Probably sell them eventually but for now just leaving everything as is until my health issues are resolved. It's driving me crazy not to be messing around with computer stuff right now. I might end up selling my chiller and just give it all up right now unfortunately.

Which chiller do you have?

Koolance EXC-800

Ah, okay. nice.

I see they have one that goes to -20C now.

Quit jumping on examples as if they are topics. A favorite forum mistake.

Yeah looks like the EXC 900 has replaced the EXC 800. I was able to get -10c with the 800. A lot depends on how much your trying to cool. I cool gpus only in the chiller loop. On average it would cool 20-22c below ambient temp.

I see Koolance wants $1799.00 for their new EXC-900.

Man, I could build a Lot of A/C conversion Chillers for that price!

This is very true.

That chiller you made. What refrigerant is in it?

It is a 10 year old A/C conversion that still uses R-22

On another subject,

Remember when I bought that AMD Threadripper 3990X for $1900 on Fleabay?

Well, You guys were right when you said it was too good to be true because I just received a refund for that transaction I made 3 weeks ago back to my Paypal account.

Like I said before, Nothing Ventured, Nothing Gained, But now I have those funds to add onto what I need for my 30xx series build. (Dare I say - Kingpin?)

Yep, So much for another CPU upgrade.

Anyway, I'm still happy with the $1200 price I paid for my AMD 3960X CPU / ASUS ROG Zenith II Extreme Alpha MB.

Now it's back to determining what/when/where/how on obtaining a 30xx series card.

AMD Threadripper CPU Quest.....Take two.

I just happened to find another good Combo Deal on Fleabay. This time it included another ASUS ROG Zenith II Extreme Alpha MB, But also came with an AMD 32-core Threadripper 3970X.

While not an AMD 64-core Threadripper 3990X for $1900.00,  It was still a Good Deal for a best offer of $1695.00 shipped.

Now I'm going through the process of selling my original $1200.00 MB/CPU Combo.

Hopefully I'll have as much luck obtaining a 30xx Series card as I have done with MB's & CPU's.

After watching this presentation about Nvidia, I'm not so sure that I want to purchase a new air-cooled 30xx Ampere series card.
If anything, I definitely need to buy a Water-Cooled Ampere Card or water block for an air-cooled one.

Nice deal. Hope it works out for you.

Thanks Sajin, That should about cover my MB/CPU needs.

But as far as whatever new Ampere card I buy, From what I have seen, I definitely think I will have to use my Chiller to cool them enough.

Just sold my old ASUS MB /AMD 3960X on Fleabay for about the same price I paid for them. Now I can  relax (somewhat) and tomorrow watch the GeForce RTX 3080 Founders Edition reviews (and all related technologies and games) on September 16th at 6 a.m. PST / 9 a.m. EST. and see if I can learn any more about these new cards.

LoL! Seems like whenever I start assembling a new build and finding the components I want everything just keeps snowballing.
I have just been fortunate to be "in the right place at the right time" in obtaining these computer parts and hopefully I'll have the same luck tomorrow with Graphics Cards.

My m.2 dropped firmware, and I sent it in for repair (firmware flash from Samsung) and my wife said, “ugh, since this part broke, wouldn’t it make more sense to replace the whole computer?”

.... I hope she plans on finding this adventure... it was just an M.2 lol.. I am still on x99 with a 6950x, but I am looking forward to AMD’s next hedt cpu/motherboard lineup, and that may be my next big upgrade path.

Random Associate Code >> GDWZE7QOTF << this is NOT my associate code. I do not have an associate code. Feel free to use it to save a few bucks.

That new lineup should prove interesting, But I can't even find a decent price on an AMD 3990X, and they are probably going to release a 4990X!

I have no intention of changing my 3970x it was such a job to put the ekwb monoblock on the zenith ii extreme and bend the custom tubing for the motherboard and both gpus I get sick just thinking about tearing it down. But then again since I'm already having the health issues and can't do much that's even more reason to leave things alone.

Yeah, I feel for ya on having to tear down your custom tubing when you get around to adding newer components. That is the main reason I use clear flexible vinyl tubing on my water cooling builds (and maybe also the fact I'm getting lazier in my Old Age) so that I can just cut and install the lines quickly.

Since I didn't have any decent new graphics cards to install....I thought I would try this....,

Here is a Time Spy Extreme CPU Only Score comparison between the BEST CPU Score I had with my previous Extreme OC rig which consisted of an Intel i9-9980XE -5.0GHz /ASUS Rampage VI Omega / 2x EVGA RTX 2080 Ti Kingpins-2160/2091 and my New AMD 3970X-4.4GHz /ASUS ROG Zenith II Extreme / and 1X EVGA GTX 680 Classified at Stock Settings.

The AMD 3970X Beat my Intel i9-9980XE's Highest Time Spy Extreme CPU Only Score by 51.7% !!

Sorry about that, Yesterday was an extremely long day!

I'm at #49 in the Time Spy Extreme CPU Only HOF which isn't too bad for a first run with the 3970X and yeah, the graphics score is dismal with the GTX 680 classified, But it's all I had to use ATM. lol
