Unfortunately this product does not currently support SLI.

But it has a SLI slot on it

Anyways. Why not 560s? xD

Also, Jacob, I love EVGA... but you folks have to get more consistent with your digital branding. Each product page has the same basic elements but the graphics associated are all just different enough to look like you didn't mean for it to be that way but not differentiated enough to look intentional (this applies to GPUs, Mobos, everything). Maybe it's just me, but I know a little about branding and strategy.

Hmm... not sure what you mean?

Unfortunately this product does not currently support SLI.

So later there will be drivers for SLI?

And do you have any plans to make a duel GTX 560 Ti GPU card? Like GALAXY have?

I believe this is EVGA's own dual 460, I would purchase this if I was an everyday gamer that wanted to go 2-4 screen monitors. Now the prices I gave earlier should sound about right.

Pricing will be lower than 580. What do you think is a fair price?

$429.99

That price sounds perfect.

Length is 11.5in, should fit in most chassis that can fit a 580.

License plate depends on the state you reside in

damn wouldn't fit my antec 300 then, I measure it 11" from the hardrive bay to the slot bracket.

i would like this card if it supported SLI but the fact that it doesnt is a major minus in my book

It outperforms a GTX 580 and may cost less. Sounds like a win so far.

not necessarily saying its a bad card but it doesn't have an upgrade option so to speak which is a drawback.

If this card is not SLI capable, why is there an external SLI connector? This is now going to be my upgrade path from my GTS 450, which just plain isnt providing enough horsepower to do what i need it to.

It's probably just being nit-picky...

When you look at the homepage and click on the GTX 560 Ti image there is a yellow outline, then compared with the 440 page and now the 460 2Win page there is none of that. To me, visually, it says that 4xx series is just meh but the 560 is where it's at. Also, the font size and position of the card model itself is inconsistent vertically and horizontally. I realize there's some spacing limitations but it would really look much sharper transitioning from one to the others if the positioning was consistent as the images fade out/in.

Then on the actual product page itself, everything is a bit messy with all the fonts and styles. The 560 Ti page is fairly polished and consistent by comparison. But the 460 2Win page... Each major section (which is it's own image) seems disjointed from the previous image/section. It just doesn't flow visually and feels unnecessarily complicated for page totally without borders. Then you get to the specs at a glance and the white background pic with the spec table to the side with the green borders... ugh, for products so great their product pages deserve a little more polish! People notice these things and subconsciously make decisions when they see it.

Again... don't take it the wrong way. I love EVGA and the products and the branding and marketing is great -- but the number 1 seller needs number 1 branding, trade dress, and graphics design to support it -- your products are the best show them off in the best way possible and don't let the visuals distract. The latest round of box designs are great though. I think those are less cluttered and a step in the right direction over the 2xx designs. Anyway, sorry if it feels like I'm busting chops unnecessarily. I know you all put in a lot of hard work so you deserve the spoils from it.

I maybe wrong but I think jacob means it won't work in quad SLI, but the card itself will still work in regular SLI right?

The card must support SLI to support both GPUs on the card.  If it didn't support SLI, the second GPU on the card would be usueless to gamers.

The card does not support Quad SLI.  In other words, it can not be placed in SLI with another card.  Jacob said that the SLI connector being present was a result of some sort of mixup.  The SLI connector will likely be capped off with a plastic cap on the retail card.

Re:Introducing the EVGA GTX 460 2Win! 2011/03/10 19:01:13 (permalink)
This looks simply amazing. The cooling on it looks like it could handle two GPUs. I'm more interested in finding out how much noise it makes. As far as air cooled cards go, my main concern is indeed noise. Once my 460 EE gets spooled up it can be distracting at times. Also these in SLi would be super neat. I know it has been stated that there is no support yet. But here's to dreaming.

I think a fair price point would be in the 375$ to 430$ area. A lot of 460's are still selling for 200$. However if it out performs a 580, I could be talked into spending a little bit more. Although I'm not really in the market for this card. I already have 460's running in SLi.

I would say around 399-430 dollars. If you can SLI two of them I would say 420-440 price range.

Its cheaper to make than the 580.... 2x GTX 460 1gb cards go for about 134-200 Rebates/bstock/second hand new. Its alot cheaper to make than a GTX 580. Should not cost more than one.

even if SLI isnt supported, this looks like a great folding card.  throw 4 of them on an SR-2 or 4way, and rake in the points.  the only way i could see getting more power is finding a way to put 7 580HC2s in a rig.

230 GB/s memory bandwidth?!

2 GB of memory per GPU would be desired by some (instead of only 1 GB per GPU) for high surround resolutions.

Other than a couple of points for contention, the card looks great on paper.  Only time will tell if the card will hold up to its tasks.  Performance slightly higher than the GTX 580 at a price slightly lower than the GTX 580 was a wise decision by EVGA staff.  This should make the product a pretty hot product.

Since this card cannot support more than regular SLI, it cannot compete with the upgradeability of the GTX 580 which can be expanded into dual through quad SLI arrangements.

Re:Introducing the EVGA GTX 460 2Win! 2011/03/10 19:15:24 (permalink)
So I have 2 questions:

A) Will this be SLI capable for Quad-SLI?

B) How will (if even) Step-Up work for this? price/performance (especially if you can Quad-SLI) would probably be tempting for a lot of people, and since my rebate got denied I'm looking to significantly Step-Up my GTX 465. Anywho, the main point is, Step-Up allows for upgrades to 'better' GPU cores, yet the 460 2WIN is technically a lower tier GPU core than my 465, yet it's vastly more powerful. Can I Step-Up?

Edit: Apparently I hadn't refreshed the page and the topic is hot enough that my Quad-SLI question has been answered in earlier posts. However, if EVGA has plans to make this Quad-SLI, that'd be awesome, otherwise I'd wait for the GTX 590 for a Dual GPU PCB considering (with rebates/promotions) 2 GTX 460s will likely be cheaper than this (unless this is $300 which I highly doubt).

I am a little worried about all 2 GPU cards.. my GX2''s died an early death and were replaced by GXT 280's.  I fear this card will end up the same way..   that being said.. can I run 3 of these in non sli mode in my 3 way SLI momma board and fold like a mad man?

Unfortunately it was too late to remove it from the PCB before it went to production.

Not really smart to be honest cause I could see alot of upset gamers that get 2 of these to find that out, cause when they see dual GPU card they automaticly think quad sli and order them.

Oh, and I have to say I'm disappointed to learn that this awesome stock fan belongs to a Dual 460 GPU PCB and not EVGA's spin on the upcoming GTX 590, considering a single blower-style fan just wouldn't do such a card justice. Still a great concept and great to see companies designing their own cards, like what ASUS did with their MARS/ARES series, I just want to see more of it! And if this is given Quad-SLI at any point in time... Which brings up the question, why isn't this Quad-SLI? Are the GF104 (I think) GPUs incapable of Quad-SLI and is limited to 2-way SLI or is it just that the board didn't have the active SLI connector designed into it?
