Most reviews have the 3060 at ~5% slower than a 2070 Super, and about 10-15% faster than a 2060 Super, based on what I have seen

Not really, I was just looking at the new Hardware Unboxed video and Gamers Nexus before that, the overall conclusion is that is a flop and a big let down.
If you are looking at RT performance is slightly better compared to 2060S, but with no RT, its just the same card with slightly more Vram, that no one really needs on this level card. Everyone agrees that if the price was $275, it would have looked a lot better.
I still have 2070 and as soon as I get the 3060 will compare them, my expectations is for both to be almost exactly the same.

Those numbers are almost identical to what Hardware Unboxed said, it's definitely closer to a 2070 super than it is to a 2060 super. Though I think we are splitting hairs. $330 is terrible, but that's better than buying a used 2070 on ebay for $700-900 for most people. Discussions about price is a total joke right now, once things calm down (could be another year), nVidia will launch a 3060 Super refresh at ~$300 and it will be right in between the 3060 and the 3060 Ti...playing the same game AMD is playing with a $479 6700 XT. That card should be $400 or less, to match the 5700 XT from before

We're not getting sub $250 x060 series GPUs back any time soon... need to come to grips with it. RTX series prices jumped two years ago. RTX2060 launched at $349, RTX2060 Super at $399 (dropping the non-Super to $299 after a year on market). You are also paying for the extra VRAM on this particular model (whether or not you actually need it). Keep in mind that rumored 6GB variants (3060/3050Ti) should drop with a price closer to expectations, $200-$300 range.
This RTX3060 comes in somewhere 2060S < 3060 < 2070/2070S for performance, and reviews are all over the map depending upon game suite. This tells me there are driver optimizations to be had. The 3060 is a nice upgrade for those people holding out from 1000 series and older midrange GPUs... but maybe they should hold out for the cheaper variants if they want to save some $$.

Yes unfortunately the current global situation gave a great advantage to nVidia and their partners to play the price game without any hesitation, and it will take a very long time go back to normal, if ever actually, fallowing the logic that once the prices go up, they almost never go back down.

Now do all the other AIBs. Oh, wait, you can't. Some of them don't offer forums in which to impugn their motives...and none of them offer a queue system. The queue system remains the worst method for selling gpus with the goal of getting them to actual gamers/consumers...except for all of the other methods.

Are you American/Canadian? The EU queue has not even budged, we are getting unfair treatment that is why I made the post. Nothing personal of course, I think EVGA's queue system is our best hope, but you just can't deny the treatment between various regions is highly unfair, we didn't even move 15 seconds from launch. Americans must be happy of course. We also do not pay less so I see no reason EVGA would do this, that is why I said ''sellout department". So now you know, what can you do about it? Blame the silicon shortage for the different treatment between regions?

That's a side-grade. If you don't need DLSS/RT support/Streaming...3070 would be the minimum i would upgrade to. Anything below 3070, I doubt you'd see a noticeable difference

Yeah, it may look like it :) True story: ordered card for my friend but he got Gigabyte Gaming OC for almost 700PLN (150 euro) more and didn't want EVGA anymore. So it went to "polish ebay" ;)

Is there any word on the XC Black edition, not much movement on those cards, I guess EVGA prefers to sell the more expensive version of the 3060 and not the base line MSRP one?
