furmark is like a gpu virus so its intentionally programed not to run max clocks. This is normal and will apply to everyone even if you used LN2 while running the stress test

also, thank you for using boost lock to show us your clocks! this gives a good indication of what your card is packing. Nice card you got there

I have to say though, at your current settings you are getting 1,950Mhz with +0 core.
Your clocks are not bad! i would say it's normal and generally on the good side that theoretically you can reach 2,100Mhz because many cards do not. But the card isnt a lottery winner either. The best you can do is get better cooling because it seems to be a tad toasty. is 44c idle? would you consider investing in a waterblock? it will make a big difference for your card in particular

Ahh ok thanks. Yes that was idle temp (but boost lock) with 100% fans, and I also have power management mode inside the nvcp set to max performance globally as an effort to stop the brief black screens.. it didn't work apparently.

I have everything ready to install a full CPU+GPU loop with 2 x 280mm radiators, just waiting to find a GPU block somewhere that doesn't cost $400 lol.

I just had another extremely brief black screen while checking my email, nothing else open but browser. This time it was just a flicker though, and I heard the fans start to spin up for a moment too. Damn. I've had a few of them now, some up to 5-10 seconds long.

Re: New 3DMark DX12 RT benchmark results 2020/11/19 12:32:37 (permalink)
when i opened up the backplate i saw the thermal pads were only covering 1/3rd of the area that they are supposed to
I immediately replaced the pads and saw better temps and less issues.
You will benefit a lot once you have your loop set up! Since it involves you taking apart your card and changing out the thermal paste (for a better one) wiping off the terrible putty and replacing it with a superior pads, getting better contact because you will be hand installing the block, ext. all of these will benefit you and what you will find is that you will get less random black screens and general hiccups
Also, you will notice after doing the above mentioned things, that even at the same temperature your clocks will be better because there will be less leakage from your gpu!
I'm still waiting for my block but its getting tiresome as my setup has been ready for a while now and the company just delayed it some more

Thanks for the reassurances. I'm hoping the brief black screens are a driver issue.. I just did a full fresh windows install to try to alleviate it, but nope. Are you waiting on the Optimus block? I was in for the 2nd batch but recently decided against it, just too much $ for a block, and they were fine refunding me. I'm still torn over it. Hoping EK come out with one soon, but yeah, spent a truckload on the full loop and it's all just sitting in a box waiting for that one item.

yes i was considering asking for a refund. I'm sure the performance is phenomenal but they took money a full month in advance and still havent delivered on the product. For the ridiculous price of that block they shouldnt be late

Turns out it will go quite a bit higher just on boost lock. Got a little bit higher than below but started having stability issues. Not going to handle this clock on full load obviously.

RTX 3090 FTW3 Ultra 55.37 fps  Blai5e default run (on air until a w/block can be sourced)  new run further down

Installed in one of those new EKBW vertical GPU holders which is impressively sturdy (with plenty of room to breathe well away from the Phanteks 719 T/G side panel) but was a bugger to fit as I have a Phanteks D140 distro plate to contend with but I managed.

Just got my 3080 Black.
44.24fps
 / dxr / 27616

That said - i'm getting REALLY bad benchmarks results.

Timespy graphics score: 15 363
Time Spy Extreme Graphics score: 8 118
Fire strike Ultra Graphic score: 10 474
Port Royal: 10 910

Have i7 8700, 16GB 3200 RAM, Asus Rog z370-h Gaming with latest BIOS.
Driver 457.30
Also GPU-Z reports the card is running in PCIe x8 3.0 - tried to set everything to GEN3 to no avail.

What's going on? Anyone? I'm going nuts here!

Yeah you're needing that to be pcie 3.0 x16 for sure. When you click the rendering test in gpuz does it bump up to x16 or stay at x8?

The rendering test is right on the gpuz home screen. Click the little question mark beside the pcie bus speed part

DAMMIT!! Civ V just crashed again after about 30 minutes of play. No NVDX... error, just shut itself down and I'm back at the desktop with Steam open.
I think it's RMA time come Monday.
