left hand side (when EVGA does an update)

you can design a sig here
http://piro.pirocast.net/badges/badgemaker.html

if you need to make it smaller just PM me
(that's to make two fit side by side)

is you don't have a passkey get one
http://fah-web.stanford.edu/cgi-bin/getpasskey.py

if you plan to fold with the cpu
you have to do 10 smp WU's (at 80% success) before you earn bonus points for SMP
so don't do Bigadv until you complete those first

easiest way to fold is the tracker
the guide for the tracker is here (and link to tracker)

Hello all, I have been with EVGA for  few years and just decided to join the fold.  I am folding Rig 2 with 3 X SC 570s and 2600K OC'd to 4.8.  I am trying am initial trial with 2 of the 3 X GPUs and CPU with SMP.  My CPU is at 77C and the cards running at 99% are at 66C with Precision fanspeed maxed out.  I have a 2 Delta high speed fans on my H70 maxed out also (sounds like a microwave now...lol)  Can anyone tell me if these temps are okay?

Hello. Checking in. Had heard about folding in the past, but never really explored it. Installed client the other night and have been folding for 2 days. Figured since I leave my machine on usually 24x7, might as well hopefully do some good when I'm not at it.

Cheers,
