I have 980ti Hybrid at 1575/7800.  I think you should go 1070.  Assuming a 980ti and 1070 are even you get 2 extra gigs of vram, lots of power savings, especially with SLI.  With summer starting, dumping 200 watts of heat less in the room is not a minor thing.

Also if you are into VR etc apparently there are major improvements there also.
The big advantage is that the 980ti's are available in some really nice styles that have some great cooling.  I think those FE cards on SLI will run pretty hot and loud. If you could wait 30 days or so some more AIB coolers might be around.

    Have fun!

I have 13 Fans in my Corsair D900 and 3x radiator.

4 fans wich get air to the GPUs, så I dont think that will be the problem.

I really dont want to wait to long, since I buy GTX 1080 TI when they come at q1

The OCed 980 Ti SLI setup would average 10% faster than the OCed 1070 SLI setup.

The 1070s would take less power to run and be better with VR.

If neither of those two items concern you, I'd go with the more powerful option since 980 Tis are being cleared out, and deals are popping up for 330 to $400 new.

I think he meant how much heat all those fans are pushing into the room your computer is in, You will not only be wasting energy on an older card but also on air conditioning or fans for your room. I had daul AMD r9 295x's before my 1080's and many days over the winter I didn't have to turn on the heat. I could litteraly fell the heat coming off of those cards.

Well the GTX 980 TI deals is not that good in Denmark, a GTX 980 TI cost the same as brand new GTX 1070.

Nicklas... a powerful single 1080 would be a wise decision. - You have to be patient... it's all coming down the hill in a few weeks...

Edit: The nineeighty Ti is dead... literally.

But dont want FE, cards. want aleast the 1070 ACX 3.0

You could step up from two 1070s to two 1080 as long as you follow the step up guidelines, and it is a 90 day window from the date of purchase.

If you are on the hardcore-gamer side, you have to go with two 1080... but not FE... you gotta take two SC or - that would be the better choice -, FTW's... ^^ But I say one 1080 is enough. Save your money for what's coming with the 1080 Ti... this should be Godzilla! - Kind regards.

Edit: One last word, if you buy a Ti, you wasting v-ram. If you buy a FE, you wasting performance...
