Hey guys,

Happy to have finally bought an EVGA product, the 1080 TI FTW3. (Awesome looking card.)
So yesterday I installed it in my pc. After plugging in the displayport cable (hama 1,8 meters) and... nothing.
The screen does not light up (Dell U3415W) so it appears that the screen does not get detected at all.
I have another screen hooked to the VGA port and that works flawelessly. Afterwards I tested the HDMI port and that also works without issues.
I have this problem with ALL of the displayports, so to me it would look like an issue with either the cable or the screen.

After doing some research I checked the displayport setting on the screen and it has been enabled.

Any help or ideas is welcome!
Daan

Try a different DP cable - preferably one that is VESA certified because ones that aren't sometimes have problems like you're experiencing.

Buy a new cable and report back. There has been a bunch of people having issues with dodgy DP cables on Pascal cards.

Just make sure to get one from a reputable company (AmazonBasics for example).

I would recommend looking at the official DisplayPort product database and picking a cable from there.

Alright, will do. I will take a cable from work with me tonight which is certified and test to see if that will work.

    *Edit*
Also wanted to add in that I tried to "faulty" cable on my work laptop and another Dell screen and that it does work there.

sadly unlike HDMI where a single 1m cable can cost up to £1,500 those audiophile companies don't make DisplayPort cables. There aren't many very very good ones around. I got one from Lindy and am happy with it.

Lindy confirmed Pin-20 is disconnected on it. Make sure this is the case with whatever DP cable you get to prevent short circuit.

I'd check cables first and then dig into drivers afterward, and then, just trying it on something else entirely if possible. (this would be ideal to test up front though)

I've never had a problem with DP before until I got a 1080ti, coming from a 1080...after I installed that card, my screen would randomly turn off and back on, I would swap ports and it would seemingly be OK for a little while and then it would happen every now and then.
I've always "cheaped out" with amazon/cablematters cables, I have since bought a more expensive but reliable cable from Accell and have had ZERO problems since.

3440x1440 100hz, 6' cables is what I have always used for all cables.

Try a different end (sounds funny but sometimes works). If that doesn't work, most like need a new cable. I'd recommend the company "Cable Matters" which can be found on amazon and is relatively cheap, been using them for a decade now and never had issues with their cables. Sorry to hear and best of luck.

God I really hope not... I have had to wait for 2 months before I was able to buy it and have it delivered in Belgium... Pfff. Will do one final test today, if that fails I will RMA it.

    (Tested HDMI Yesterday, didn't work.)

    Thanks,

Did you try using the motherboard port? Did you get a connection?

Okay, good news, after testing 3 more Displayport cables, the last one worked!!! :-) (I also installed XOC, don't know if that was related to the problem or not, but I doubt it.)

Tested the HDMI cable I tried on another screen and it seems like that cable was also broken.

So like people where mentioning above, don't buy cheap cables, the card is quite sensitive to that.
