Yeah well I'm a hypernerd who signed up for the queue .05 seconds after it went live and I got my card so everybody else after me who hasn't gotten their card 6 months later is just a crybaby. The system works!

What a joke. Evga literally throws you guys soup bones while they feed pounds of meat to retailers and you want us to thank them for their grace. Have you seen the queue lists? Most cards haven't made it past the first 5 days of release. You'd literally have a better chance of getting a card by just walking into a microcenter and rolling the dice. I've been seeing 20+ EVGA cards a day land at a single microcenter and yet the queue will move by like 5 seconds if you're lucky? Yeah, just keep waiting, maybe you'll score a 3080 when the 5080 comes out.

Imagine thinking companies actually care about you 😂
"Durrrrrr the scalpers actually hurt them."

Yeah okay, next you'll tell me that the movie industry is actually very damaging to the popcorn industry.

Yeah, sorry. I don't have loads of cash just sitting around to buy up cards for ludicrous costs. I'm in the queue for a 3080 ftw3 ultra. I didn't get into the queue until I knew I could afford it. I'm just a person trying to keep his head down in the middle of this pandemic as it takes family and lives away from all around.

I don't have a clue what NaCI mining is. I really don't give a either at this point. You are just another person who does not give a about anyone else. Which makes you the same as all the scalpers in my eyes.

I was in queue for the 3080 FTW3 Ultra on release day (9/17) and got mine about 2 weeks after the queue system was implemented.  I understand money is tight & why it is tight for a lot of people, but my point stands, and coming on the forums to cry about the situation then retreating to "I'm just trying to get a card during this crapfest" is not a good defense for attacking everyone that has a card & everyone involved in NVidia's echelon of the industry.

Have fun with that attitude though, I'm sure you'll go far.

You need to realize that EVGA has long-standing contracts with retailers which they have to supply. If there's 20+ EVGA cards arriving every day at a single microcenter, then tell us which one it is, because I call total on that. Regardless, EVGA is the ONLY company that is at least doing what they can to give real users the chance to get a card through the elite program and their queue system, unlike ASUS or anyone else. If you have to rant and rave, go to NVidia and rant and rave at them - NVidia is the one that controls supply to ALL the other companies like EVGA and ASUS etc. and they are ultimately 100% responsible for the lack of supply, NOT EVGA. Better yet, go scream at Wuhan for the virus that caused all this mayhem.

Imagine not being able to accept reality that companies have obligations & can't just throw all their supply at a queue system they implemented to try & help people have a decent chance at cards back when there was literally no supply in stores for months.

Also, your little dig about "hyper nerd" and "getting in queue quick" is funny - The Kingpin specifically was announced before it launched when the queue would be opening.  The Hybrid cards were as well.  So, you not paying attention enough to know when they were opening is no one's fault but your own, and attacking people that got cards to make yourself feel better is very "adult" of you /sarcasm

I understand the queue system isn't working the way it was intended, but you need to understand reality, supply was bad, supply has gotten worse, they have obligations to fulfill orders to stores/retailers that they cannot break - the queue is a luxury, not a priority.

LOL isnt it Hangry?

I tried to upgrade my system before going in for brain surgery in December.  Ended up with a Ryzen 3900x not the 5900x I preferred, luckily just before the price on them spiked. I have been looking for a graphics card since than and it seems to me that there is not as much a supply problem as there is a scalper problem "manipulation of supply chain" as I can find cards for sale but not at any price that I would be willing to pay. Same goes for the 5000 series cpu's. I can literately go and purchase either locally today through craigslist or online at ebay and often amazon. Props to Micro center that often does sell units to walk in customers but many of us don't have a Microcenter.  Anyhow unless you are going to die in the next few months this should pass and you will be able to get your parts and hopefully the supply chain will be corrected over time to make sure "Valued Customers" can actually purchase products without the extra middle bots -n- men.  So as the dice roll I wait to see if I get a 3060 3070 or 6800 and I am think I may prefer to try the latter for their current linux support my main OS but will probably acquire which ever comes first.

Now it says "Preparing for shipment". I think I was lucky enough to snatch these in preorder.

So $60 premium for back plate and slight stock overclock...cool.

Re: Introducing EVGA RTX 3060 12GB Built for Gamers 2021/02/25 05:56:03 (permalink)
On one of the YouTube tech channels (think it was Greybeard), they showed one of the EVGA cards on new egg for the 339 MSRP, hoping that turns out to be reality and the same for the Queue (the listing went live before it should have, but quickly got pulled, much like the Amazon one that some of you got lucky with).  At that price, I think I would go for it, but if it ends up being closer to ~389 for the cheapest 3060, then I'm a lot less enthusiastic about it.  The leaked reviews so far basically put it at 2060 Super performance with more VRAM, with the cost and VRAM being its selling points over last gen. Of course in the current market, even a 2060 Super at old retail price sadly looks like a bargan these days.

I'm hoping the real reviews will be more encouraging (like maybe better ray-tracing than the 2060 Super or something like that to differentiate it a bit more).

I thought that it would be 2070Super equivalent and not the 2060 Super, as the 3060TI is over the 2080 and about equal to 2080Super?

It's salt.  (NaCl - sodium chloride)

I am with you in that I wish there was some form of status update regarding the amount of cards being pushed through the queue.

But, then it would be even more blatantly obvious that 3060 Ti and 3080 dies simply aren't being shipped by Nvidia because apparently yields are much better than expected so Nvidia is not cutting down dies that could otherwise be 3070 and 3090 cards to make volume sales.  So yes, Nvidia does make out as you put it, but it is because of that, not scalpers.

EVGAs cards are still basically at MSRP, though... EVGA is forcing people to use a queue, vetting the orders to make sure they aren't bots and limiting card sales to 1 per household. I'm really not sure what else you want them to do at this point. Just because you want a card doesn't mean you automatically get a card. There is legitimately a shortage and there's a lot of other people that want cards. EVGA has done far more for consumers than any of the other retailers or AIBs.

Many of the AIBs are directly selling to miners wholesale and bragging about it on social media. MSI and ASUS have taken full advantage of this situation and are way above MSRP right now. EVGAs prices haven't budged and they're doing everything they can to make sure you get a card.

All good points, but still waiting on a queue for the last 3 months that has moved exactly 11 minutes, its not reassuring (the 3060TI that is). With that rate, I can expect a card sometime next year around February...

I love the evga queue system.  i got myself a 3090 kingpin, my son a 3090ftw3 ultra, and my daughter a 3080ftw3 ultra without any fuss.  All i did was read when they said signups would go live and signed up then waited my turn.  Very happy.  I have been a lifetime EVGA fanboy and they leveled up in my eyes.

Yeah, that's what I was hoping for too, but I was apprehensive the moment they showed the slides in their own reveal promo for it comparing it to the 2060, and not a huge gain either.  For someone like me still using an old GPU (GTX 670) that is struggling in recent games from both horsepower and its 4GB VRAM, the 3060 would still be a pretty good upgrade, but if I had a 1070 or better, I think I'd still be inclined to wait for something better.  They marketed it as an upgrade for 1060 and older card owners, and it does live up to that even if its a bit underwhelming compared to the other 30 series cards.

I will still try to queue for one, but won't be heartbroken, if work prevents me from getting in the early part of the queue (I'd much rather have a 3060ti, but that queue is barely moving).

I think there is also still hope that the real reviews (the leaked stuff is just for the synthetic benchmarks) will paint a better picture, but as long as people know what to expect before they finalize their order, thats whats is important.

Yeah same here, the 3060TI is not moving at all, I signed on the same day of the release and probably not going to get one, since the queue has moved only 11 minutes since I started to monitor it, a few months back. But regardless, it will be nice to get at least one of the 3060 versions, hopefully the cheapest possible, really hate paying even a dime over the intended price by nVidia.

Either 9am or midday California time. Possibly midday since EVGA are starting a podcast around then, and probably going to be giving away a 3060 (guessing).

Where do people usually go to find the queue when the card goes live? I've never tried buying an EVGA card before from their website (I usually buy from NewEgg, but that has been impossible with bots).
