You guys should fight to the death using ground up GPU shards glued to your hands just like in kickboxer. Winner gets all new thermal pads but not enough to cover capacitors.

I did not realize Sajin wasn't talk about the things I had circled and was talking about the entire time. My apologies for no knowing that we were talking about different components after I showed pictures of the pieces I had detailed out.

I cant find any 1080 acx showing thermal pads.

all i can find is 980 acx and you can see the plate has more exposed so the ACX fans active cooling

while the reference depends on thermal pads for cooling

Honestly think it should come with more thermal pads everything circled on image below is missing on the hybrid was being used to cool parts on the FE.
I also circled in red what look like some kind of protective film to maybe stop something from making contact to metal plate.

Its not needed as the mosfet drivers do not get hot.

Thermal pads come already installed on plate.
I received 2 new FE made by EVGA and has the same pads as the hybrid kit and working fine.

Hi. I saw your post with the hybrid kit and missing thermal pads..

I was just wondering one thing.. does your card have coil whine?

The reason I am asking is I´ve spend a LOT of hours researching coil whine and now I am trying to find out if it can make a difference if they are covered with thermal pads or not.  especially with waterblocks.. some say it can make a difference with cooling. I myself have 2080ti with EK Full Waterblock and backplate and ALL thermal pads incl. chokes. And it makes a very high coil whine when peaking in benchmarks etc.  When it was stock air cooled I honestly dident even notice it..

My point is IF it could have an effect with cooling, then maybe they will actually be cooled better without thermal pads like the GPU when running waterblock?
