reading it said the 3080ti has next gen encoding and decoding for streaming. is the 3080 the same or is this new with the ti model. anyone know?

Seems like by the time the 40 series is announced, people will still be on the waiting list for a 30 series card. As much as I would like a 3080 Ti, I’m not going to lose sleep or waste months drooling over a card that has 5 to 13% more performance than my current card. Good luck

Currently have a 3080.. you can OC it and boom, 3080Ti/3090 results. Not worth if you already have a 3080. Honestly, its really cool to have and to enjoy, but definitely not a want if you have a 3080/3070

The ultra FTW version seems to be the one you need to get. It equals and often exceeds 3090 speeds. It is big though. Very big. There will be a QR code that will tell you if it fits in your case.

I don't get people that already own a 3070/80/90 that are still waiting for those new ones. Arn't you satisfied enough with your cards ? Or is it about craving a new product everytime one gets released ? What about the other people that are still on 10xx or lower series that are desesperatly trying to upgrade ? Do you think about them and letting them upgrade as well while you had your luck already ?  Thank you for your comprehension guys Edit : Btw, I just noticed that is my first post here since I joined in 2013 with my gtxs 670 in sli. Seems that I got tilted by some posts here haha

You are right there is not much in it, especially if you have an overclocked model or are good at overclocking.

Agreed. I can run nearly every title in my game library at 4K MAX settings @ 60 fps or above with Ray tracing enabled. The 3080 Ti is probably a great pickup for those who do not have a 30 series card and do not want to pay scalper prices for a 3080. The reality is, majority will not get one. Maybe not for many months. For 3080/3090 owners, trying to chase a 3080 Ti is waste of time and money.

But it is simply not true. Provide data to back up your claim. Find me a single reviewer that got the 3080ti FE beating the 3090 FE in a single instance.
The guy was saying that an AIB card was able to beat the 3090 FE card in certain benchmarks. I've seen the numbers, and it's easy enough to believe. Nobody said a 3080 FE will beat a 3090 FE.
Linus has benchmarks of the 3080 Ti FE vs the 3090 FE and it's doing better gaming wise then the 3090 FE.

Right, but when you check the 3080's you'll notice that non of the Hydro cards have any sort of notification queue. I doubt EVGA even sold a considerable amount of those the past 9 months since you can't even find a single video on YouTube of the Hydro Copper 3080's.

I would definitely rather have a 3080, but that would be from Best Buy or close to the MSRP. The only reason I am trying to get a 3080ti is due to the upgrade significance and my gf's system would be getting my old card.

That isn't exactly accurate...over the course of the last few months, a decent number (certainly not enough) units have dropped to to the North American queues.
