Hi guys, I'll be buying a fourth 680 Classified this week: do you think it will be a "smarter" idea if I buy it on Amazon?, I had also considered NewEgg since I got the ones I have from them a few months ago, but I'm really unsure right now, because I want it to have the EVBot connector.

So EVGA had offered to send me a new 680 classy w/evbot plug if i RMA the one i got without. Well I just got my RMA and it too does not have an EVbot connector. I PM'd Matt to see how they want to handle it. This is turning out to be more headache then its worth.

Wonder if EVGA will consider adding AMD GPU's in the future.. not that I'm a fan of AMD, but EVGA is considered an enthusiast's brand, and it's going to be a little difficult maintaining that market share if it only stocks GPU's that have performance restrictions compared to a competing brand. Will be interesting to see what NVidia do with the 7xx series, particularly if AMD get up to speed and do not add similar restrictions.

Is it planning to still don't support EVBot / voltage control on future graphic card models or is EVGA planning to do something to retainable their reputation?

Well, I have been holding out all this time to buy a 680 for the Classified Hydro Coppers to be released, (since I've never owned a Classified HC card before, yet always wanted one) and I think I have to say that I'm a bit disappointed now that I have one, and owe it all to the lack of voltage tweak. I just received my new 680 Classy HC yesterday, and installed it today. As far as how it looks, I give it two thumbs up, and what's so unfortunate about the lack of EVBot compatibility is that it's obvious that, with more voltage, this card would absolutely scream. I just finished running Heaven on a constant loop for an hour while running what appears to be my max stable clock of 1296MHz, and it barely broke a sweat. Afterburner won't let me turn up the volts any more than 1.175V, and the real killer here is that the temps are just so low!! After an hour of Heaven (overclocked and all) my max temp was 37C. I would have had SO much headroom to add more volts and overclock this card like crazy, but instead it's locked down like a pitbull in a tiny cage..........what a crying shame.

Oh so it happend! Classified costs the same as the FTW+! Atleast in the Scandinavian shop Komplett.dk. - Which is metioned on EVGA site. I think I am pretty sure I go with the Classified. http: //www.komplett.dk/k/ki.aspx?sku=759273 - Classified http://www.komplett.dk/k/ki.aspx?sku=758974 - 680 FTW+ Classified 500kr cheaper! Which is like 68 Euro cheaper then it was befor! Somhow the FTW+ dropped in price aswell though alitte less then the Classified did. But for som reason they are the same price level now, which is very awesome! --------------------- UPDATE: Heard they removed the EVBOT from the Classified. But with the same price tag as the FTW+, the Classified still beats it. Though not much reason for overclockers to buy it, if the price tag is different. So this mind be why its getting cheaper. Anyway Classified for me still. Was never sure I would use the EVBOT anyway or pay for it, in my future plans. Update: Still this Classified mess is a major screw up. I feel like it this is som sort of hidden pre-order bonus to have a EVBOT connector with you Classified now. Which is insanely messed up, since you would normally get a time limit or heads up ;) Silly somhow that people get to keep being allowed to use it with EVBOT + warranty safety and somhow not. Its fair cause they paid for it already, but how will they explain it to Nividia and there other customers who have been waiting for let's say the HC version? What is there great reward for having patience with EVGA? They have to make up for there mess even its not all there fault. And thats with a serious price tag + reward. And now its a gamble whenever you get one with or without EVBOT connector, that choose if your getting full value or not, out of your product. Aswell how will they justify som get to use it with warranty and som don't? If I was a overclocker and knew this, I would be bloody quick about it and my buy just to be sure that I got the connector if I wanted to get full use of my product in the future or rage like a bugger. Lucky I didn't have those plans, but alot others had. Its really down to whats metioned above. Lower price tag + give a major bonus to those unlucky souls who end up with the flawed product, new or old buyers. It still flawed. Nividia's fault or not. EVGA still had/have the responsibility to put up the big fat red capital letters on the front page, telling people they have been "flushed" over by Nividia. Hope my "speach" is not to harsh cause I still find EVGA great and reliable. But they have to step up to the task, as they normally would. Past don't excuse the slack/lack of info ;)

Well isn't this an interesting turn of events!!! I have one card of my 4 with a wonky fan that I was about to RMA, though the customer support guy I spoke with said they still have some old classifieds around that can do the evbot I am worried about the hassle of getting one of the new ones without it so I might just water cool. I am also worried if I keep these cards for a while and a year or two from now 1 or 2 of them have some issues and I RMA what card will I get? I am sure this NVIDIA stuff is a headache for EVGA but it is a REAL headache for us end users. On a nice note if we all choose to sell our classifieds with evbot to fund our next round of upgrades in say 6 months ;) we will have a VERY limited edition card and might get a decent price for em. The question then becomes whether NVIDIA and EVGA have a product for us enthusiasts to upgrade to (as in one with voltage control) ;)

if you look just to the left of your two 8pin power supply plugs as if the card is oriented as if it is being put into the case horizontally with the back of the pcb facing up on the card there should be a smaller 6 pin plug right next to the power connectors. If you see that you have the evbot connector, if not sorry bro

Yeah, there is a small square plug right next to the power connectors. Its the size of a 6 pin but it only has 5 pins in it. After looking at some pics of other cards, i think mine do have the evbot connector! I'm stoked

trout4u The question then becomes whether NVIDIA and EVGA have a product for us enthusiasts to upgrade to (as in one with voltage control) ;) Pretty obvious, that the days of legal/allowed over volting is done. The fact that they actually kaboshed a product tht had already been released for 3 months tells you they are willing to lose customers to save on their bottom line. Had they not allowed the Classified to begin with, even after development but before sales, I would say we may still see it in the future. w/e its all bs.

Got one last week from them still had the connector, confimred other users about the Serial #, ending below xxx1000 seems to be OK with connector. Of course only had like 2 people actually reply, sorry this forum isnt too active except for fanbois that dont own them anyways, or people that only post to complain.

All I can say is that if I need an RMA for any of these 4 680 classifieds with EVBOT while under warranty I will not accept a replacement without the EVBOT connector as that is what I purchased and I have 2 EVBOTs. I am considering an RMA for a card with a bad fan right now but might just watercool instead ... I think it likely I would get a card with evbot adapter if I do the RMA now but if I do not do it till say next year what happens? If they do not have the EVBOT version I would expect nothing less than an exchange to the 780 or 880 (step up style)... hopefully they are planning for that with step up style upgrades or are gathering a stockpile of the classifieds with evbot just for us ;)

Might want to read the Warranty and take note of what EVGA has already said about RMA work on these cards. Im sorry but its funny you would expect a 700 series card for a older gen card, its done by performance not dollar value .

Im sorry but its funny you would expect a 700 series card for a older gen card, its done by performance not dollar value . Why do you need to be so rude and violent with your statement that has nothing to do with you and could have been said much more constructively!!! We purchased these with evbot connectors we also purchased evbots. I SIMPLY SAID IF THEY CANNOT GIVE ME THE CARD I HAVE I WANT the new equivalent (yes they might give me a mid range card) but in this case they SEVERELY limited the replacement lifespan of this card (whether or not it is their fault) and this is out of the norm the whole classified fiasco is actually and I would hope/expect them to do us right. Also for the record I was venting my frustration... you can link to the post I may have missed and do it nicely or please leave me be! edit: I am sorry if I used to strong of language for this forum, but what is with acting like that towards me ... I recently purchased 4 classifieds and 2 evbots and LOTS of other evga gear and I want to know I will be taken care of when I buy their flagship product ..l. that is all ... not intending to cause ill will and I can remove my comment if required. edit: strong comment removed
