Hydro copper 2080 thermal pads thickness

Hello,
 
I'm a proud owner of an EVGA RTX2080 XC Ultra as well as of a Hydrocopper 2080.
 
The block came with preinstalled thermal pads, i peeled the plastic, and applied some MX4 on the die X pattern.
Boots fine, i ran a benchmark and to my concern the GPU hits the high 80c under load.
My guess is that the block isn't seated correctly due to the thermal pads. I should stripped them from the block and place them on the board myself.
 
Also i was wondering what kind of thickness is required for the different parts of the board, i couldn't find any informations about it.
 
Any detailed diagrams is also greatly appreciated.
