Well meh on the aesthetics on the new z370. Will still buy it if there available soon. I still love the design concept of the z170 Classy (Currently Using 1).

I am not adverse to the z370 FTW.  Looks like it has all my needs.  I have found two models that appeal...FTW and Asus ROG Maximus X Hero.  Both pretty solid.  One caviat to the 370 series that bothers me.  Can't tell how EVGA has it set up, but I have a Samsung 960 Pro NVMe drive.  When installed on the Maximus for PCIe x4, it disables SATA 5/6 on the board...never saw that before.  On my X99 FTW K, it disabled my last PCIe lane.  Hopefully won't effect speed in any way...

The asus tuf is ~180 usd, while the z270 ftw is ~220 from what I see online. While the i3 8350k is ~170 usd. So you arent looking at huge price differences between the tuf and ftw. The tuff is still an expensive board to put a i3 on it.

If someone is buy any K series cpu, they will need a z370 to overclock, no matter how expensive the board is. If they buy a non K sku, then buying a z370 is a complete and total waste of money.

Aye I know that, you miss the the point. I was saying thay he shouldnt expect a cheap mobo. The price evga has asked for in the past for the ftw (the best comparison to his asus tuf example) is going to be roughly the same as always.

It's the same at EVGA, if you populate M2_1 the U.2 will be disabled, if you populate M2_2 then 2 SATA Ports will be disabled.

In fact, compared to what's on the market, the new motherboards are pretty good.
This processor is intermediate and yet there are no budget motherboards on the market! - tightly cut but not budget.

Asus ROG Maximus X Hero does look like a nice motherboard. EVGA finally upgraded to Realtek S1220 like the top 4 mfg offer, but they still lack the same software features. ASUS Sonic Studio software is nice if you like customizing profile for each program.

Compared to which motherboards? What budget boards are you wanting? I see some that are around $149 on Amazon.

Frankly I'm disappointed; by the design and the lack of targeted release date.

1.) I am not against the shroud design (assuming thermals are okay) but you should have gone either black or gun metal grey. Colors that are far more neutral.
2.) RGB under the shroud is great because it's a tasteful accent and can be turned off, something I appreciate on the 1080 Ti FTW3 Hybrid.
3.) The south bridge cooling solution is simply not attractive at all when compared to your Z270 design. The partially covered chip below the heatsink is particularly painful to look at.
4.) I'm not going to complain about the lack of exposed heat pipe running across the board. It was of limited (if any) performance value and added to the per unit cost.
4.) Not having a projected release date is inexcusable. I'm sure you are afraid of slipping the date or losing customers - but announcing without a target leaves us with no choice but to pursue other options. I wouldn't mind waiting a month or so if I could plan accordingly.
5.) I was previously waiting for the EVGA X299 ATX/EATX boards and I decided to wait for the Z370/8700K due to the cost/single thread performance benefits but I'm still scarred by the 3+ months of waiting with no word on the release date for those boards. It's fine if you are re-working the VRMs or cooling solution - but say so.
6.) You'll gather more fans by being honest and transparent. Your motherboard team may be smaller than your graphic card team but don't underestimate our willingness to root for the underdog - just don't yank us around.
7.) You need to implement (NDA protected) focus group testing with your designs. A business should never experience the feature or design de-evolution that we are seeing between the Z270 and Z370 offering.

I was planning a pure EVGA build (minus case). I'm the proud owner of a 1080 Ti FTW3 and I wanted to build an 8th generation system around it. My current Sandy Bridge-E system will be retired with full honors. I'm coming from ASUS. I choose EVGA because they clearly have great warranties, customer support, and the best hybrid 1080 Ti out there. MSI's Sea Hawk X was just a vanilla 1080 Ti with a Corsair AIO slapped on.

8.) Still looking at an EVGA PSU and the CLC 280 but I'm likely going to move on to the MSI M5/M7  - take note of the neutral gun metal and accent RGB lighting approach.

In summary and respectfully to EVGA management; please be more forthcoming with your release dates. Redesigns based on feedback and release date slipping can be acceptable (and encouraged) if transparently communicated, but making customers wait months without any word at all will cost you sales/customer referrals. Please consider customer focus groups with regards to design.

Thank you.

Honestly I'm excited. the more I see the z370 classified k, the more I love it. Its clean and precise. I'm really pumped, I cant wait. Please make these soon evga!

edit: noticed their is only 1x 3.0 header  I need 2x 3.0 headers for my case. Guess ill have to buy a 3.0 to 2.0 adapter, since I cant find a usb 3.1 header to 3.0 header adapter.

I like the looks of the board, but then again aesthetics has never been very important to me.

When I built my current system, almost 10 years ago now, I did my research beforehand and going with EVGA was a no-brainer, both in Mobo and GPU. And based on all of my current research it seems like now is the best time to upgrade where longevity is concerned.

I'm not an instant gratification type, so lack of a release date on this Mobo is no biggie. I will just buy my components along the way and happily await these boards release date. I trust EVGA's quality and customer service, and in my opinion they are worth waiting on.

In spite of all understanding, Sandy Bridge has proved to be the stupidest architecture in the history of the computer industry!
This has led to an absolutely nonsensical increase in the overall periphery and a parallel decrease in quality...

So, just like X299 boards haven't been released yet, after months of being announced, are we going to see those Z370 boards when Cannonlake is released?

I am not adverse to the z370 FTW.  Looks like it has all my needs.  I have found two models that appeal...FTW and Asus ROG Maximus X Hero.  Both pretty solid.  One caviat to the 370 series that bothers me.  Can't tell how EVGA has it set up, but I have a Samsung 960 Pro NVMe drive.  When installed on the Maximus for PCIe x4, it disables SATA 5/6 on the board...never saw that before.  On my X99 FTW K, it disabled my last PCIe lane.  Hopefully won't effect speed in any way...

With regards to the Z370 FTW, you'll have two options for your NVMe:

There are two M.2 Key-M 80mm slots on the board.  Using the top M.2 will disable SATA 0/1, while using the bottom M.2 will disable SATA 4/5.

Alternatively, if you run your NVMe via a PCIe adapter, the bottom PCIe slot (PE6) runs x4 lanes off the PCH, without sharing the bandwidth with anything else.

I don't mind the disabling of SATA slots...I just wanted NVMe speed.  Right now, on my X99 FTW K, the m.2 disables the last PCIe slot.  All I want is to install it and use as my C Drive with full speed like I have.  Sounds like either solution should work, correct?  Install on top slot and SATA 0/1 disabled but runs at PCIE x 4 speed and same for bottom slot.  I only have to populate three SATA slots

Correct.  Either solution should work.

why does intel have to be so greedy with pcie lanes, i get they want to push people to HEDT platform but even there you have to make sacrifices, nvme should be straight off the cpu, leaving sata and other stuff to the PCH, all their cpu's should 24 lanes minimum except for laptop and low powered chips.

I hope they dont delay z370's as much as they have x299 boards. Just got my kingpin waterblock, was thinking about waiting until I got a new 8700k and a z370 board. That way I can upgrade it all at once, and ill only have to drain my loop once. Dont want to add my waterblock, and then get my cpu/mb in 2 weeks and have to drain it again lol

Can we PLEASE have a right angle power connector and a post code display that's right side up, actually I would like to seen the post code display near the center maybe beside the SLi logo. I like taking a peek threw my window case and seeing the cpu temp while gaming but id have to lean way forward in my chair to see that one on the top right.

I've been waiting for news on these evga boards, I like the looks of the X299 DARK the best.  still using my Z68 FTW and have been waiting for enough intel performance jump to justify a new build

few things they regressed on, the post code display is a no brainer to have it display right side up and since its not eatx size they could have left the atx power sideways.

For as much as I've been an EVGA Fanboy over the years with the amazing performance of my x58 Classified Rig, the time to market on these x299 and z370 seems behind the competition.  Just my opinion.

aesthetics : the branch of philosophy that deals with the principles of beauty and artistic taste.
Then we put the new Gold iPhone in a cheep plastic cover that hides the color.

True that.
I love EVGA products, and the Brand itself, but man, their products usually arrive late for the sell party (but still sells out anyway).
