Hello,
I recently bought a new DP to HDMI cable and wanted to connect my U2311H DELL monitor using the DP interface but when I connect the cable to the screen and to the HMDMI input in the graphics card no signal is coming and the monitor doesnt seem to be recognized...
tried also with VGA cable using the motherboard input and also with no success..
seems the monitor only recognize the dvi interface with the graphics card input.
my card is EVGA GTX960 4GB SSC..
any suggestions?

Possibilities
A: It's a bad cable
B: Its a bad monitor port
C: It's a bad port on the GPU
Solutions
A: Get a replacement cable
B: Last resort, replace the monitor under warranty
C: Try a different port on the GPU
Let us know what happens.

Most likely you just got a 'bad' cable and it needs replaced.

well its my first time using this cable ordered this new cable on EBAY..
I cant use a different input since this specific card only has 1 HDMI input and 3 DP AND Im using DP to HDMI cable..
how can i check whether my gpu inputs are faulty?
btw the vga interface input on the motherbaord and not the gpu also fails to recognize...

Why are you using dp to hdmi cable when your monitor has a dp interface? The reason the motherboard output isn't working is because you have a dedicated graphics card plugged into the motherboard.

well i thought it will be better to use dp interface and i dont have DP to DP atm so i thought of using DP to HDMI...
is there a way to pinpoint any problem or detect any faulty measures in my gpu performance and input hardware wise?

thats a problem because my dell monitor doesnt have HDMI input...
maybe connect my card to a tv supports HDMI will i get any signal in a tv screen?

so i connected my tv using the DP to HDMI cable and it duplicated my monitor which uses dvi flawlessly...
so why i cant get any signal using the DP to HDMI to my monitor?
