Gtx 1080 Ftw Pricing question

has evga hiked the cost of this ftw 1080 in this past few days as my local store went from 889.99 cad to 914.99 as of my checking today. are these cards not supposed to be like remotely close to msrp or are all the AIB just price gouging from the usual paper launch ?

    The price of the card should be the price reflected at EVGA.com. It is possible for local retailers to hike the price due to high demand and limited stock, but we have not been informed at this time of any price hike on our end

    EVGA sets the MSRP, any store can decide to sell it for more or perhaps less.
     
    The list price, also known as the manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP), or the recommended retail price (RRP), of a product is the price at which the manufacturer recommends that the retailer sell the product. The intention was to help to standardise prices among locations. While some stores always sell at, or below, the suggested retail price, others do so only when items are on sale or closeout/clearance.

    well memory express didn't get that memo then kind a dirty move for them few days ago it was like 889 cad they just hiked it to 914.99 and claim evga increased prices so i figured i would ask. for a crooked company like that i'll just order from evga site and not bother with the extra $$ for in store product replacement plans and use that for shipping.
