As I wait for a chance to buy 2080 Ti FTW3 or whatever I end up with, I've been researching monitors.  It seems like every review website has an opinion with many inconsistencies from site to site and list to list.  I know I want 32"-35"(I work a lot from home remoting into my multi-monitor office PC), nothing less than 3440x1440, and I assume I should be getting G-Synch with no less than 100 Hz refresh.  Whats out there I should be considering?  I won't say money is no object, but I'm willing to spend for a really nice monitor.  Thanks in advance.

Do they exist at 32+?  I'm only seeing 4k that size at 60Hz.

Honestly I wouldn't bother with a 4K monitor if gaming is your focus. Truth be told even a RTX 2080Ti isn't enough to really push 4k 120Hz in the vast majority of games. 2560x1440 144Hz is the way to go or like you are wanting go with an ultra wide high refresh monitor.

I really like my LG 144Hz panel and at 2560x1080 is far easier for GPUs to push for that high refresh rate gaming goodness.

Well the FTW3 is on the way, and a nice monitor is all I need to complete my build.  Newegg has the Dell Alienware AW3418DW 34" 21:9 Curved 120 Hz G-Sync IPS Gaming Monitor for $899, but not sure if I should be looking at something else?  I really want a nice 32"+ monitor that will perform well and look great in games, and give me the real estate for work that is similar to my 2 monitor set up at work.  I wish there were bigger 4k monitors with higher than 60Hz refresh rates, as I just want to get something I can use for a long time.

I'm leaning hard this way for sure, but I'm just wondering if this https://www.144hzmonitors.com/reviews/asus-rog-swift-pg35vq-acer-predator-x35/ legit and coming out soon or vaporware.

If your going to toss money at a good monitor make sure your hardware can drive it. I personally refuse to pay 1300 - 2000 for a 4k monitor. I would rather go buy a 4k TV and play on that and did with my 1080 card and a 45" TV.

Since I wanted something that used the new card and the wide screens appealed to me so I went with a 3440 x 1440 100/120hz g-sync from amazon for 800 ish mine is the Acer Predator x34p.

The only time I have gamed over 60 hz is the days of CRT monitors. I have not had a lot of opportunity to play on it yet (got it last friday) but the 2080 TI FTW3 card drives it over 120 FPS on just about anything I throw at it. I do not however play online shooters and what you play goes into what is best for you.

    Yeah for that expensive 4k 144hz screen you'll want dual 2080ti I bet. Or 2 1080ti.

Battlefield 4 I seen anywhere from upper 80s- near 120fps on my 14400 ultra wide.

The 1080ti is perfect for that ultra wide. The only game I know where you would could use 2 1080tis is in the new tomb raider.. but that's prob just to get near 100fps.

Obviously new monitors will come with max pricing once out.. will you see a difference from 120 to 144gz to justify the extra price?

I also think by the time you see cards that can handle 144hz 4k the prices will come way down on the monitors. Though no doubt by then will we see 8k monitors hehe.. it never ends!

By what ya need when ya need it and try to get a good price! Always better around the corner if your willing to spend more at launch.

Yup, all great points!!  Dell has the AW34 for $899, so might as well get it from them directly.  I'd assume if I bought it elsewhere and had an issue, I'd have to deal with Dell anyway on an RMA.

I really like the 21:9 ultra-wide monitors. I have the Asus PG348Q which is a 34" curved 3440x1440 100mhz g-sync panel and I love it. It gives me immersiveness  in games without have to mess with multi-monitor setups or having monitor bezels down the middle of my game. I get smooth high frame rate game play with my 1080 Ti SLI setup so I don't see the need to go to 2080 series just yet particularly since enabling ray tracing tanks the fps.

I am excited for the future of this technology though, 100 fps+, ray traced games on 4k ultra-wides... gonna be sweet!

Same here with the multi-monitor dislikes.  I have that at work, which is fine, but I'm not gaming there.

I went with Newegg, as Dell was going to hit me with tax.

I just purchased a Alienware AW3418DW 3440x1440 and it's amazing with 120 Hz refresh rate. I would not waste my money on 4K. The new 34"to 35" HDR wide screens are coming soon but I never buy the first thing that comes along. See below a couple of screen shoots from Battlefield 1 with a single Titan Xp.

3440x1440 100Hz+ is the best gaming experience available right now in my opinion.  The 2080ti is the perfect card if you want all the eye candy and all the frames.

I have a pg348q (100hz) and I'm getting a 2080 ti on Monday. Will it pair well since the monitor is "only" 100hz. I'm usually capping my fps at 98fps for gsync

Unfortunately the GPU power doesn't exist yet for 4K/144hz+ @ ultra settings.  Is is probably why most manufacturers are holding back if I had to guess.
