I have one project that absolutely no one knows about, but It didn't work out as i had hoped, so I never really looked too much into it. I may just post it in hopes that others can take off where I have failed.

Hey guys I've made the changes to my bios temp you guys suggested and my temps have gone way down which is great! Thanks again for that, so I'm able to run most every 3D bench without a problem . I'm at a blck of 210 so far and cpu temps are great. However when trying to run with a blck of 212 I mostly get lockups not BSODs. I've tried ram timings at stock setting with no luck a few bumps in different volts, nothing... This is my temp so far... Mother Board ( EVGA X58 Sli E758-A ) Bios ( ? ) CPU ( 920 D0) CPU Cooler ( Chiller 70-80f ) Memory ( Gskill Trident 16000 7-8-7 22 1t ) PSU ( Corsair HX1000W ) GPU ( 9800 GT but swap everyday ) Drivers ( 190.56 ) Operating System W7 Pro / Xp Pro CPU Clock Ratio ( 20X ) CPU Host Frequency (MHz) ( 210 ) MCH Strap (DRAM) CPU Uncore Frequency (MHz) ( auto ) Spread Spectrum ( Disabled ) PCIE Frequency (Mhz) ( 108 ) Turb Performance (Disabled) Extreme Cooling (Disabled) Memory Feature Memory Control Setting ( Enabled ) Memory Frequency ( 2:8 ) Channel Interleave Setting ( 6 Way ) Rank Interleave Setting ( 4 Way ) Parameters tCL Setting ( 7 ) tRCD Setting ( 8 ) tRP Setting ( 7 ) tRAS Setting ( 20 ) tRFC Setting ( 88 ) Command Rate ( 1T ) Voltage Control EVGA VDroop Control ( Without VDroop ) CPU VCore ( 1.53) CPU VTT Voltage ( +250 ) CPU PLL VCore ( 1.500 ) DIMM Voltage ( 1.65 ) DIMM DQ Vref ( +0 ) QPI PLL VCore ( 1.25 ) IOH VCore ( 1.375 ) IOH/ICH I/O Voltage ( 1.625 ) ICH VCore ( 1.25 ) PWM Frequency ( 1067 ) CPU Feature Intel SpeedStep ( Disabled ) Turbo Mode Function ( Enabled ) CxE Function ( Disabled ) Execute Disable Bit ( Disabled ) Virtualization Technology ( Disabled ) Logical Processor Setting Intel HT Technology ( Enabled ) Active Processor Cores ( All ) QPI Settings QPI Control Settings ( Enabled ) QPI Link Fast Mode ( Enabled ) QPI Frequency Selection ( 4.8 GT/s ) I've had the IOH to 1.3 and the IOH/ICH to 1.5 and still get the same lockups. Am I missing anything that could be holding me back to reach 212 blck or higher? I wish hoping to try some DICE runs but after all the CPU problems I'm having would it be a waste of money to invest in a pot and mats?

threed, try 8 8 8 24 2T, and up the ram voltage to 1.7. if no more crashes, it was your ram that was the problem. Then try to get your tighter timings back.

Works fine for me completely removed the Vaseline from a 780 and 790 board which I also had to RMA without issue. I put it in a spray bottle and only removed the residue left after using a blow dryer.

CPU VTT Voltage ( +200 )May not have to be this high and then again maybe not high enough +.300 and see if you can lower v-core DIMM Voltage ( 1.700 ) Try what Natman says then see if you can bring it down Try like 1.67 might be that 1.65 isn't really putting out 1.65 Most likly the problem is here Freezing is often mem related I think. All speculation of course.
