My speed seems to fluctuate pretty significantly but usually I am over 100mbps, for the most part I am satisfied with Comcast here, just wish they would let me purchase an internet only package.

Best result I've ever gotten in the 5+ years we've lived here. Although the first couple of years were even worse because we could only get cellular - shared between 3-4 people. Thankfully there's a company trenching in fiber around here with installations starting this summer. Gigabit FTTH for less than we're paying now, with no contract.

I'm at like 12/4mbs on a WISP in central coast cali.
Service comes from literally 20 miles away via a 5ghrz hop from ubiquiti.
Who said living on a 4k acre ranch meant loss of connection... pfft...
damn cows got facebook pages now though...

We have 1 gb/s fiber here, but it's often hard to find a server that can handle the full speed of it. I'm not a fan of the new speedtest.net. I liked the old one better, as I could often find a server that was empty enough to handle the full 1 gb/s. I guess that's one nice thing about building a new house in my city.... they all get fiber to the curb. CenturyLink has been a really good isp, too. I've had zero down time in the three years that we've had their service. There's even a backup battery on the outside of the house; if the power goes out, the internet will stay up for two hours. :) I think we pay 175 bucks per month for it. So yeah, it's pricey, but with a house of four people constantly on the internet, and constantly streaming to two tv's, we feel it's worth it. This one's a little better, but yeah... it's hard to find a server that will actually show accurate results for a 1 gig fiber connection. : /

Actually getting triple-play fiber from Movistar @300Mbps symmetric but rather than the bandwidth is the very low ping I have to game WoW game servers. Many years ago (participated on the early ADSL deploy tests circa 2000) started with a 256/128Kb ADSL and compared with those nasty 56K PPP links was quite a jump.

I wish cable internet providers would stop with all the data cap nonsense. My ISP claims only 3% of its customers have exceeded 1TB data cap. If that is true, why would they bother enforcing any data cap. My connection speed is 50/5.
