It looks like this has been answered by Lee, but I just want to confirm that an option would be to buy the 1080 Ti SC Black, and down the road if I decide I would like, I can get the 1080Ti hybrid kit for it? If so, that seems like a win, given the price is the same on the SC vs the FE

The 1080 TI Hybrid kit page already lists model 11G-P4-6393-KR, the Black Edition, as being compatible.

Ah, I missed that, as did EVGA chat, haha. Thank you!

sorry to bump an old thread.

Is there any difference in the PCB between the SC2 and SC2 Elite?

I kind of thought they were the same except the color on the fan shroud, but EKWB lists a compatible (FE/reference) cooler for the SC2 but not the SC2 Elite.

thoughts?

Rig1: EPYC 7V12 | [4] RTX A4000
Rig2: EPYC 7B12 | [5] 3080Ti + [2] 2080Ti
Rig3: EPYC 7B12 | [6] 3070Ti + [2] 3060
Rig4: [2] EPYC 7742 | RTX A2000
Rig5: [2] EPYC 7642
Rig6: EPYC 7551 | [4] Titan V

SC2 and SC2 Elite have the same PCB.

I'd check on the EK compatibility list, since the SC2 and SC2 Elite cards do not generally work with a FE/reference layout (iCX components, safety fuse, extra fan headers, etc.).  The SC Black Edition, however, does have a reference PCB and should generally be supported on 1080 Ti reference layouts.

I just spent a little time with an EKWB rep about the water blocks listed as compatible with the 1080 TI SC2 gaming 11G-P4-6593-KR. They had me take measurements of the fan headers in question. The fan header by the 8+6 pin power connectors is offset from the mounting hole up there. With it offset, wider, and horizontal rather than vertical, it extends just outside of their cutout up there by a few millimeters. The header on the opposite corner (by the DVI connector) looks like it MIGHT fit inside their cutout, however their max clearance on the cutout is 5.5mm high and the header housings are 6-7mm in height. They just took the compatible listing off. *big sad face* I'm struggling to find a full cover water block solution for the 1080 ti SC2.

Currently trying to get confirmation that the hydro copper listed by EVGA is indeed compatible. *fingers crossed*
