That's quite the step up! That was my first PC video card after I switched from Apple computers to self-built rigs. I've been through three generations since then, it's gonna feel like a whole new world for you! xD

Who do I have to bribe to get another of these cards so I don't have to wait months, like usually happens.

Here is picture to remind you how card is nice, dark, big...

They install 980Ti Classified in middle port on X99 Micro, it's same x16.
Than it's much easier and more space for M.2 device example.

1527MHz at 72degrees is pretty good I suppose. Ugh, it's just the wait is killing me, and MSI have tons of their stock everywhere.

I was going to send you a private message but I don't have enough requirements V_V;

Scan.co.uk put the Classy on their site this morning, cheaper than Overclockers and first come first serve preorder.
If that is any use for you Kael? \_^_^_/

Yes, that's my card, sure...
I saw picture on Jacob's Profile on Twitter.
It's not only this model nice, all ACX 2.0 and ACX models, and series 700 Classified and K|NGP|N Classified look good when you install on motherboard.
Because of that I recommend to people who love Classified some case as Caselabs Mercury S8.

I've been swung to sticking it out for the Classified at £619.99. Much more reasonable. I can wait for stock.

Ahhh haha, I'm still all up in the air. I think Scan will charge £10ish delivery on top of that just in case that makes a difference.
It would take the stress away argh..

I am hoping the jump from 260 will be every much as amazing as you say it will be haha.  A bit odd that Scan put it on their site this morning and still advertise the Batman game code despite the game's suspension of sale.

Re: GTX 980 TI Classified 2015/07/03 06:44:10 (permalink)
They do, it's true, but that still works out cheaper... However, I've actually pinged a message to OCUK to see if they might price-match, considering they've had the Classy at £650 since before the final price was known ($50 over reference)

To give you an idea how fast the 980Ti might be compared to your 260: From the GTX 260 I went to 2x 5870s, and my frame rate was at least 2.5 times better. From the 5870s I went to a 780 and again it was 2-3 times faster. Now I'm upgrading to a 980Ti and it's 2x faster again with an overclock. So it'll be like... An order of magnitude faster for you. xD

After this post I think I am able to private message, so if you hear back from OCUK could you either post it or PM me what you find out please?

Crikey, it will be nice not to have my system bottle-necked by my gpu that's for sure.. I was caught in a trap as I originally wanted a 690, then a 780 ti, but the next card kept getting announced. Eventually my studies forced me to finalise on the 980ti, then..I thought.."maybe they will have a classified..." but ENOUGH waiting! Must upgrade!

Hopefully this one will last me another 6-7 generations hahaha.

OCUK don't price match. I cancelled and put an order through with Scan. I recommend you join up at the Hexus forums and make 20 posts to get free delivery. I'll be doing that for the future too, I think.

Just tried to PM you but it says I require 10 posts, and then highlights my 10 posts in Red...er..anyway..

Oh I just pre-ordered on Scan too now. I should have done it this morning to hopefully be at the front of the queue but I was too busy being indecisive.. ergh. I'll keep the hexus info in mind for next time though, thanks!

Everything went through on Scan, got the email too but I can't see anything on my pre-order section, it's empty, I hope I haven't just been shafted haha.

Likewise for me on the pre-order thing, but it does show under Order History. I hear people complain about Scan but their customer service has generally been pretty good for me over the years. OCUK do a good job with lowering the barrier to ownership with cheap reference models but they make up for it by shafting the enthusiasts on non-reference gear. I don't want to pay for their marketing gimmicks.

Was the Classy on Scan since this morning? Wish I'd known earlier!

Oh phew good to know. Yeah mine is in Order history, so slightly reassured.
You actually indirectly helped me by forcing my subconscious hand when you pre-ordered with scan so now I owe you twice for saving me stress and F5ing! I can go out and enjoy the sun!

I didn't trust how OCUK listed the Classified so soon, nor their price. Judging by your testimony I should stay away as I tend to have expensive taste.
I've never used Scan but feel at ease from what you have said.

If I had only done it this morning I could have been at the front of the queue, hindsight is indeed a b*tch. Playing it too careful!
All the best with your order! Exciting times!

My order got bumped up to Tuesday. I should have it by Tuesday or Wednesday. Will benchmark immediately.

For those looking for a good game stability test, I have been using Project CARS for a while now and found it a really good game to dial in overclocks. Max all settings (sans AA) go to single race, set the track to Le Mans, throw in a sunset, thunderstorm, 55 cars and let the AI go in exterior view for 6-24 hours. It is also a pretty good game based CPU test as well. My 4790k at 1.33v/4.9Ghz rests at ~70% overall usage (normal at stock voltage and 4.6 Ghz).

I really like the look of the 980ti Classified but am not sure if it will fit because of the height.

Will a 980ti Classified with power cable connected fit in this case (height wise) Cooltek W2? (can't post link it won't let me but its the first hit if you google it  )

Thanks

Cards look great. Maybe one day I'll be able to wait for a pair but recently I just run out and buy reference as fast as I can.

I cannot share 3DMark links because I don't have enough posts.... but this thing is a beast!  17644 in Firestrike @ stock speed, 18906 @ the best OC I've managed so far.  3DMark doesn't recognize the card yet either.

Re: GTX 980 TI Classified 2015/07/03 15:32:01 (permalink)
Maybe I will even go on 980Ti Classified and water cooling than TITAN X SC.
If I go on TITAN X SC than I will have for Hybrid cooler only. I will see.
Maybe is that chance for one water loop. I would know to build now full custom loop without problem.
But TITAN X SC is still king. Because some experts explain that difference between 980Ti and TITAN X is 5% only.
That's more investment because you can say to self Now I have full chip than performance difference. Even memory 6GB for my resolution is enough.
GTX980Ti Classified is something between TITAN X and TITAN X Superclocked, closer to TITAN X Superclocked.
And you can enjoy in "full chip" or to invest in custom water loop and provide cooling for now and for future.
