Re: NU Audio Driver Release v0.2.1.10 (Win10) 2020/03/21 16:29:24 (permalink)
Now i tested the nu audio card in my 2. PC where the nu audio card was never before installed and only the onboard sound card (Realtek) was used with Win default drivers.

Same problem then in my 1. PC with the latest tests:
> now i am possible to use quick EQ
> advance EQ same issue (only function from -11 to 0 )

Overview of PCs:

1. PC
AMD 3700X CPU
Asus MB B450 Chipset
16GB RAM
AMD Vega 64
Win 10 64 bit - 1909
Driver  v0.2.1.2
FW v0.32

2. PC
AMD 3400G CPU
Asus MB A320 Chipset
16GB RAM
Win 10 64 bit - 1909
Driver v0.2.1.10
FW v0.32

So it looks like there an Driver v0.2.1.10 installtion issue in PC1 so that i can´t use newest driver to use EQ, so i have go back to v0.2.1.2

ON PC2 there was no problem with driver v0.2.1.10 to install .... But anyway, same issue with EQ.

For me it looks like the FW is the problem .

@EVGATech_LeeM: Please give an possibility to downgrade FW , so that i can test more .

I had said it once and i have to repeat it. The Nu Audio Card is a wonderful piece of hardware , but SW is an disaster.

Thx.

So long.

Update: This evening i want to use Teamspeak and i have scratch ton . Man man man, this software is so buggy

1. To my question for downgrade Firmware (Firmware Downgrade) i have found solution:

I download old driver "EVGA NU Audio_0.1.1.0_WIN10" and this driver install older Firmware v027. After this i can go to my last working firmware 0.30 from driver package  0.212. See screenshot.

2. But now i thinked i all is working fine again. No still i can´t use adavanced EQ
The good thing,  Teamspeak is working well.

3. But before i begin this new journey of driver installations 2 days agao, i set in windows an system restore point manually.  See screenshot.
And now with my "old" firmware  and restored windows >>>  can´t use adavanced EQ .  .How is this possible ?

4. To find a solution i read a lot of threads here in forum and i found this one:
https://forums.evga.com/unresponsive-audio-effects-tab-m2982186-p2.aspx
EVGATech_LeeM
So, the good news is that I hear we have a driver from Nahimic that is currently undergoing testing and it looks good so far.  ETA for an integrated driver is next week.

.......Interestingly, the Advanced EQ halfway works.  Any adjustments below zero work fine.  Any adjustments above zero have no effect.  .....

same problem here with 0.2.0.7

That's overpower protection kicking in.  This happens if master volume is 100% and some EQ settings are pushed into positive territory.  Lower master volume a little and you should be able to get EQ working again.

This happens if master volume is 100% and some EQ settings are pushed into positive territory.  Lower master volume a little and you should be able to get EQ working again.

How funny, this post is round about an half year ago and i forgott it. Also due the fact, that i haven´t problem with the advanced EQ since driver 0.212.

>>> I have to reduce "Master Volume" less then 79% and the advanced EQ is working. I can believe it.

So now i have always to remember, if i use @ my keyboard (Corsair K70) the wheel for changing loudness to not exceed the value of 77%. So i hope remember ... but after this bad trip. i think i will do.

So now in moment the advanced EQ is working. But i am curios what happen in future. Windons update or ASmedia driver update and problem begins again ? And what is with quick equilzer . This is still not working...

Additionally i call Amazon if its possible to refund money, because i think the promised function (quick + advanced EQ) are not working:
https://de.evga.com/articles/01281/evga-nu-audio/
and all my forum entries here will help to substantiate my  reasons and charges.

ByeBye.

Sadly the RGB on the card is stuck in all-white. The modes all work but clicking on the color selector brings nothing up - Definitely a bug.

Since you reset the firmware, have you tried reinstalling the latest driver?  If the Quick EQ has stopped working or doesn't work, I'd uninstall the drivers, reboot, remove the EVGA Nahimic folder in Program Files, and then reinstall the latest driver.

If there are issues due to a Windows update, we'll do our best to patch it as soon as we notice it or members report it.  Similarly, there is always a chance there could be a need for an update to the ASMedia driver, especially for those on an AMD chipset.  We will update those, as necessary as well.

Haven't run into this issue yet.  What have you done so far to troubleshoot it?

Hey there! So far, I've removed the drivers and software, then reinstalled. Removed the card, tried in another slot, same issue. It's just with the last 2 software updates I have this issue.

In also discussing with our engineers, it's likely that there is a hardware issue with the card.  I'll have someone from our Customer Service reach out to you.

Thanks for your email!

I should note for the community that this issue I believe to be software. The other pre-determined color modes work just fine, like rainbow for example. The card's LEDs work. When i choose sonic (reactive) for example, even when i unlink the elements, clicking on the color doesn't bring up the color-picker. It used to work.

Has anyone found that they can't launch the control panel software after they have minimized it when Windows boots?

Hi Everyone, here's the latest driver for the NU Audio Cards...  [snip!] Let us know what you think, or if you run into any issues.

This driver apparently can't handle logging out and logging back into Windows. I'm using Windows 10 Pro x64 with this latest driver, and the problem is 100% repeatable. Here's how you make it happen:
  1. Log into your Windows account. You'll hear the usual system sounds. Feel free to play music or whatever you like.
  2. Log out of your Windows account by pressing the Start button, clicking the tiny account picture above the power, settings, pictures, and documents mini-icons.
  3. Log back into your Windows account. You won't hear any usual system sounds or anything else you play.
Seems like the drivers still need work. Let me know if I can do anything to help diagnose.

I can't reproduce this.  After signing out / signing in, I launch foobar2000 and begin playing audio without issue.  Is there some other type of audio or application you're using that I could also test?

Any warning signs in Device Manager?  I'm assuming you've tried to reinstall the driver, correct?

What fixes the no audio for you?  Restarting?

Which Windows build?

I'm using the VLC media player for testing, but no other audio applications work either. No warning signs in device manager, everything appears to be working correctly. I have tried reinstalling the driver, yes, it makes no difference. So far, the only thing I've found that fixes the audio issue is restarting. As to Windows version, it's Windows 10 Pro x64 [Version 10.0.18362.720].

I don't know if it helps, but I've also found the same thing happens if I connect to the machine using Remote Desktop. Once I've connected to it via remote desktop, logging in at the machine itself means no audio until I restart. I don't know if that provides another potential problem vector, or if it's the same underlying issue, but I thought I'd report it as well.

I'm getting a frustratingly high number of BSOD's resulting from the bundled ASMedia USB 3.0 driver, specifically asmtxhci.sys. I wasn't even able to launch Windows into safe mode without an instant BSOD, so I had to install Windows on a separate drive, redownload the ASMedia driver and copy it over to my existing installation.

I have reinstalled this driver and nahimic audio software several times and I have some problems.  All audio effects options for input and output are greyed out; no more quick/advanced eq options; in eq options i am not able to select individual frequencies; same problem as above with driver error 0x0001.  The software for this audio card is terrible, it is quite frankly horse sh..!  How long do we have to wait for a fix?

I can certainly agree with your frustrations, but it's probably worth pointing out that Creative Labs was known for garbage drivers for 15 - 20 years before they got their act together. EVGA has already done better right out of the gate for the most part.

To people having issues updating or reinstalling drivers. Go to Uninstall the drivers.  Go to C:/Users/YOUR PROFILE NAME/AppData/Local/ and delete the EVGA Folder. If you have any other EVGA Hardware besides the Nu Audio card do not delete the whole folder, instead open the EVGA folder and delete the folder stating with NUA.exe in its name. then go to File Explorer, Right Click My PC and go to properties, Advanced System Settings or another way is control panel, All control panel items, System, Click Advance system settings, then system property's window should open. Go to the Hardware tab. Should be the second tab. Click Device installation settings. Select no and click save changes. Reboot system, Delete all files where the driver was installed on your computer then run the Driver installation..

Does anyone have a comprehensive list of what each release of these drivers change?

I haven’t updated the driver since whatever was available in late October. Only issue I had is I can’t save an eq preset. I’ve been leery to update because there seem to be issues. I’m just curious if there is anything added that makes it worth upgrading to try and fix the eq.

Hi there. I am getting these errors below with the Nu Audio card I purchased second hand.

I am using a proper SATA cable straight out of my Corsair 1000w PSU, as well as tried 3 different PCI ex ports on my Asus Maximus Hero XI Board.

Please help. Not sure what to do but I have been trying to troubleshoot for the last 2 hours.

I have been trying this morning to get this card to work. No luck, I have removed all files and entries in the registry as well as tried different versions of the drivers including the latest 02.1.10 and 02.1.7.

I am running a 9700k on an Asus Maximus XI Hero Board, using Windows 10 Pro Version 2004 (OS Build 19041.264)

No op amp relays clicking or any indication that it is working when rebooting, like my SB ZXR or previous Essence STX cards. So strange.

Any help would be much appreciated, or I guess I will have to go back to my Sound Blaster ZXR.

Quite frustrating considering I was really looking forward to hearing this card.

Silly question, but you have connected the sata power to the card?

Yep of course. I have tried everything - going to give up now.

One question which will give me final resolution:
Does Windows pick the Nu Audio card up before you install the driver(s)??

Mine does not, and I have removed my GPU(EVGA) as well to see if that would get it running but still no luck at all - in case it could have been the Nvidia Audio hardware.

...Back to Soundblaster.
