I am looking at purchasing a 27" Class 4K UHD IPS LED Monitor that has a resolution of 3840x2160.

This means I need to look at an appropriate graphics card to this monitor.

Which do you recommend or is there another I should pick?
EVGA GeForce GT 1030 SC, 02G-P4-6332-KR, 2GB GDDR5, Passive, Low Profile
P/N: 02G-P4-6332-KR  $79.99
Max Monitors Supported: 2
Max Digital : 3840x2160

EVGA GeForce GTX 1050 GAMING, 02G-P4-6150-KR, 2GB GDDR5, ACX 2.0 (Single Fan)
P/N: 02G-P4-6150-KR  $124.99
Max Monitors Supported: 3
Max Digital : 7680x4320

Also, I get frequent ocular migraines, I was hoping that by getting quality setup, it would reduce the occurrence of these ocular migraines.
I don't do gaming, I merely wish to edit photos and watch movies.

Thanks,

Either one will work fine for what you want to do. I'd go for the 1050 myself.

Personally would go for the 1030 if your only want to do movies and edit photo's. If your doing video editing.. id say the 1050.

For display purpose only, the 1030,
    anything heavier, the 1050.

I'm with Sajin in this one. 1050 would be my choice as well.

    Case: Asus Z370-G Box / MB: Asus Z370-G / CPU: Intel I7 8700K / Mem.: 16GB (2x8) 3000Mhz Corsair Dominator Platinum DDR4 / GPU: GTX 1080TI FTW3 / A.I.O. W.C: EVGA CLC280 / PSU: EVGA SuperNOVA G3 750W

Not Really Sure as I am waiting for the OP to answer my question.
Also not sure where my chart went from that Post.
Why I would like to know what the Make and Model is because of the Ports on the Graphics Cards.

BTW ever hear of a PM.
Had you Sent me a PM instead questing everything I Post you would see where I was headed as I would have told you.

I get headaches with 60hz monitors but with 144hz I'm good. So I opted for a 2560x1440 IPS @ 144hz and all is well.

I'd have a 4K but for the refresh rates and I've talked to others with similar problems. I though the OP might find this tidbit helpful.

Sorry for the late reply, I just had an ocular migraine that lasted three days.
I am hoping a better quality monitor will mitigate these.

Honestly I was just looking for an affordable monitor, the LG 27UD69P-W look like it will work.
    unless you have another suggestion.

Yes, I would also like to also make videos. I am using Cyberlink PowerDirector.

Hey, I really don't know much about graphic cards. I just found two that I thought would match with the monitor I was looking at. But after reading Heini2 comment about headaches from 60hz, I will take Heini2's advice and look for a 144hz monitor.

    I appreciate everyone's advice.
    Thank you

I hope it works well for you. Something I failed to mention that you may already know is to avoid "fluorescent lighting" when possible.

+1 for 1050ti if you can afford it.

As far as eye strain, I've got a 144hz monitor but noticed the low blue light setting helps my eye strain more than the upgrade from 60hz for what its worth.

When one is interesting in a product, they should first identify the metrics they wish to prioritize.
    These are my metrics:
    IPS
    144hz
    27"
    Displayport
    freesync

IPS & Displayport - for photo editing
144hz - to mitigate ocular migraines.
Added, metrics to narrow the search 27" and  freesync
Freesync cost less than Gsync and for photo editing, I figure why spend the extra money.
Interesting my search came down to three monitors. Which one is the best?

    Acer XF270HU, IPS $600, 27" (2560 x 1440) 144 Hz DisplayPort AMD FreeSync $520

    ASUS MG279Q Gaming Monitor - 27" 2K WQHD (2560 x 1440), IPS, up to 144Hz, FreeSync. $537

    AOC AG271QG 27 inch IPS 165Hz DisplayPort 2560x1440 PX G Sync $600

A fourth option was the Acer Predator XB271HU IPS 27" Display Port, 144Hz (2560x1440) NVIDIA G-SYNC, but it is $700

The Freesync wouldn't matter for 1050ti graphics card as Freesync is AMD while G-Sync is NVIDIA. The monitor would still work you just wouldn't get a refresh rate that changes. That said though since you are not gaming the refresh is not really going to be all over the place and will likely stay at 144hz or 165hz for the AOC. As for the monitors you posted pretty good options but it might be worth the G-Sync options. Acer is the more known gamer brand but AOC has a lot of good things said about them in reviews. That said though I don't think you are going to be disappointed with any of them.

I had to reevaluate. I hope the 1050TI will work with this choice.
Now looking at the BenQ SW2700PT, it does not have the 144hz refresh rate. However, its focus is photography, which is my main interest.
