Well it turns out I've got enough parts to build another computer . I really don't want to but have no choice . Need one for gaming and one for bench marking. That's without all the other laptops . Don't think the Mrs. Is happy but what can you do . It's not like I have a choice , is it ?

I agree that it's always nice to have a backup since I have had parts go out and it's no fun to have to find a part local and have limited options or have to buy online and wait for it to show up with a system down until it comes.

It's a slam dunk, Dude. In fact, you are saving money. They made you do it. Easier to build from scratch rather than upgrade. The parts are just sat there, idle; better to make use of them. If you don't use them now they will be obsolete in the future ... Is that enough encouragement?

By having one of the fans blowing air in different direction than the other two on your side panel, you're effectively cancelling out two of them. With this configuration it is like having one intake fan. Have them all push air in the same direction if this is a finished build.

It's the proper thing to do - don't let parts sit around feeling orphaned . Systems must be built & used.

I understand your need! I have a build I put on hold since last year due to a broken wrist in December. Still out of work. All I need is a cpu. My build is: EVGA X299 Dark EVGA RTX Kingpin Hybrid 64 GB Corsair ram EVGA Super Nova 1600 T2 psu Samsung V-NAND SSD 940 PRO NVMe M.2 512 GB Looks like it'll be another 6 months before I can finish it.

Im still experimenting but thanks for the advice . I'll probably turn that one around and have the 2 at the bottom exhausting , not much else I can do. Unless anyone else has an idea ? The fan placement is strange on this lian li case .

I would actually test out the side fans as intake since all your intakes are coming from rads. That can slightly cool down the temps since all that air are from rads, entering another rad up top for exhaust.

Not quite sure what you mean . Picture would be gr8 . On my case , I can't fit fans to the front, just the side . From what I can see , you can only fit fans/rads to the top,side or bottom .

Lian li all finished . I can now get back to my OC rig with the kingpin and X299 system .
