Sadly, the drop has been postponed (at least) until tomorrow.  EVGA has confirmed "No KPE for [us]!" (at least for today).

Did they give any hints as far as tomorrow?

Nope, they did not.  But I just have a feeling that EVGA has one more sizable KPE drop in it for 2020.  #IBelieve 

Fingers crossed, but I have this sinking feeling that most of the folks in shipping and receiving at EVGA have already checked out for the holidays.  I know where I work it is pretty much a ghost town already.
 
How has it been historically leading up to Christmas?  I guess we really don't have anything to compare to since 2020 has been a bit unique to say the least.
 
 

tyhanson Seems like a lot, some going so far as to RMA twice. Really puts the hold on those waiting for a card themselves. 

 
Yes it's really annoying to those of us who don't have one yet, especially when the card is working perfectly fine but they are messing up the LCD via firmware. EVGA should wise up to this and replace just the LCD or fix the firmware update instructions or something instead of turning all these perfectly good cards into B stock or whatever happens with them and taking cards out of the queue for the rest of us. This is that much more painful when the supply is so short. If the card itself is functioning the LCD RMAs should go to the back of the line and not get a whole new retail box replacement.
 
It's not like the LCD prevents use of the card or your PC and if they had an ounce of patience they could wait for a new firmware update from EVGA to fix it. Others have posted they had this same issue with their 2080 Ti Kingpin and that it was fixed via firmware...
 

I'm seeing more coil whine/pump buzzing, and other underperforming card issues being RMA'd, not so much LCD.

Given the severe shortage of cards this launch for all things GPU, kinda seems like they are just squirting them out as quickly as they can. QC and binning seems to have taken a dive for the 3000 series. nVidia didn't really help the issue either.

Just my two cents, but in talking with customer support and hearing Jacob’s comments on livestreams and such, EVGA sets aside a pool of cards of all SKUs specifically for RMA purposes. They are not diverting cards from their retail supply to fulfill RMAs.

I have to post this because seeing some of these installations makes me cringe. Performance and functionality > aesthetics

Still, makes one wonder....

Unfortunately my KP was just RMA’d as it had the black screen issue where it wouldn’t activate the monitors, only did a few times then stopped. I just got the email with the serial number for the new card and it was made before my card which would prove they set aside cards as the tech support team told me they did. Plus they overnighted it to me which means it was on hand. Electronics break, it doesn’t matter who makes it, the difference is EVGA bends over backwards to make it right which is why I only buy their graphic cards. Jacob personally handled it for me along side their amazing tech support team. They stand head and shoulders above the rest. You want crappy support go buy a MSI product and good luck.....

In my mind's eye, I had something pithy and entirely appropriate to lead off this morning's festivities.  It was going to make you laugh and cry, while at the same time acknowledging our shared humanity and the futility of idolizing goods acquired through manmade currency.  In its better passages it was going to speak to a larger truth about technology, and the double-edged nature of its role in and amongst our lives.  It was going to be epic and worthy of our shared hunt o' these many months.  
 
However, much like the writer's room for the penultimate and final episodes of The Game of Thrones, I simply lack the skills, vision, time...and...well...energy with which to pull off such a satisfying conclusion.  So instead I am going to edit for a second time the self-reported queue in anticipation of an epic K|NGP|N drop today!

Your final, friendly neighborhood reminder of 2020...EVGA's internal shipping cutoff for 2020 is 2 pm PT today.  So, if you receive an "invite to purchase" email in the morning, please try to complete your order by 2 pm PT.  If you don't receive an email in the morning, do one last in-box check around 2:05 pm PT...I recommend this because the first 3090 K|NGP|N "invite to purchase" email drop occurred at 2:01 pm on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, but EVGA still tried to fulfill and ship out same day many of those orders despite the orders being finalized a few minutes after the 2 pm cutoff....  
 
TodayTomorrowToday is the day for us to rescue all outstanding K|NGP|Ns from their existing life of being trapped within an opaque shipping box.  Our adoption will set them free...at least for a moment...until we place them in their castles of metal, plastic and, in some cases, glass...full of breezy days and nights, RGB colors and energy (but hopefully no dust, cat fur or fan/pump noise).

Fingers crossed, but if today isn't the day so be it. To be able to drop $2k+ on a luxury item given the state of the world feels like an immense privilege.

If the Queue tracker is accurate I’m #47 so here’s hoping my number gets called. Knowing my luck though I can’t help but doubt it. I don’t win stuff.
