Lately I've been unable to play games are my computer keeps crashing. It seems to be happening more frequently so I've had Task Manager up on my second screen while gaming. Client Server Runtime Process keeps on using 100% GPU, which causes my PC to crash. I thought it was a virus so I ran a bunch of scans and didn't find anything. I've since reinstalled windows and formatted all of my hard drives, but it's still happening. CPUID / HWmonitor says my card is only getting to to 51C so it shouldn't be overheating. I've only been playing Diablo 2 lately so I shouldn't be using that much GPU. Any ideas on what could be causing this?

That's really odd. What all are you running in the background?

Diablo 2, HWMonitor, Chrome, and Task Manager are the only things running. I'd guess Malewarebytes and Windows Defender are also running in the background.

Basically nothing as I formatted all my HDs before reinstalling windows.

Windows 10 Pro x64. Not sure build number as I'm not by my PC currently, but I did all the windows updates after reinstalling. I haven't formatted my PC for at least 1 1/2 to 2 years prior to this issue. Was running the same Windows 10 Pro.

Did you scan your PC using robust and advanced Mode?
    Is the Process Csrss.exe?
Is this happening while mining or at Idle State?

Not sure what those are. I scanned using Malewarebytes, Spybot 2, and SuperAnti whatever. Let me boot up my PC and try running what you linked.

This is what the process looks like in Task Manager. It's only using .4% right now.
I've never done any mining with this system. I actually thought I got a mining virus or something so that's why I formatted all my drives before reinstalling windows. Figured that would get rid of it.
The issue has been happening when Idle/Watching Youtube/Gaming.

I'd dual boot windows 7 really quick to see if the issue goes away when running on windows 7.

you can do a live dvd of Linux as well  for free  with out a hard drive  to check with  and see  quick  [I keep one handy for testing or what ever ]

[for a example don't have to be mint  ]
You can download the Linux Mint operating system for free. It comes as an ISO file
which you need to burn to a blank DVD. The liveDVD is then bootable and provides a
fully-functional operating system which you can try without affecting your PC. In
layman's terms, when you put Linux Mint on a DVD and place it into your computer, you
can try it out while leaving your current system intact

I also wonder if a updater / update  is hanging  or stuck ??  just odd its the GPU and not the CPU or both ?

then if using hwinfo64  if it can show you more info in some way  [check out its screenshots ]

    https://www.hwinfo.com/

may see something more to the helpful in it ?

Can I use a USB drive instead? Not sure if I have any blank DVDs laying around and my current setup doesn't have a disc drive.

look at pen drive Linux   or the release notes from Linux you want to use should give instructions  if that's what you mean

[the dvd way I find so much easier and I tend to all ways want to over write / reuse a pen drive .lol.. ]

    some examples
    https://askubuntu.com/questions/191980/how-to-create-a-bootable-usb-stick

    https://tutorials.ubuntu.com/tutorial/tutorial-create-a-usb-stick-on-windows#0

    https://tutorials.ubuntu.com/tutorial/tutorial-create-a-usb-stick-on-windows#0

    https://unetbootin.github.io/

I just keep a old throw around 160gb harddrive  for quick loading windows  off there Microsoft dvd s   and hook it up like a external  unmounted hanging off to the side

now I'm not sure if using a pen drive  if its like a ssd per say   so it can update download or install  if you got space like a ''real / full '' harddrive  install . the DVD way is face value  what you get in the iso is all you got  ??

so maybe a live Linux on a pen drive has a advantage if you needed to add  drivers or a program  that you cant with a live dvd .   never had to try that out but interesting
