Hi, I need help. As the title states, I need to pick the right UPS for my needs. My system specs are: Intel Core i7-6700K Arctic Liquid Freezer 360 (360mm AIO water cooler) Asrock Fatal1ty Z170 Professional Gaming i7 2 x G.Skill Ripjaws 16GB 3200MHz (32GB total) 2 x Samsung 860 Pro 512GB 3 x Seagate Ironwolf Pro 8TB 7200rpm 256MB 2 x Nvidia GTX 980Ti Gigabyte Waterforce (has 120mm AIO water cooler built-in on each) 2-Way SLI EVGA SuperNOVA 1000 P2 I need a UPS that would have enough capacity to power my system for at least 10min. Does anybody know what would the specifications of such a UPS be, and maybe make and model of a high quality one. Thanks.

The best way would be to get a kill-a-watt and see how much power your computer is drawing. Do you want 10 minutes of idle time or 10 minutes of gaming or other high load situations? I'm sure there are some calculators out there where you input your system specs and it tells you what to buy.

Thanks for all the replies. To answer HaywireHaywood, I need 10 minutes to save all my work and properly shutdown all apps, programs and my desktop, so a little more consumption than Idle, but not as much as for gaming. Most of the online calculators Google found for me were the ones used to build a PC, not ones for this. To answer Holdolin, yes, your link did help. Now at least I have a starting point. Thank you both.

Google search = https://www.amazon.com/P3-P4400-Electricity-Usage-Monitor/dp/B00009MDBU Depending on where you live the connector will change You use it to check what the power draw is being pulled through it and you can monitor voltage at that plug A good UPS with an LCD screen can tell you as well - but that is after the fact, since you needed to know before you bought it. Another good online PSU / UPS calculator is - Power Supply Calculator - PSU Calculator | OuterVision APC is generally a good brand, I have 6 or 7 of those here A good one is one that you can change the battery in when it starts to die after a few years of usage

That BX1500m is in my "To Get List" as my current 1000 APC UPS on my X299 system "works" for normal usage and gaming but the over current alarm goes off if I try to benchmark. It got upset the other day when I did a test run of handbrake. Had to plug into the power strip directly for that operation

I would choose Cyberpower over APC. In my experience, the batteries in the Cyberpower lasted a lot longer than APC.
