Sajin Wow. It allows you to connect four 8-pins. I just ordered one just so I can connect my last available 8-pin to my card. This should help spread the load when I’m pulling 600w on my 3090 ti ftw3. Currently when pulling 600w on just the gpu alone my three 8-pins get warm. This should definitely help get them cooler when pulling 600w since I’ll be able to add another 8-pin.
Pfft, I've been doing 600w with two 8pins for over a year with my Zotac 3090. Lol.
For just bench runs? 600w continuous for hours on end through two 8-pins wouldn’t be a wise thing to do. My usage case is continuous not just bench runs.
It's also not like SLI is really important anymore so if you have the connectors it seems like a good used to try to keep them cool. It will be interesting to also hear if the PowerLink 41s gets warm though.

zippytek ok i see it now, asked Lee in the other thread. weird, but that makes me think they *will* be releasing a powerlink that supports 2 12VHPWR connectors. Interesting, I assume this will be compatible with 40 series cards that use this power delivery configuration
This is exclusive to those 4-5 SKUs. But honestly i hope this is a good sign that next gen we are finally going to see more powerlinks. I always thought it was a great idea to provide even cleaner power to ones card, i had good experience with the old ones myself and like Bobaganoosh mentioned i beleive aswell that it should help in situations where a user is on the edge of a requirement.

Cleaner power delivery is better, but I bet its also designed to handle some of the transient power spikes and may be a test bed for the 4k series which is rumored to have possible 2-3x power spikes, saving the PSU from trying to handle all of it

Let me get this straight. EVGA essentially made a quad 8-pin to 600w 12vhpwr adapter box, with a bunch of capacitors inside to meet the transient requirements, and locked it to a specific physical placement.
What the heck? They could have easily made a 12vhpwr cable going out of the box instead of having it stick out from their desired position.

right, make a good product that is not proprietary, has options and sell it across all MFG's platforms who will have the need ..

I like it, and I understand how it can make cable management appear much tidier if you have nice individually sleeved 8-pin cables running out of it. Certainly can provide a nicer aesthetic than the squid-like adapter thing, although it will obviously take up more space. The RGB doesn't have to be lit up like a Christmas tree, just a cool subtle deep blue would look great. I'm going to give it a miss however, since EKWB should have their 3090Ti block out mid July, and I doubt this Powerlink is going to work with that (active backplate as well as main block). I'm looking forward to the next gen where I hope the upper tier cards will have 2 of the 12-pin connectors with cables that run directly to a next gen PSU with 12-pin connectors. Much cleaner.

Looks like it does what I thought it would do and keep the pci-e cables cooler. The powerlink itself gets warm now versus the cables getting warm.

Now that you are at it I guess you could take it apart and show us how much capacitance there is in there. It might be enough for some PSUs to avoid shutting down due to the sudden power draw of these cards. Hopefully opening it up without damaging it is at least possible. Not sure if you are into it though... xD

For just bench runs? 600w continuous for hours on end through two 8-pins wouldn’t be a wise thing to do. My usage case is continuous not just bench runs.
Now your FTW3 can unlock the latest version of Ultra Instinct or something.

So I have one myself and I was just wondering if anyone has the same issue where you can't use the M2 screws it comes with to actually fasten it to the card? There's not even any holes for those screws to go into even though the instructions say to do so. Currently I just have the M3 screw attached but I don't know if that's really OK because the instructions say to only use that screw with a backplate with a compatible screw hole but doesn't state which backplates are compatible? Nothing wrong with the Powerlink 41s as a whole just seems kinda strange to me. Works perfectly otherwise just very confusing to me.

If you offer something that plugs in to the back and makes a 90 degree turn so I can keep the existing power connector you will have my money EVGA. This thing won’t even fit into my case, looks like it’s good for open bench work though. 😞 Saw power link and got excited based on previous offerings but didn’t expect this.

You sure? For my hybrid I am able to screw in the smaller M2 screws but not the bigger one M3 which is in the center.

SprayingMango So can anyone explain to me what this is actually supposed to do? I have a Corsair AX1600 PSU, it should be able to easily handle my 3090Ti. Would this powerlink thing actually make a difference?
Provide cleaner power to the gpu by adding capacitance.
Has anyone taken one of these apart to see how big the capacitors are? I can see a case where having the 4 power leads can improve power delivery I guess. Just wondering how exactly this thing works and if it's worth the $50 or whatever.
