Updated. Congrats to Sync0r for making the top of the list with a score of 63.02 on his (checks notes) Zotac?!? 3090 Trinity. Will an EVGA card be able to reclaim the top spot?

Also looks like Tripod1990 and bavor are tied for 12th. One of you guys needs to step it up!

BTW, thank you to everyone who makes it clear they are resubmitting a new score. It makes updating a LOT easier.

Zotac at the top? The Zotac is even using an EVGA VBIOS. ROFL.

Oh, I also took the liberty of color coding the entries on the leaderboard to easier delineate between types of GPUs.

I don't suppose this is too bad on my current system.  EVGA 2080Ti FTW3 Ultra 33.52  https://www.3dmark.com/dxr/16381

With sadness, I think I am going to be returning my unopened 3090 FTW3.  My build for that is waiting on a backordered 5950X, which they are saying could push into March (yikes).  Given some of the problems people are experiencing with their 3090's, I thought it best just to try again when I can complete my build.  Maybe a Kingpin card will be in my near future...or who knows maybe early issues will be ironed out by then and I'll go back with the FTW3.

How long have you had your 3090 ftw3 waiting for the rest of the build?

Not long.  About two weeks now I think its been.  I was thinking I'd have the CPU by the end of the month (November), but in all honesty, AMD's launch seems to be worse than Nvidia's GPU launch for getting product out.

I seem to be hitting a wall at 60fps on this benchmark with my 3090 FTW3 Ultra. For those of you hitting significantly over 60, what settings are you using in Precision X?

I am running the default OC BIOS that came on the card with that little switch, although I think that only gives a more aggressive fan curve rather than upping voltage limits or anything else, so perhaps that is a big part of the problem - that I need to install that XOC BIOS?

My Precision X settings to get 60.01fps (http://www.3dmark.com/dxr/16857) about half an hour ago were:

Memory clock: +1250
GPU clock: +200
Voltage: +100 (maximum)
Power target: 107 (maximum)
GPU temp: 91 (maximum)
Fans: 100% all fans
Ambient temp: 78F

..but I was getting very similar fps results with memory clock at +500 and GPU at +200.. memory clock doesn't seem to have much impact at all.
At memory +500 and GPU +205 I still only got 59.88fps.

Do you have Boost Lock switched on while running the benchmark?

Any other explanations why I might be hitting this wall, other than just maybe an average chip?

CPU is i9-9900k running at 5.0GHz on all cores and running on an AiO cooler, RAM 3600MHz. ..maybe the CPU clock and RAM clock have a lot more influence on this score..?

Thanks in advance for any tips.

p.s. look at these two results of mine:

https://www.3dmark.com/dxr/16857 60.01 fps with 2175 GPU clock, 2115 avg, and 1369 mem clock, 1369 avg.
https://www.3dmark.com/dxr/15979 60.02 fps with 2160 GPU clock, 2080 avg, and 1285 mem clock, 1243 avg.  - how is this one higher fps?

test with fresh reboots and make sure no programs are running in the background

I think your doing very well and your scores are great. I believe they designed this benchmark for ppl at the very high end to target 60fps
perhaps your temps are getting too high. Also your memory oc could be stealing from your overall power budget so your always better off maxing out the core clock and then messing with memory second.
One thing i noticed, even if it sounds counterintuitive

If you had for example :
2115mhz max and 2100 average @ 60c
vs
2115mhz max and 2100 average @ 50c

you will notice that performance and fps increase at the lower temperature even though the Mhz max and average are identical! if you were able to run identical clocks at 10c colder your performance will improve materially
These cards scale very very well with temperature!

since your on the 450w bios i would like you to try running your voltage slider at the minimum instead of the maximum. You will notice you can increase your core offset this way. Try it and report back your new results

That better score 60.02 has lower mem clock.  I got better scores with lower mem clock. Anything you can do to get ambient down will jump scores up a lot. I am using 500 watt Bios.

Power limit, run MSI Afterburner with the limit reason overlay enabled, display volts and power usage as well.  You will see at what points in the benchmark its limiting you.

I re pasted card  twice  with Kingpin paste 1st time temp stay about the same at 22 c ambient and OC at about  72 c . That was about the same as paste on new card and re pasted with same OC setting with Kingpin paste again and temp went down to 68 c . I don't know what I did different the 2nd time, but made a big change. Fans running full speed.

test with fresh reboots and make sure no programs are running in the background

Thanks for all the tips, very much appreciated.

xxDarkxx & telehog - yeah it's a little warm in our home office..  me and my Mrs are telecommuting every day, and she likes it toasty warm, so.. "happy wife, happy life" - therefore the ambient temp is going to stay up in the 78F range, lol. The good news is that I've already paid for an OptimusPC GPU block (2nd batch) so I will hopefully see that in early December, so that will change the situation, plus it'll mean a repaste of course, if the current one is lacking. I'll try tonight pulling the voltage slider back and easing off the mem clock as well and concentrate on the core clock then.

Sync0r - I used to run Afterburner for years, I only started using Precision again when I got my 2080Ti Hybrid late last year. I think GPU-Z stand-alone will give me the same info though right? AIDA64 Extreme may also give that info, I'll have to check. I may belay hitting the card too hard until I have it on water, then I'll try the 500W bios. I have an EVGA 850 T2 PSU which should handle it.

Frustrating that I have everything else sitting here ready to build a full CPU/GPU loop other than a GPU block. Kind of tempted to build the CPU side now (currently running EVGA CLC280, switching to an Optimus V2 block on the loop) but then I will have to pull it all apart again in a few weeks, so best to just wait. Time is a precious commodity for me due to work and family commitments.

Thanks again, and if you have any other thoughts, I'm all ears.

Cheers!

Got a wee bit more out of it (new score). Can't wait to get a Hybrid cooler on this bad boy!
