Tom's Hardware has published a report based on several industry sources (speaking anonymously of course) that goes a bit beyond the speculation we've been shackled to until now. Core specs like clock speeds and CUDA Core count are still limited to speculation (which is partially why I choose to believe this particular report), but the outlet has listed a realistic timeline for the new Turing-based GPUs from both Nvidia and its board partners. NVIDIA A close-up of the blower-style fan of Nvidia's Founders Edition graphics cards First, the report states that Nvidia will sample its partners like ASUS, Gigabyte and EVGA with memory and Turing-based GPUs on or before June 15th, and that Nvidia will release its Founders Edition version of the GTX 1180 (and likely 1170) in July. That timeline gives Nvidia the opportunity to tease the next-gen cards at Computex and E3, and host a press event or two following those conferences with deeper dives into the architecture, specs and any new software features and possibly let reviewers walk away with the cards as they did in Austin for the GTX 1080 launch. Tom's Hardware also claims that Nvidia's GPU partners will release their custom variants in August or September, and laptop versions of the GPU will arrive later in 2018. That delay isn't merely to give the Founders Edition breathing room for sales, but to adhere to a lengthy validation process which includes design submissions and noise tests among a host of other requirements. Tom's has those steps listed in detail. SOURCE: https://www.forbes.com/si...-in-july/#b567a00d62a8

TBH, I will be surprised if there is any new release from Nvidia's gaming department before Xmas season.

Really I expect to see it at E3 but not have it released until the fall.

I hope this happens as planned but that the price is not based on the current gouging. I have been waiting for price normalization before building a new rig.

You're probably going to miss the Step Up window. The article says AIB won't have them for sale until August at the earliest. Unless EVGA has a special deal with nVidia to have them early and EVGA adds them to the Step Up soon as they launch. Keeping my fingers crossed for you.

I've not ever seem a Hybrid card on the step-up list Retail availability for the standard FE before August would be nice. I remember the 10 series launch Nvidia was the original sole provider at first. Probably an additional 6 to 9 months before a Ti version

So probable August/September availability for AIB cards (with a reasonable cooling solution, unlike FEs). I use "availability" loosely since most stock will be garbled up by miners.

Step up only allows for the reference design GPUs so say FE or the first most basic line to be stepped up for. Sometimes they might make an exception to the SC possibly if the stock is low on the others but mainly FE iirc.

One reference EVGA 1180 Hydro Copper with nice backplate. EVGA and NVIDIA dominations are main culprits why I'm not interested for Radeon price and specifications.

Always stronger if you can afford, anyway they will not stay long time in that form with reference cooler. GPU is most important part, you can good high end keep CPU 5-6 years. GPU is outdated after 3. For me I will probably look 1180 or GTX1080Ti discounts.

I'm asking if you think the next series will be based on the 11XX or 20XX naming scheme?

An Nvidia rep supposedly stated 11xx at an event, and said he didnt know where 20xx came from, so theres that. I believe Linus or Jayztwocents posted that after speaking to a rep.

I'm hoping for the rumor that nVidia will announce the next series during GTC Taiwan at the end of May with a July release date.

Sorry not happening .... EVGA only offers the standard level cards for Step-Up Step-Up Inventory - What can I Step-Up to?
EVGA maintains a list of current graphics cards as well as motherboards available to Step-Up to. Products listed are mostly stock (not factory overclocked, or water cooled) due to stock limitations.
