I am leaning towards the 3090 K|ngP|n, assuming availability isn't too far after launch. I wonder if at 3440x1440x144 I'd gain anything over the 3080. As I imagine the K|ngP|ng will be $2K and would hate to spend 2x the money to see no gains at my resolution. I also have 4kx60hz predator, but I think even the 3080 is going to be able to push that at 60fps.

yeah im in the same boat till i see real benchmarks but looking how i get 40-90fps in most games with high-ultra settings on a 1080ti im pretty sure with a 3080 FE id be getting 120+ fps with those same settings and 60-70+ with everything maxed. it does depend on the game but most of the game i play are early access on Unreal engine 4 . thje 3090 is designed for 8k @ 30fps or 60 ? so you could go with the 3090 and use that for 10 years if your sticking with 1440- 4k. Im holding off on 4k till theres a monitor worthy enough maybe a few years when its cheaper and more advanced tech has come out.

Looks like I'm in for a 3080 Hybrid... the price jump to the 3090 just seems hard to justify for me.... although I may wait until we see some independent benches.

Hello. I always enjoy reading. The 3090 hybrid has a 360 mm KINGPIN radiator and other 240 mm radiators. My question is, how long is the hose to this radiator? I already use the 2080 Ti FTW3 HYBRID for SLI, but it is only 35 cm and the radiator does not reach the front of the Define 7XL (5 cm short / 60.4cm(D)). If it is 40 cm, preferably 45 cm, the front mount is possible, but how long is it? And it would be great if I could change the speed of the pump. Is it possible? If you have seen it, I would appreciate it if you could answer it, JacobF. Thank you for your reading.

Not exactly... Lenovo apparently doesn't know what a Ti or a Super is, nor do they have any specs. This might be a big ball of nothing. Given how little stocks they're going to have, I would be highly surprised the Super/Ti of any kind releases before christmas. As for the 30x0 series from EVGA, I have questions. - Why the 3*8pin vs the new 12pin? - Why are the HC versions so big? We've seen the reference PCB, we know it can be tiny. I also looks like the the HC block might be half reservoir at this point. Why? - Why no preorders? I'm interested to see what the final specs/prices will be for all these :-)

for me what matters is overclocking. thats why i need the ftw3 In 3dmark i was seeing 2130 with a high overclock. 2145 with the window open during winter time In games I was seeing it hold 2115 with only on occasion going down to 2100 but for the most part holding 2115. Mainly due to my overboard cooling solution as I have 2x 420mm radiators dedicated just to my gpu loop alone This is why I need the custom pcb with higher power delivery. I cant in my mind rationalize getting a "standard" 3090 and paying all that money knowing in the back of my head that I left performance on the table

Well, they said that the ftw3 will have 3x8pin? and that the standard will be 2x8pin To me that implies it will. Otherwise whats the point of the ftw3? surely not for the "sensors"

Pure power is not the only thing that matters. The 20 series had power issues even with more power brought to the card. If the chip can't handle that kind of power, you could plug 23 8pin connectors it would make it run at 7GHz ;-) Sure, it's likely the FTW will likely have better potential than the reference PCB. But don't expect 50% more overclocking just because you have a 3rd 8pin is all I'm saying :-D And really... we'll need (several) tests before we can even get a good idea of the difference in potential.

The 2xxx series saw the release of the Super cards (likely the new named convention for Ti cards) the Summer after the non-Super release. While no guarantees, I'd say we won't likely see the Super cards till next Summer. I do believe they will exist however. I definitely don't think there's anyway you'll see a before Christmas release.

I'm not sure I agree Super are the new Ti. I think Ti is just a '+' version of the base one. While super are basically the second rev (mid-gen) version of said cards. But I am also still skeptical the Ti would release soon while they were never even mentioned in the event in the first place. But it's also not the first time a big brand like NVidia would do something that I deem stupid so what do I know :-D

As much as we all want the new cards and would love a way to guarantee we attain them, we must remember there are many logistical elements involved to these kinds of launches and not let ourselves get lost in the "i want it na0w" bias.

It would really be handy to have a notify button for possible pre orders. I hope you EVGA guys still stick to the philosophy of limiting the possibility of buying more than two cards for a person. I really want to upgrade to a 3080 from my 1070 hybrid since Nov 19 and was hard hit when Covid delayed the release of ampere that much. So it's time. Notifications won't cut it tbh. With the amount of emails that would generate, it could take minutes for you to get it either way. If the stocks are really that short, I would do what Sony said they would do. Limit to 1 card (not 1 of each, 1) per person. SLI is basically dead either way. I understand some people have multiple computers. But get in line I guess...

I think they just need to add the cart feature that allows you to have your place for a set amount of time. Even with pre approval from the banks etc you can still end up having to call them and boom the card is gone. It takes me usually 2-3mins at most to get somebody on the phone and have that sorted. So even a 5-7 minute timer would be nice. Why I am tempted to buy from Nvidia directly because they have that feature. So I dont have to play the cart in and out of stock game.

Even if nvlink on the 3090 is possible I don't get the benefit of it except you're rendering models or are a content creator in terms of 3d rendering and stuff. Just for gaming it's only flexing. But still I want them really badly. Almost waited a year. Got a lot of money laying around for a new simrig and just need that gpu to run everything smoothly then 😂

Yeah definitely. I still want to buy from EVGA if I can. Because I've never had major problems with them. But having a timer featuer on the cart would definitely help. No preorders, and industry sources are saying this will be one of the lowest stock launches in years because the yields on Samsung wafers are an unknown. Sounds like a recipe for epic scalping and price gouging. Strap in for a very anti-consumer launch guys.

Well that doesn't sound that good. But I thought it was a shortage on the 7nm Samsung Chips not the 8nm ampere uses in the end.
