Higher benchmarks than a 580, yet cheaper than a 580??? I'm so confused.....

Its cheaper to make than the 580.... 2x GTX 460 1gb cards go for about 134-200 Rebates/bstock/second hand new. Its alot cheaper to make than a GTX 580. Should not cost more than one.

*facepalm*.... thanks haha

Exactly what I thought...
Now this is the kind of card that gamers who can't afford the big boy card but who wants great performance would get.  If you (EVGA) follow suit with the 590 and give us this type of design, I would be extremely pleased.
@Jacob... you mentioned "stay tuned" in reference to a 3gig 580 card, and I still will!  I expect nothing less than 2 full 580 gpu's with all the cores enabled, 4-6 gig minimum of GDDR5, 230.4 gb/s memory bandwidth if not more, quad sli compatibility, and either a QUIET air cooling solution or another bad arse waterblock like the 580 FTW has.  Well at east that is my wish list for the 590, oh and display port would be great too.
Even if you need to dumb down the clocks on the cores at least the raw horsepower will be there and you will get nothing but from me.

If they price it much higher than what you could simply get 2 GTX460's for I don't think it will be that attractive. I'd say $399 is about it with OC models a little more expensive. If they do price it a lot higher than what 2 GTX460's would cost, this card will lose its appeal.

Actually, that's the first thing I though of. This is the perfect card for people that want a SLI setup but are running an AMD system, or a non SLI board!

Give me some information on how this card will work with Step-Up! Will it still be considered a very low-end GPU as it's GF104?

Nice one, EVGA - when we will see a GTX 560 2Win (2GB for each GPU would be nice)?
The card should run cool & quiet - unlike (more powerful) Antilles.

E: Bringing a GTX 590 with that cooler would be very nice indeed, too.
I would buy it right after launch.

Greetings,
Edge

Pricing will be lower than 580. What do you think is a fair price?

I'm thinking around $400 as well.  I know its faster than a 580, but the question is, is it faster than two 460's in SLI?  Because you can pick up two of them for (FTW Version) for $460, but the speeds here are more in line with the FPB version and you can get two of those for $400.  So that's my vote.

Main rig: i7 4820, Water cooled, 1000HX, eVGA x58 Classy 3, 16 GBs Corsair Dominato, eVGA GTX 980HC
24/7 folding rig: i7 2600K OC'd to 4.5 GHz, Armageddon cooler, eVGA P67 FTW, 8GB Corsair Vengence 1600. eVGA GTX 580 HC2, PSU 750TX

Re:Introducing the EVGA GTX 460 2Win! 2011/03/11 04:42:31 (permalink)
hello, good morning to all, for starters I think this is a big problem for nvidia in the market only for the price:

When you buy a new card that is waiting for new technology or the most recent.

if I bought 2 GTX 460 1GB card cost me less than $ 400.

if I have to buy the 2Win, means I have $ $ to buy or have a good source of power.

Now if the card is better than the gtx 580 but with older technology, which is the fact of having taken a super gpu as 580 to reach a younger brother and is best

on the other hand if your group 2 chip in a single board, was supposed to be savingbecause you produce in 2 on 1, I ask this question to evga market, which reflects theuser savings?. on the cost of purchase, I think this is what attracts the end user to buy.

I think we nvidia lovers, we like to see 2 separate cards, I think most ... we like the sli.

no matter if it's a gpu or 2 GPUs in a single detail is that we like 2 single or dual gpucards.

And please correct me if I'm wrong it's true that you can not do sli (that I read above), I think this is a great disadvantage, but great when you're a fan of nvidia.

i concept for this card should not cost more than $ 400

Now I know I have seen in this post several times that this card will not be able to handle SLI. But then why the SLI connector on the side of the card? I would buy two of these the day they released if it was SLI capable..... but if it's not there is no reason for me to do it ... Already owning two and also several higher end cards then that too.... Like I.E. GTX 570's and 6950's

I agree with the cost of 2 460's. so ~$400.00 mark.
Because it cannot do SLI with another card it places the card into a very niche market. People with 1 PCI-e slot, small cases, work related? Doesn't appear to give any advantages to just running 2 460's in SLI.

I do like the card though :)

Because it was too late to remove the SLI connector:

I think it is hilarious it has a SLI connector but no SLI support haha. And the fact they used 460 gpu's instead of 560 hmmm...

Or was this supposed to release along with the 460's and just got over delayed like the P67... I am assuming they wanted to get SLI to work on this, but they couldn't get it working right considering they got a PCB with an SLI connector on it... and now jacob mentioned it was to late to remove it.

And whats the deal with the snail trail? Who thought of that...

Hello

I have 2 GTX 295, do you think your new card will be better than my 2 cards togeather ?

I have just purchased the ad'hox screen but I feel it doesn't work well with my machine.

Best regards
