Edit: Update/Part 2 Post #31 Hey guys, another 780 Classified post here. My two Classifieds arrived earlier than expected today, which was of course quite a pleasant surprise. I just snapped a few quick pictures of them (and the cards they are replacing ) and have some very early OC results on the first card. Fresh out of the box with some pretty great company .... Closer side by side Back of the PCB's comparing Titan vs. 780 Classified Closer up Quick shot of card 1 in the rig As for my thoughts on the card after spending the last 3 hours or so playing around with it ... wow did EVGA do a great job with these. This is the kind of PCB and power delivery that GK110 deserves. I was of course hoping to hit the lottery and pick up a couple that hit 1176 out of the box, but no such luck. That's ok though, there's that nifty little voltage tool. I started out with the card that did the worst at stock voltage. I was a little worried when it would not do over 1254 at 1.2V in Heaven. I must say though, I am pretty impressed with how it clocked with extra voltage ... on air none the less. Here's the max core I reached through a Heaven bench run ... Not too shabby. It won't be the best Classified, by any means, but it won't be the worst either. This run was far from game stable I'm sure. Here is my table of Heaven runs for core OC's and the results comparing clocks and voltage for my first card ... I probably never really had enough voltage in the card after the 1346 run in the middle as I never had a perfectly clean run without any slight artifacts after that. In all reality, I would expect to have to back off 26-39 MHz at each voltage increment to actually be game stable. As for temps, you can see my note at the end that even at 1.3375V I maxed out at 67C. OK, so I'm cheating pretty hard with a roughly 6 inch Stanly squirrel cage style blower fan blowing at the card with the side of my case off. That little sucker puts out an insane amount of air! That's the best I have until Hydro Coppers arrive. There was very slight throttling on the LN2 bios at two instances early during the last 1385 core Heaven run, but it took 1.3375V to make it throttle. That said, I doubt I'll flash the bios because this is as far as they're going to go on air anyways. When they get put on water later down the road that should reduce the power usage anyways and keep me under the 115% limit in almost any scenario. That's all I have so far. I have no idea what my actual game stable clocks will be. In reality, I'll be pretty happy if I can manage 1306 game stable at relatively low voltage (~1.25 or lower) and that's where I'll probably run them if possible. I plan to work on the memory next and then GPU 2 after that. I expect GPU 2 to clock better since the very brief amount I had it in the rig I noticed it was a clock bin or two higher than the first card. Both were 1136 out of the box boosters, but card 2 went higher on 1.2V. We'll see what happens when I take it higher. I have a lot planned for these bad boys. Some of you may have caught my memory usage review with the Titans I posted a while back. Now I have the other side of the coin to test with 780's. I have since gathered a ton of data on my Titans before I let them go, so it should be very interesting to see how these thing stack up. Somehow I'll get it all posted up for everyone to see when I run these 780's through the course. I'll also update this with more OC results as I get them.

Nice tests. I assume you don't have/aren't going to be using an evbot? I'm curious since you could still get a bit more out of those on air evidently Also, what is the max res you'll be running? I'm very interested to see your vram testing!

Lettuce be cereal. Unless MSI does some crazy binning on the lightning, at best it can only be as good as the classy.

As far as I'm learning about it the Lighting will be on par with the Classified and only big difference between them is EK WB vs Swiftech block. And the TF cooler vs ACX Cooler.

I may dabble in the EVBot scene once I get them on water, but the temps are only going up from 67C. I was throwing as much fan at the card as I possibly could. I just don't want to run them at real high voltage at above 70C really. I will be running 5760x1080 for all the tests. It will take me a little bit since with Titans I did stock, max game OC, and max game OC PCI-E 2.0 for Crysis 3, Far Cry 3, Hitman in game and benchmark, Tomb Raider in game and benchmark, and Metro: Last Light in game and benchmark. I also did a lot of different settings in those games, so it's a lot of benching, lol. That will be a different thread as it will probably have to be multi-part or something like that. I'm interested to see how your 3 cards turn out as well!

I also wanted to ask, just in general, has anyone had any luck increasing the PCI-E voltage slider? I guess I don't really know what it does. I might play around with it tomorrow and see how it changes things.

It's always nice to see enthusiasts using and testing these beastly cards. Real detailed benches are hard to come by nowadays it seems. Appreciate it thebski! I'm itching to get back into the shop and do some more testing, and itching even more to get some waterblocks on these things and letting them run rampant.

Can I use 780 Classified and GTX 580 for physix??? Because I wait 780 Classified I pay for that card but my card is broken and I must play games. I saw some EVGA GTX580 stock not so expensive new sealed in Serbia. I thought to buy that and use until 20-25 Avgust when people back from USA with 780 Classified. Than I don't know to sell or keep as physix or backup card??? I'm crazy without gaming...

It seems like Kepler's and probably the 780 in particular eat up Physx work like it's nothing. What resolution are you gaming at?

Honestly that would be a waste of power and case space. A 640gt is basically all you need to run physics. Low power, Low heat and small imprint in the case graphics card. save your money and buy something sweet.
