But... but... If we ask really nicely AND get EVGA to move themselves into gear over that card, pretty please could we have a 980Ti branded block?
I really like this card, but it definitely runs a little hot.

Unless you get a riser to aim the top of the block out of the case, you will never see the label on the block.

Even with it inverted, the wording is by the PCI slot and difficult to see when installed.

Ah. Fair enough. What about the backplate? Would I just use the existing Classified backplate?

Yep, just use the existing back plate and a set of M3x8 screws (Look for black ones) and you will be golden. You may have to widen the holes of the back plate ever so slightly to accommodate the m3 screw, but that would be something you do at your own risk and make sure you take your time, obviously not on the card, lol.

The screws will NOT fit inside of the backplate, so they will sit out ever so slight, which is why you should use black screws and try to get tapered angles, which will allow them to sit further down.

I suggest these: http://www.amazon.com/Axial-AXA144-Screws-10-Piece-3x8mm/dp/B0035XRZ0C/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1436809980&sr=8-4&keywords=m3x8+screws

Can anybody post up some clock speeds/temps/fan speeds/sound? There are like no reviews for this graphic card, and I would like to know how this puppy actually performs. Only way for me to get this in Canada is to have the local pc shop that I got to special order, since they are not planning on selling these. I'm not sure why since they've been supplying customers with every classified version of GPU that EVGA has brought out...

I have my Classified up and running. Needless to say I am quite disappointed with it. It has ASIC of 70% and will only do 1480 core and 7200 memory maxed out. I tried everything except flashing its bios. On stock setting the card boosts between 1380-1406. Stock fan curve is quiet and compared to my MSI 980 Ti Gaming and my 970 WF3 G1 cards before it is quieter. However, once cranked up to 1480, the card does ramp up fan speed quite a lot and typically hits 70% fan speed which is noisy just like my MSI card.

Temperatures hover around 75-80 C whilst gaming with default speed and fan curve. For me it wasn't worth paying 50 over reference to get this card. I may try Kingpin bios next to see if it will go higher. I have seen people with 980 Ti ACX 2.0 SC getting 1500+ on the core and I am just disappointed with this card overall.

I'm in the same boat... just try reducing that clock by about 30... sigh.

Mine's about the same, too. Doesn't seem to be anything special - perhaps that's why we're hearing they need water to perform?

People think getting a card prepped for LN2 will make their gaming experience, when the reference cards are built to take a beating already.  Little do they know, the Classified is meant for LN2, not air, and doesn't perform any better on air than a reference cooler... lol.

P.S. to all the owners, PER NVIDIA, EVGA is NOT allowed to support fully unlocked bios, although sometimes they find a way around that.  If you want to see the full potential of the card, you are going to have to learn how to flash it to an unsupported bios on the OC or LN2 bios switch.  Even the K|ngp|n card get shipped with locked bios on every bios selector.  If you don't know how to flash the card or where to get the BIOS, I suggest OCN.

I think he is saying that he has a reference card that ran 1500, not a classy.

Wow, that really is a good one. Most of the top scores in FS are running in the 12-1300 range with only a couple in the 14's

Firestrike doesn't read GPU Boost 2.0 scores.  If your baseclock reads 1375 and that card boosts to 1600, it will still only read base clock.

Like this http://www.3dmark.com/3dm11/9805792

True boost 1600, FSE reads 1473.  So, add a lot to what you see in the leaderboards, and you get the true clocks.

Classy 980Ti owners, do you note the vddc readings are odd?
Do you have only 2 step boost voltage?

Mine at no overvolt, the boost voltage  is 1.187v.
With overvolt, regardless of picking +12mv or +50mv, the boost voltage is only and only 1.2v!
Spoke with EVGA and they find is normal.
But i calculated, i only able to over-volt by +13mv... not strange for a custom card?

Current 980 ti gpu's are kinda like motherboards now. They all perform about the same no matter what massive 10 pound cooler or water. Its boiling down to features on motherboards and looks for gpu's. Their are die hard enthusiast that will pay $100 more for a card that will run at 1500 instead of 1450 but the vast majority is basing their purchases off aesthetics nowadays. The days of knowing you couldn't be touched if you had a classified card is over, for this generation of cards anyway..

That's one of big reason why card with higher clock become very popular among gamers after GTX600 series and specialy last 12 months,
and why brands as ASUS decide to pump clocks on over 200MHz.
Simply buying reference cards with confidence she is same as Classy for games, she will give same fps, or I will OC, as she have voltage slider long as GTX580 usually finished with gaming on 90-100MHz and even if card could more you don't have voltage for more and they are weaker for any kind of voltage mod.
And that's prove because few people burned TITANs in past 1-2 years. Same as fps result of reference cards is 7-15 fps less than result of highly overclocked cards.
I talk about very popular games and if someone get 10 fps on 35 he can't play but on 50fps he could play games with filters.

Strangely i think i have no control on the vddc as i just tested Witcher 3 with overvolt as OFF in PX. +100 gpu clock.
It still boost to 1.2v often at stays there. Sometimes it drop back to 1.187v and stays there.
My vddc controls seems to have its own mind.

But other AIB allow higher cap. Even Nvidia allow 1.23v.
Unless the Classy bios is bugged with software readings.
Yes i am using software readings of GPU-Z.
Maybe EVGA can fix their bios?
How about other owners, do you experience this issue?

Trimmed to save space.

Don't trust any digital readout in precision.  I have a feeling that you are, since you don't see any changes.  Precision DOES NOT read voltages properly. It will read 1.187 or 1.2 while your card sits at 1.4-1.7v.  Trusting it is not advised.

Grab a multimeter and a probe it connector (they are about $12 after shipping) and properly check the voltages.

Honestly speaking, the classified is a joke. I never felt this ripped off in my life lol.

Are you on air? The cards, as I have mentioned how many times in this thread, are meant for sub zero cooling, NOT AIR.  The air cooler is for testing BEFORE subzero temps.  It is meant to be removed and then the card frozen.  You bought an Extreme Overclocking Card and want to overclock it on ambient temps, which net the same results as reference cards under the same conditions.  There is nothing extreme about Ambient temps.  You fell for the hype of higher clocks speeds and a bigger price tag.  Sorry you feel like you bought a lemon, but if you get it to subzero temperatures, you will see the card react differently.

It's not important how much manufacturer use for fabric overclocking, binned chips with stock voltage, something more...1200V, or have permission to increase clock more and sell like that. Important is that with 13mV or 30mV you can't go there with reference cards with complete confidence in success

Malarapvp is right, with last few generations of custom cards people use voltmeter...
This little tool something best what they can offer for voltage checking...
and you will find connectors on every Classified card in last 2-3 generation and on motherboards

Yes i use GPUZ is better than PX.
But of course voltmeter is true.
But EVGA should make bios readable by software at least

It isn't a bios limit, it is a software limit.  GPU-Z is getting better, but it still isn't correct.

Which is the best classified bios to use? Can someone link me.
Scarlet I understand that it is great under water but on air I am getting lower clocks than what people are achieving ON AIR with reference or other ACX 2.0 cards. My card maxes out at 1480 on the core and 7200 on memory. This is pathetic by normal overclocking standards let alone those of classifieds.

I couldn't even use the 980 KPE on air, because it crashed at stock clocks.  I made a video about it and everything.  These are NOT meant for air.   The issue with the air, voltage scaling, and all of the air cooler problems was addressed by K|ngp|n a week ago, or so, and how the Maxwell doesn't scale well on air.

Go over to OCN and check the "Official Classified and Kingpin Owners" thread, as that will be where you find the bios and people that use the cards as designed.  Very few people there use the air coolers, because the classifieds or K|ngp|ns don't perform all that well with Air.  This has been a known issue that air users refuse to listen to.  They aren't meant for air.
