Via usb or has to be aux

So is it supposed to go out from the video card into the input, also connect to the PC via USB-C, then go out from the capture card into the monitor?
Does it not capture headset/mic audio if it's not connected to the aux port?

3.5mm directly into the XR1 you would not be able to control USB audio devices.

It's a great looking and a nice surprise to see show up since so many people love gaming streams. It does look nice and most streamers want 1080p 60fps for Youtube.

    Couple of questions:
Given that the specs say USB 3.0, its safe to assume the speed is 5Gbps? (aka USB 3.2 Gen 1x1 because let's make naming complicated with current USB specification)
It says "Advanced Pass Through" max 1440p@120 but the page also mentions 144hz + HDR, meaning 1080p@144 or something else?
Lastly, is there any info on capture latency?

Does this work on Mac OBS or just Windows OBS?

Does the video stream appear to the computer as would a plain old webcam stream, so you can use a nice video camera with Zoom, etc? I assume so since the product page says, "Connect a camera to set up web conference, meetings, lectures, or seminars for higher video quality." But it would be nice to have some details, including how this would work on Windows vs Mac.

I am super interested in this as a general purpose HDMI capture device for conferencing, but the OBS support is the least important part to me, ya know?

Re: Introducing EVGA XR1 Capture Device!! 2020/09/16 17:03:39 (permalink)
So it mentions that Advanced Pass Through maxes out at 1440p/120fps with HDR on so you can get 144Hz. Does that mean if you don't have HDR your FPS cap would be higher at 1440p?

Edit: In the marketing image it says 120Hz inside the image for APT, is that meant to be 144Hz?

Hi, does this support 1080p240hz passthrough? I am still pretty naive to how all of this works, but I use GSYNC and displayport and am under the impression I cannot use this at the same time as that, or can I using mirror display? Hopefully EVGA can help. (Or send me the XR1 based on that survey response I submitted so I can try for myself *hint hint*)

Would you still need a capture card to use with this or would you not need a capture card.An a second question is can you hook up game consoles and a web cam on the same one or would you need 2 of these to do the job.

I use a Razer Ripsaw and I can't stand it. The framerate tanks out of nowhere and I have to reset my audio every hour or so because it loses connection. I'm dying to get into something better! For audio, since I use a USB mic/headset, how would this capture audio for streaming purposes?

Will it work fine with older gaming console, if you buy an adapter to turn like RCA to HDMI?

Is the idea behind this to offload the processing from your computer to this device? This device seems cool but I'm trying to understand the purpose a little better.
