The build I made a couple of months ago (minus gpu) is in my sig. Even with my 1070 frames are very nice in games and it is still a big upgrade from my last build. It will be cool to see it with a 3080 some day.

    I'm still on 1080p but when I get a new card I'll be going 1440p ultrawide :)

My build assembled and cable managed roughly 3 months ago minus the gpu.  Upgrading from a laptop with i5-6200u, 4gb of memory and slow ass 1tb hdd.  It served it's purpose but after a few years of 9-10 minute load times enough is enough :)

Why would you get 64gigs of ram?

Or 32 for that matter. I had 32 and even when converting video never got above 9 to 11 gigs huge videos in the gigs.

That is going to be a killer PC. I was considering the 980 pro but decided I didn't need all that speed so went with the Seagate

That is the first PC I built this year (above) using some old parts from another build (sans the 3080 being "old parts")
9700K, 16GB RAM, EVGA 3080 FTW Ultra, Cheap ASUS ITX Board, NZXT AIO CPU Cooler, Thermaltake Tower 100 Case

My newer build has a Dell OEM 3080... which is really crappy. It is a reference board.... so it doesn't boost very high, and it is smaller with only 2 fans that are kinda loud. I am trading someone this 3080 for a brand new Aorus Master 3070 Ti.  Those specs and pics:

    Ryzen 5900 (NON-"x" OEM CPU. 12 Core, 24 Thread, 65 watt TDP)
Dell 3080 (Soon to be Aorus 3070 Ti)
    32GB 3200Mhz RAM
    Aorus B550 Pro AC Motherboard
Be Quiet Shadow Rock 3 CPU Air Cooler
    Elgato 4K Pro Capture Card

This has been in my shopping cart for months, but waiting to get a GPU before I start ordering:

    CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X
    Heatsink: Noctua NH-D15 chromax.black
Motherboard: MSI B550-A PRO ATX AM4
    RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4-3600 CL18 16 GB (2 x 8 GB, or maybe 4 x 8 GB)
Drive: Western Digital Black SN850 1 TB (or similar)
PSU: Corsair RM 650W (or maybe 750W)
    Case: Corsair 4000D Airflow

For GPU: I would love 3070, but I'd also settle for a reasonably priced 3060ti or a 3070ti.

I am finishing attic PC (meaning from older components I had stored in attic)

    Case: Thermaltake Armor+
    Motherboard: Gigabyte Z87 UD5H
CPU: 4770k - putting there unused stock cooler, quiet
    Memory: 16GB Corsair Vengeance
    Disk: Samsung 840 PRO
    PSU: Coolermaster Realpower M850

I exhumed 9800GTX graphics card and everything works fine, and stress tests are stable, GPU has 16 years
old thermal paste and it is good, not necessary to replace, I only disassembled and cleaned 16 years old PSU
    and oiled PSU fan.
This build is ok, but I decided yesterday to order new PSU for safety reasons (Evga 600 W2, because my retailer has crazy discount on it)
and I nicely asked retailer for GPU discount, so they sold me RX 560 with 70% discount.
Just be good and others will be good too.

Hopefully parts (GPU and PSU) will arrive today, so I will be able to finish this thing.

How is the airflow in Phanteks Evolv X? It looks like the front panel is solid with small vents on the side?
I need to increase airflow in my existing case because 3080 ti punishes with 450W and was looking at Phanteks cases.

So I am quite happy with it. I think Gamers Nexus gave the case an above average rating on this. My config is 3 intake in front, 3 exhaust on the top, and one exhaust in the back. I manually adjusted the front intakes to have more flow than the exhaust fans to get that positive pressure. It has a GTX 1070 (air cooled vertical) in it right now and every time I game that case just dumps heat out the back and top. I don't have any temp readings off the top of my head (did them waaay back).

It' so cool how the card is vertical like that. Does it get good airflow?

TBH, it’s not the best airflow… but it’s passable.
The 3080 FTW card was previously in a Thermaltake P3 case… and it ran cooler… but that is not a fair comparison because that is an open air case.

    What I have so far:
    CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 3700X
Mobo: ASUS Rog Strix X570 E-gaming
    RAM: HyperX Predator 3333 Mhz CL16 (4x8GB)
    Storage: ADATA SX8200 Pro 1TB

I want to get at least RTX 3080, but RTX 3080 Ti is my goal. If CPU bottleneck GPU too much I will change it to 3900X or 5900X.
I still have on my shopping list:
Case: bequiet! Pure Base 500DX Black.
Cooling: DARK ROCK PRO TR4 135/120mm
Backup storage: Crucial 1TB 2,5" SATA SSD MX500
PSU: bequiet! Straight Power 11 850W 80 Plus Gold

So yesterday retailer supplied PSU and graphics card, so I finished attic PC. It is clear that Evga in EU is working with retailers as partners because that Evga PSU discount was crazy, so if anyone wonders why queue in EU is slow - Evga in EU is working with retailers first and it is not bad thing.
