Like the idea of 3x DP and 1x HDMI. I means true 1-slot cooling solutions are viable again. That new interlink connector. I'm sure we'll hear more about it in detail in due time.

The issue with ditching DVI is that will leave people that want a new card and have HDMI and DVI monitors that will either need an adapter or a new monitor. If it happens to come out in Q4 I might not care, but right now that is an issue for me unless it has extra HDMI on it.

It's just gone full circle now. It's HDMI-to-DVI instead of DVI-to-HDMI. A $10 adapter isn't something I see as a deal breaker.

What SLi? - the new link is NVlink

look at the photo again - you think the connection on TOP of the card is PCIe??

Yeah, I know now that it appears to be NVlink, just reversed. I wasn't aware of NVlink on their Quadro line until I started seeing this discussion on other sites. I wasn't saying it was PCIe, just that it's physical appearance looked like it.

GPU manufacturers usually give you adapters with the card anyway. They'll surely include a HDMI-to-DVI-D adapter if the card doesn't have DVI anymore.

There were some one-slot cards recently; the EVGA 1080 Ti K|NGP|N Hydro Coppers had a DVI, HDMI, and three mini DisplayPorts to make it one-slot.

If that was nvlink, wouldnt it be half width of standard nvlink?

As you can see here, it is only one “finger” and it is reversed:

Quadro has two “fingers”:

Maybe they are calling this next gen SLI since it isn't the same setup as the nvlink?

It’s also unlikely someone would spend over $700 on a graphics card and have a DVI only monitor in the first place. Maybe on the 1150 & 1160 it might come up but not on the flagship.

I'd guess two things.
1Nv link is more or less pcie if you really dig into it.

2 it's probably reversed on this card to make it physically in compatible with quadro/pro cards nvlink parts.

As to why Nvidia is including it rather than go across pcie bus. Im guessing its probably a latency thing. Why go GPU to CPU to GPU when you can go GPU to GPU direct and cut out the middle man.

Also please for the love of God kill dvi on cards. The last few cards it has served zero purpose but to obstruct air flow on blower cards.

The new graphics card is a custom air-cooled solution that is yet to be introduced by MAXSUN. It is part of their new iCRAFT brand which is already available as part of their Z370 motherboards and will be expanded to graphics cards when the new GeForce products hit the market.

Looking at the post times, wccftech posted it 14 hours ago, videocardz post it 9 hours ago at the time of this post. So that means wccftech posted it first.

EDIT: videocardz must have the posted time incorrect. Looking at the first submitted comment, both sites shows 14 hours ago.

I honestly believe it couldn't have come at a better time for the performance demand of a 4K panel @ 144hz or higher (higher hz or surround).

The left and center fan turn the same direction. Only the right fan is different.

Good eye.

Same principal as the Sapphire design. Supposed to optimize cooling by better channeling airflow between fans.

RUMOR: NVIDIA Allegedly Branding Next-Gen GeForce As RTX 20 Series

Titan RTX 50% Faster Than 1080 Ti, RTX 2080 8 GB GDDR6 50% Faster Than 1080, RTX 2070 7 GB GDDR6 40% Faster Than 1070

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 20 Series Rumors – New Lineup With Turing To Feature RTX 2080, RTX 2070, GTX 2060 Graphics Cards With GDDR6 Memory, Titan RTX With HBM2

So the post is nothing more than a rumor but given the latest NVIDIA trademarks, the new naming convention might just make sense to be introduced with the upcoming GeForce lineup. Recently, a couple of new names were trademarked by NVIDIA which include Quadro RTX, GeForce RTX and a range of VR names which references back to their Virtual Link technology that is expected to intro on the upcoming lineup.

Me neither.

I don't see nVidia replacing GTX with RTX in the name of their gaming cards. Introducing ray tracing to gaming cards does not merit a name change. That would have been like nVidia changing GTX to TTX when they introduced tessellation on the 400 series cards.

Ah ha! I totally agree that it is 8+2 phase, not ten phase. I thought the same thing he though when I first looked at it. It looked like 10 phase on the right +2 memory at the left side, but that didn't make sense to me. 8 phase power +2 memory on the right makes more sense +2 on the left for vpp or pll or whatever function those serve. I am glad for the sanity check.

I also wondered if they will exclude some phases on the cheaper cards to cut some costs. NVIDIA could cut it down to 4 +2 on the low end cards and still have a pathetic margin of safety and crap power limit similar to the vanilla 1080s.
