I want to buy a gaming laptop, I am not a pc guy till date, and I don't know how to pick the best configuration gaming laptop, I heard earlier that - for gaming, a good graphics card is needed. My friend suggested I buy an gaming laptop, I want to buy a Lenovo laptop with an graphics card because my earlier experience with Lenovo is too good, I visited the Lenovo website, and there is this link:  for intel arc, but I am not able to make a decision right now to go with or not. please help me. thanks,

In order for me to give you some advice in this area I'd need to know what your budget is for a gaming laptop. Lenovo is a good laptop company ever since they bought out the IBM thinkpad division years ago. What model of Lenovo laptop were you thinking of purchasing? There are also other companies available.

AMD Ryzen 9 7950X,  Corsair Mp600 Pro M.2, 32GB Corsair DDR5  X670E Steel Legend, MSI RTX 4090 Associate Code: H5U80QBH6BH0AXF. I am NOT an employee of EVGA

if you set a budget, this helps you limit your search to a screen & GPU combo that will work.

i5 or i7 CPU can save you some money, look for 16 GB of RAM or more & main drive = M.2 SSD

What games are you interested in playing ?

What resolution ?

Screen refresh rate you need or want?

Read hardware reviews & game reviews to see what should work best within your budget

You pay a BIG premium for gaming laptops vs desktop PC ... so is portability a Need?

Gaming and laptop should not be in the same sentence.

Simply laptop thermals are weak to disperse heat generated by gaming, unless you favor low resolution and low game settings.

Like Coo GTX pointed consider a powerful gaming desktop for the price of the "gaming laptop"

Desktop always best option for gaming unless you need the portability a laptop offers.

Intel's ARC A350M seems to be their best laptop GPU, and from what I see, it seems about on par with the RTX 3050 laptop GPU, a bit behind the RTX 3050-Ti laptop GPU, & not even a competitor against the RTX 3060 laptop GPU.  I mention these three because I've seen them in the same price range as the ARC equipped laptops.

If you insist on a laptop, Lenovo makes an absolutely solid one.  I've tried many others and always come back to Lenovo (what I'm typing on right now).

However I would avoid an Arc graphics card at all cost. Too buggy, drivers not optimized, and not a very good price to performance ratio.  I would stick with an Nvidia RTX 3XXX or 4XXX series GPU (whatever fits your budget).

Best advice I can give you is don't buy any laptop has ARC GPU in it till five years later after they work out all big kinks. Go with laptop has Nvidia or AMD GPU. and Yes Lenovo is rocking.

I would kind of disagree since it’s not like Intel is new to graphics. They have for years made integrated graphic solutions. While the built in graphics on a CPU are not the best option it does give them understanding of graphics technology that they took into making stand alone GPU’s. Also if Intel knows one thing it’s how to make solid drivers.

For the original posters question what games are you looking to play? Laptops are pretty good for playing most games that have been out for a couple years but some new releases they can struggle on.
