Someone help me out here...I’m getting 12741 max for port royal, with a fairly high ambient temp of mid 30s to low 40’s. Goes up to low 50’s when stress testing. On OC bios. +100 on gpu clock and 1000 on mem. Any higher is unstable :/ Am I using the wrong bios? My kingpin a dud? What’s with the high temps...? Using x1 if that helps.


Also anyone got a link to the 520? W bios?

What is your ambient temperature roughly?  Idle you should be seeing 20sC on the core unless your ambient is toasty.  I idle at 20-23C with the GPU radiator fans at 1000-1100RPM, that's with ambient ranges of 68-72F.  Load temps are 45-55C - this is on a regular 3090 FTW3 Hybrid - from what I've seen in Sajin's thread, the Kingpin should idle cooler, run cooler period in fact, unless you're really pushing it.
Which BIOS position are you on?  the LN2 BIOS position is actually "safe" to use because all of the protections are still in place unless you start messing with the other switches & Classified settings etc., from what I understand.  It just gives you a 520W power limit and some access to higher voltage - the true LN2 BIOS you have to get request from eVGA/Vince, and you are accepting voiding your warranty by using it and it's 1000W Power Limit.

I might’ve mixed ambient temp with idle temp. Idle sits at mid 30’s low 40’s, as for ambient, 23 degrees I think? I’ll try with ln2 bios, but even then, the oc bios should’ve gotten me higher scores, no?

Quick update, used ln2 bios, +150 on core, 1000 on mem, max fans. got 14,982.
 
I'm fine with that score, but what bothers me still is the high temps...
Ambient was 23 C, according to gpuz, highest gpu temp was 52C, and it even says in mem1&2 it went as high as 67C???
 
card it self is idling at 30-40C it seems like

Those idling temps sound a bit high. I’m idling in the 25-27C range. Everything else seems normal as compared to my card.

Please don't install GPUs with the plastic still on them, the static build up from peeling that off can zap stuff, don't do that near computer parts & they might wind up deadski.
 
I'm sure you'll get the fitment worked out when your new case arrives.
