the card is 30.00 more then the 680 FTW+ 4G,and is better built and a higher quality. Why should they price it less then a 680FTW+ ? When it was only 30.00 more i was tempted to buy one also just for the better build quality, but then i really thought about it....i didnt need nor would i actually use it as intended and push it .Plus i didnt want to buy the Bot anyways to Oc it .....Me and my 1338 Core FTW are happy as is .

If the decision is up to the AIB's like Nvidia claims, why doesn't EVGA just make 2 versions of the Classified cards, like Intel does with their CPUs? Pay that extra premium for a card with an unlocked bios with overvolting beyond manufacture specification but forfit your warranty. I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one who would go for something like this.

Offering a product with no warranty is not heard of .Wouldn't look good "hey buy this but we wont stand behind it" .You dont want to be known as a company that way.Perceived or not it is bad business .They would have to offer some kind of warranty but then the price would rocket because the warranty is fully on them ,unlike it is now.

Why is it now four days later and still no actual bloody proper answer. I as well as other's have spent hundred's/thousands on these cards and now my warranty only cover's me to get a lesser model! which is absurd and ignoring if it is nvidia or evga fault/problem how is it that the customer has been left to deal with it without any proper annoucement or answer other then meh you spent all that money and we just wanna give you a lesser model. The only current information i have been able to gather is that according to your own terms of warranty if i rma a card you have to provide me a card that you deem to be equal or greater in performance so i would love to know which card is equal to a gtx 680 classified (proper version) or what is better because i can't wait to get that card if i rma.

mathwen I just ordered the 680 Classy on Sunday afternoon - received it tonight and no Evbot plug??? Came on to the forums to discover this. Really, really disappointed as i feel like i paid absolute top $ for the most feature-filled card but didn't get all of them. I assume now that since demand for the classy will likely plumment, the price will go down (meaning i paid basically and "extra" premium) and it will probably be very difficult to pick up another to go SLI in the future. Sort of soured what was supposed to be a fun purchase Did you order it from EVGA, Newegg or Amazon?

curious is the part number changed. or if the order of the Serial changed. on the cards that have the connector missing. This could help people buying them, not to have to open their box and can send back immediately if it is over the said Serial #. Save on restocking fees etc, when boxes are never opened. Edited to note: mine - part # 04G-P4-3688-KR with connector was this format -- 12106336880002XX -- so the 200 something card made, its registered so giving this out shouldn't be an issue. Can someone with a card w/o connector confirm their serial format up front say the '1210633688' number area, is it the same or different.

Ah crap, I have one from Newegg arriving today so most likely I am screwed. Was thinking that they have so much in stock I would still get an EVBot one. Maybe if EVGA will swap it out for an EVBot plug one since I ordered it before the announcement or I will just return it as defective. Not going to pair an EVBot Classified that really clocks awesome (1430 MHz @ 57 C max temp air cooled) at 1.35v up with a non-EVBot one in my SLI setup when I already have the EVBot.

Exactly. Not really sure what i am going to do at this point. I now am starting to wonder if the non-Evbot cards even still have the additional power phases and souped up internals since you can't overclock them as they were designed.

I got over this already..... So what if they remove the ev-port. Go contact the guy on the forums who does custom bios. Flash the bios and unlock your voltages and throttle and all that crap that way. If you ever have to RMA it then flash the old Bios back. Done and done. Oh and might I add, BE HAPPY..... that you still have the evport classifieds. Others do not and purchased with that intention. Your still covered under Evga if something does happen to your classy with evport. Just OC and OV carefully, find that stable 24/7 clock and enjoy. That's my plan at-least...

Sorry Matt, i did not mean to make a disparaging comment about EVGA's products. I know the card is still awesome and i will continue to purchase EVGA as i have never had a problem with any of the cards or motherboards i have used from your company. It just really sucks for us who bought these cards right at the end of last month before we knew Evbot was not an option and we also didn't get the $30 rebate now being offered as of 10/1 or the free game. I will get over it and enjoy the card for what it is i just wish i had waited a little longer is i could have at least taken advantage of the rebate.

This is official NVIDIA response: Some of our best and most passionate customers have told us (though forums, partners and directly) that they are frustrated with our position on GPU Overvoltaging. So we feel that it is important to explain exactly what our position is and why we feel that it is important. We love to see our chips run faster and we understand that our customers want to squeeze as much performance as possible out of their GPUs. However there is a physical limit to the amount of voltage that can be applied to a GPU before the silicon begins to degrade through electromigration (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electromigration). Essentially, excessive voltages on transistors can over time "evaporate" the metal in a key spot destroying or degrading the performance of the chip. Unfortunately, since the process happens over time it's not always immediately obvious when it's happening. Overvoltaging above our max spec does exactly this. It raises the operating voltage beyond our rated max and can erode the GPU silicon over time. In contrast, GPU Boost always keeps the voltage below our max spec, even as it is raising and lowering the voltage dynamically. That way you get great performance and a guaranteed lifetime. So our policy is pretty simple: - We encourage users to go have fun with our GPUs. They are completely guaranteed and will perform great within the predefined limits.
- We also recommend that our board partners don’t build in mechanisms that raise voltages beyond our max spec. We set it as high as possible within long term reliability limits.
The reason we have a limit on max voltage is very simply to prevent damage to the GPU chips. At NVIDIA we know that our customers want to push their GPUs to the limit. We are all for it, and as a matter of fact NVIDIA has always prioritized support for hardware enthusiasts by providing tools to access hardware settings and by supporting our board partners in creating overclocked enthusiast products. Leading up to the GeForce GTX 680 release for example, we worked closely with developers of 3rd party overclocking utilities to make sure they fully supported GeForce GTX 680 and GPU Boost on the day of launch.

I'm ok with 1.35v on my two classifieds as they are both kept under 60 C max and the next gen of GPU's are less than six months away. But ya, if you buy a 680 Classified and want it to last three years I wouldn't run it at 1.35v IMO.

i guess i am sadden to see that we will be paying high dollar to be capped on excellent products with 3yr warranty so i vote to bring back lifetime warranty for high dollar products, then on nvidia budget for cost or issue refund on nvidia behalf lol.evga stand behind their product and nvidia cowards over someting stupid i guess i will pass on upgrading next year and keep the cards i have.

Deathstroke44 masterpmi curious is the part number changed. or if the order of the Serial changed. on the cards that have the connector missing. Can someone with a card w/o connector confirm their serial format up front say the '1210633688' number area, is it the same or different. mine is 1210633688.......8xx and has the evbot connector, ill let you know what the one i just bought has, it should be in today, ill update when i find out if it, too, has or does not have the connector. Nice, thanks, I have another coming in today from TD, hope to get some without EVBot Connector to get some sort of cut off line reference in SN#'s.
