Why would you not do that anyway? The Optimus block is better and you'll get it sooner.

It seems faster and you can sign up for either one so whichever comes up first you can option to buy.  Plus the cost savings of buying the hybrid verse the hybrid and the hydro copper is around 200 including shipping so there is a price difference that will impact you based on your financials and do you want to wait for the KP HC or get the hybrid and the HC conversion.  

Whatever your choice, I'd sign up for both and the KP HC kit and see which one comes up first.  It doesn't cost you anything to sign up.

He's talking about buying a second Kingpin, I don't think financials are an issue.

I'm banking on either this or the MC reservation I've got in at my local one for a 3090 but the wait time either way is probably months if it's Micro Center and if it's not ASUS or EVGA (for example gigabyte/msi/zotac/etc) I'll have to cancel the Micro Center one and reenter that queue to attempt to get in a EVGA or ASUS 3090 the next time if the KP at EVGA doesn't pop up first before then.  KP is definitely a very appealing model to me through not my first choice based on price but beggars can't be choosers and I'm considering ASUS options to which are not priced competitively like EVGA so a KP still might be cheaper than some of the ASUS options for a 3090 that I may have to take if they pop up as my option at Micro Center if that pops first before a EVGA KP.

so beat me Kingpin Hybrid 3dmark score with the FTW3 Hybrid. Not sure about the kingpin 3090 HC now. Not like at 27 in line it would be this year or early next.

the kingpin has a much higher top end but seem to be pretty close to the 3090 with just PX1 tinkering.

Well at least we have now 20h to reply instead of 8... Maybe that's a good news on incoming GPUs overall.

20 hour is nice, but I really think that an increase in drops for all SKUs would be even better.  I can't believe that we are in the second year of queues and some queue dates are still in September/October 2020....

It is to be taken with a grain of salt... But 2 reasons I see why they did it:
- more products incoming
- less heeeeeee I missed my email please support give me my card, hey Jacob I have not be able to reply on time on Twitter and so on...

And a bonus one, just to scare people less about the short 8h time and none of the above. I believe it is to reduce the load on support, and might be a slight increase of product associated. But nothing can really tells us why they did it.

I think they should have done it awhile ago.  Whether 5 hours, 8 hours or 20 hours, any of those time periods should give them enough time to turn the unit and send out a straggler email the next day.  

I think this can reduce impulse purchase

Dumped my 30% off on the 1600 T2. No way HC is going to move in the next couple weeks anyway.
