Damn that sucks what happened to your acc, hope it gets sorted soon, I thought it would be easy to change your name (was thinking about it as well sometimes, I don't use this username much anymore these days) but i'll pass for now lol, got quite a few items registered here too. Nice mod tho, looks good and that temp decrease mmmmm... I also wonder what would happen to temps if you used liquid metal between the block and the shim, I mean probably minimal change but still curious lol.

Don't know how much difference between the block and shim liquid metal would make but in my opinion the vga supremacy block mod with the coldplate cools the memory and die better and is the best overall cooling option, better then the hydro copper or the thermosphere and coldplate does.

I know there is a Way --> For EVGA, to change the User name -- from time to time a new user will, shall we say - choose poorly & it gets changed but if the user changes their account name ... no idea how that will get sorted

Well when you create your evga account and your username the same name on the forum is automatic you don't create a forum name seperate so you would think when you change your account username it would also change on the forum automatically since it was linked originally.

Interesting stuff.. crazy cause I never thought the flow on my supremacy evo block was that great but I know it's a tad better then the hydro block.
Have you changed the inner plate in the block to a bigger opening for higher flow?
I have a spare supremacy block that I'm selling that I could use over the hydro block but a part of me thinks I'm better off with the rest of the card also water cooled over air cooled.. but then when people are running ln2 the vrm is still on the air cooler so..
Wait? That's not the supremacy CPU block? That's the other ek universal gpu block right?

So when i got home the 0.8mm copper piece i was waiting for was here so after cutting some shims out of it to fit in the memory coldplate for the 2080ti kingpin i assembled, tightened down and then removed to check out the squeeze pattern and in fact the 0.8mm shim works better then the 1.0mm shim i was originally using. I attached photo's and you can see the squeeze out was very good between the die and shim as well as between the vga supremacy block and shim. I have been using the TF8 thermal paste. So just to be clear the 0.8mm shim works better for both the ekwb thermosphere and the ekwb vga supremacy blocks then the 1.0mm shims do.

Oh yeah thats a good question, how do you cut the shim? If I will have to do that eventually if my WB is not working... would be nice to know lol. Good to see it works well since like I just said, might have to do that in the future. Also what are the mem temps with this new shim? similar to before I guess?

Those mem temps are similar to what I get on WB (idle) so not bad at all if I will have to do this eventually. Very interesting and good to know it works rather well. You using 1 rad on it or more?

Cool.. now crank the heat/clocks and let's see what the results are. I prefer to use Afterburner to clock the card. While PX1 is open.. Open afterburner.. Max Power/temp/voltage then set clocks using the curve method. Just grab the dot for 1.093v and raise the bar up to say 140-150mhz and hit (control + L) then hit apply. You should see the changes to clocks made on PX1. Bench test.

No you need to have like 40mm x 40mm to start with for a single shim.

You have a lot more capacity with all those radiators but running furmark burn in test will bring the temps up. Also mine is with the XOC bios, and the classy tool running at LLO and different voltage so were not looking at the same settings within the card.

Dont look bad for 1.206v. Though seemed to clock best under 40c for the stock cooler. That thing should hit over 2200mhz below 1.093v. Guessing ya know that..

Ok.. but I thought we were in science mode where we were comparing temps between a hydro copper and your moded universal cooler? Yeah I've yet to install that XOC bios. I've only flashed the ln2 bios into the oc switch position from before I installed the copper block. I want to see if this block really sucks but I guess we cant judge since you have a chiller on it.

Great to see that people will still have an option that cant get a hydro copper anymore!
I've got some old swiftech mc80 universale blocks that would work as well. I think 3 total. 1 normal and 2 slim versions for tight sli cards.
